Teresa- Woo Hoo! I can't believe it is finally here! I am sending you some early
Janet- Thinking of you! Congrats on being PUPO! Hoping it is successful as last time. jdtx65- Sending bfp vibes your way for Tuesday's POAS. Elizabeth- Awesome numbers! bluebutterfly- ET Tuesday? Yay! Faith- how is your bedrest going? I know how hard it is. karens- I have Dad issues also. I know what you mean when you say you are 40. I am 41 and still can't deal with my dad. I become a kid again. Igloo- just offering hugs to you Sanda- Great! You should be on your way this week. karz- Yes! You passed the 3hr gtt. That must be a big relief. AFB&C- Brooke and Claire are doing well. They are in the 9lb range. Claire actually weighed a few ounces more than Brooke at our last visit- first time! Brooke hasn't been eating well. We have her on zantac and have been trying a couple of special formulas. I think she is doing better on the one she is eating now. If not, she will go to a specialist to figure out what the issue is.

I hope you can rearrange your work schedule.jdtx - I can't wait to hear the news on Tuesday! soulshine - Your signature says you are having a FET in early august. Do you have a calendar or any dates set yet? I can't wait to cheer you on. faith - I hope the bedrest is treating you well. lovemyreilly - I don't have insomnia, but I have been waking up earlier than usual. Contributing to a lighter topic....
I'm going to ask a super duper stupid question but I ask you to all forgive it, in advance, because I have never gotten this far in a pregnancy. My transfer last year that resulted in my only prior pregnancy was a chemical so there wasn't much but an agonizing series of betas until it was down under 5. Sheesh! Sadly, some of you know how that twisted countdown feels.
Anyway, here's the question. This Thursday is my first "Level I OB u/s" (that's what CCRM wrote on the script - which is being done at the local RE's clinic. Is that a transvaginal ultrasound or an abdominal ultrasound? I mean, at this point, I'm hardly modest (seriously, I've lost count at all of the men and women who've seen me from that end - Ugh!) but I would be a little embarrassed to sit in the room waiting for them with the cloth sheet over my lap to have whichever-of-a-dozen RE's come in and ask, "why are your pants off?" because it's just an abdominal u/s. So, what should I expect?

Janehill- I can say that all of my u/s with an OB were abdominal. Of course that was a "natural " pregnancy and not with the use of an RE. I am sure Kate or some of our other graduates can answer better from that perspective.

Jane, never take your pants off until either dinner is offered (make sure the check is paid first) or you are asked to by a medical professional (who should also buy you dinner IMO)
But that said, it will be TV. They can't see much through your tummy at this point unless they don't have a scanner to do TV and if that were the case, they wouldn't do the scan until about 8 weeks because that's about the earliest they can get much out of an abdominal scan. They're about a week to two weeks behind in what they can see. But again, never remove your panties without a request Pack I'm hoping to hear good news from you this week I want to be clear...I did mean what I said in every sense of the word. Youth and inexperience leads people to say things without putting much thought into them. Time and experiance teaches most people of intelligence that sometimes it's best to keep your opinions to yourself because you may not know the whole story. I'm quite sure none of these women beating up Helene have a special needs child and some are very young. Hopefully they'll never experience the first, but if they do, they'll be much more open to understanding what she's going through as I do. Ignoring something that's bothering you isn't going to cause pain and won't make it worse in most cases on the net, but cyber bullying the poor gal isn't going to have any positive effects and I absolutely hate to see that sort of pig pile happen. Especially on this thread. So, last word, let's leave it at that and move on to better things.

Janehill- This is your first u/s while pregnant, right? It will be transvaginal. You will get the best view that way. Even my first u/s at my OB (I had 2 previously with my RE) was transvaginal.
As for the taking off the pants thing- I have had a similar thought myself. I would always wonder if the u/s would be tv or not because "should I shave?" During the pregnancy, it got harder and harder to maintain the landscape down there. But if I had to de-pants, I wanted to look well groomed. LOL My OB and perinatologist always let me know when I went in the exam room whether to disrobe or not. That didn't help my shaving issue, but it will help you with whether to take off your pants. ![]()

Kate- I am glad to hear that the girls are progressing so nicely! Hopefully Brooke's current formula will remain sufficient and she will be content with feedings. As for me, bedrest is boring but I am getting used to it. I've been watching a lot of tv, reading, shopping on the internet, etc. I hope all is well with you and Dude.
Janehill- All of my ultrasounds up to 12 weeks were transvaginal. The u/s tech always mentioned that the u/s would be transvaginal and that I should undress from the waist down. If the tech doesn't mention directions simply ask whether the u/s will be transabdominal or transvaginal. But as Kate said, you may want to be prepared just in case .

HAAAAAA! OMG, you guys are a hoot - I nearly wet myself! Phew!
Well, I wanted to address the nurse telling me if I should disrobe or not. That would have made it super easy for me to know. Unfortunately, at my RE's office (IVF NJ), you sit in the waiting room during morning monitoring (with many other women) until the receptionist calls out "Jane, you can go to room #3" and you just walk down the hallway and let yourself in. That's why I wanted to be prepared - there is no nurse helping me to the room. The patients are on their own baby! As for the "grooming," HA! I know! I always shave that morning which makes me feel silly too - like WTF am I doing? Trying to get sexy for the doctor? Ewe! I would have just shaved Thursday morning, just in case. But it's good to know now that I can have my pants off when the doc comes in without her/him giving me a funny look. Funny story, I'd seen my regular Gyn so much early this year (physical at CCRM's request, annual pap and an endo biopsy for CCRM) within a few weeks of each other that during the last visit, just before he walked in, I almost joked "Dr. M, I think by now you should buy me dinner before proceeding." And then I stopped myself, 'cause I tend to have a very dark sense of humor and I would have cackled like a mad woman, only to be mortified if he was offended. So I thought better of it.
