earlymenowhat - Congratulations on your twin boys! I'm glad to hear they are doing well in the NICU and will be going home soon.
tbonus - Try not to worry about your lining. I think the estrogen you are on will plump up your lining nicely. If you want to try other methods to increase your blood flow to your uterus my accupuncturist recommended doing kidney rubs twice a day. Place your hands on your lower back where your kidneys are and move them back and forth about 50 times. Your lower back should feel nice and warm after you are done. She also recommended femoral artery occlusion to give bursts of increased blood flow to your uterus. Occlude your femoral artery for about 10 seconds and then release. Do this about 3 times to each side. I did this for my 3rd FET and hand a nice plump lining.

Wendy- Thank you for sharing those pictures with us. They are both so precious and adorable. I can't believe all the blond hair they have! I love how you have the pictures of them each without their tubes. We also were able to get a pic like that when our girls were in the NICU. How are you holding up as a NICU mom? Feel free to PM me if you ever need to chat. We only had a 5 week stay, but I've been there too.

Teresa, first, you can start your progesterone the evening of the transfer verses the morning. This could give you 12 hours to catch up a bit of lining if it's low. In addition, I find that by doing three estrace vaginally (little blue pills one three times a day) I can bring my lining up a full number in 24 hours.
I don't remember where your lining was on the first check. Is too much a problem for you? If it wasn't huge I'd up the estrace myself. But I say this because I know that the thinner lining is why we lost the babies (most likely according to the doc). From now on, I'm managing my freaking lining and doing more frequent checks. If you aren't at 8, take it really easy the first six weeks. No lifting over 10lbs etc. they say these are the most important with lining issues...and given my recent loss, I'd say they're probably right. You can't do everything...I had only 12 hours to bump up my lining and it probably didn't work. Do what you can if you're worried!

Pre-mock cycle blues?
Hello,
I've been lurking on this board for a while, following all of your stories and getting so much inspiration from all of you. You all impress me so much! You're strong, intelligent, supportive, and you're as knowledgable as the Drs. I've seen. I'm happy to finally be able to join you in the "non-lurking" capacity. ![]() I hate to arrive on the board and ask for advice right away, but I was wondering if you could help me get through the weird emotional landmine DH and I just encountered? Like all of you, we were trying so hard to do this on our own. We had two confirmed m/c, 2 more suspected, and a failed IVF/IUI. This month, we came up with a plan to get comfortable with donor eggs which was to try one last time to reproduce the exact events that led to the longest pregancy - HSG + Femera + Follistim. We did all this so that we would not have any regrets about moving on to donor eggs. So why did all that enthusiasm I had for the donor route not make the arrival of any easier? We didn't really think that reproducing all the same events as the long pregnancy would miraculously work. In fact, we've been knocking out the pre-reqs for the donor cycle, picked our donor, confirmed she's available and willing, and will be starting our mock cycle now that AF showed up.I honestly don't understand why now I'm a weeping mess. Did any of you go through this either when you were deciding to go donor or when the last AF before your mock cycle started?

I think you may still be grieving the loss that you feel by no longer being able to use your own eggs. Donor eggs can be a difficult concept to grasp. I know for me that my DH and I had to really think a little bit about it as it was not our original plan. I am however very grateful that it is available with greater chances for success too.

Leenalee: Most of us can totally understand how you feel. It is called the loss of a dream. The loss of having your own baby that looks like yourself or grandma. It is very sad and it hurts very bad. However, if/when you hold your baby in your arms from a donor egg, you will not care so much, We are here for you and I know these girls have helped me tremendously.

FF you crack me up...ok now just once daily until you get yur BFP. Think of these as test pees for the real thing.
I myself, with my fabulous addiction to POS am going to tell the doc I don't want to do weekly blood tests until it's below 5. I'm thinking I'll POS until it quits showing HCG then test again weekly before we go to the next cycle. What a way to feed my addiction! Teresa 7.5 is a good lining anyhoo, so if it's come up at all you're in even better shape. Don't worry about it. If you'd been six I'd be more concerned. KUP on the transfer...I can't wait to hear how it goes! Lee, welcome to the board. The ladies here are for the most part pretty lovely (JD is a stuborn poop and won't follow her husband's and my orders to POS and Faith is lazy...just laying on her bumm playing video games and eating bon bon's from what I hear) (Kidding...and faith are you going NUTS yet? Three days and I've beaten the Goron on Puzzle Quest....built a train set on my bed and a race car set around it...and cleaned my room (soft cleaning...mostly folding cloths) and I'm bored gooberless!!!! The decision to use donor eggs was easy for me actually. After a similar run of bad fertility luck to yours I actually haulted a cycle mid cycle after talking to an IVF doc and switched to donor eggs immediately. The numbers just make sense. 8% chance of bringing a pregnancy to term verses an 82% chance with a healthy baby. Those numbers talked pretty loudly to me and I had no problem making the change immediately. I will say that I do have a child that was naturally produced between DH and myself, so perhaps that makes things different, but we were also looking at adoption and I wasn't morning the inability to be pregnant...and it wouldn't have been either of our DNA's and yet I didn't think I'd have any issues with loving the baby. I wish we could have gone adoption, but out age, income, location and desire for a closed adoption made that problematic. DE is basically that same adoption for me Only I got to pick out a little mini me for our eggs so there's a chance the baby will seem to be from me to others. And she didn't care what our income was (believe it or not, upper income is worse than low income in the adoption world...they think you're adopting a baby as a pretty item to leave with the nanny verses actually wanting them for a family). I don't have to deal with visitations, and we don't even need to tell the child until they are grown (which we will eventually...but not when they're small). I hope you come to embrace your choice. there are so many wonderful stories here about babies born of DE and some DS as well or both. While I can't speak for YOU I can say that I bet you don't regret it once that baby is in your arms ![]()

Earlymeno – So glad to hear the boys are here and seem to be getting better with each passing day. Hopefully they will be coming home very soon.
Tbonus – Has that ever been an issue before? Mine was at 7.5 prior to the transfer and my RE said that is right about where they want it to be. Leenalee – I did have a grieving period transitioning to DE as I think many do. It is hard to give up the dreams of a genetic child with your DH. The excitement will come. Best of luck on your journey. Ask as many questions as you want. That is how we help each other. Final – My ET was before yours and I am not PAOS until tomorrow if I can get the nerve up. I am so scared to see the negative but it is better then getting the no beta call at work. Try to hold off just a little longer. Godiva – Mmmmmm….chocolate. I had a friend who would not leave her house, even though she was in labor, until she was able to shave her legs.

Did anyone else have trouble accessing the thread this morning?
Kate- I am sorry to hear that you had to be on such strict bedrest. That must have been very difficult! I am glad however that it worked you now have your two beautiful girls to show! Tbonus- My RE was never concerned about being able to plump up the lining. I believe he wanted to see it around 8. My RE was also very intent on the uterine pattern of a "triple lining" for the ET. I do know that increasing the estrace can do miracles virtually overnight. I know it's near impossible to not worry but try to trust your RE. Best wishes and please KUP on your progress. Wendy- Congratulations on the arrival of your two beautiful boys!!! They are absolutely precious! I am glad to hear that they are progressing so nicely. Please KUP. Best wishes! FinalFrontier- I know that you are anxious, but it is still way too early to POAS. Please try to wait a reasonable amount of time so that you don't get a false negative. I am sending lots of , and . Please KUP and remember that we are all here to support you during your 2ww!Igloo- Bedrest is actually not as bad as I thought it would be. I've been watching a lot of tv, shopping over the internet, reading trash magazines and checking the site frequently for updated news lol. Once DH is back in town, I think it will be even easier. I will be thinking of you today and waiting for an update from your appointment. Please KUP. Best wishes! Leenalee- !!! You have found a wonderful thread with very supportive and informative people! I wish you all the best and I am looking forward to following your DE journey!

I did have a difficult time getting on here this morning.
OK, I cannot resist, I have to comment on the shaving/waxing. I shave EVERYTHING, but at some point during my pregnancy with my DS I just couldn't see "down there" anymore. So, I apologized to my husband and my OB/GYN and reluctantly gave up. Of course, I started right up shaving again, just as soon as the baby belly retreated a bit. OK, I will wait to continue the POAS obsession...

Hi Ladies- How are you all doing? Well, tomorrow is the big day for a few of us. I know JD you are testing tomorrow, and am keeping you in my prayers. FinalFrontier: Its too early my darling! I would wait a few more days.
Inglo: Am waiting to hear your good news! Keeping my fingers crossed! Faith- Thanks so much for your good wishes, and prayers. DH and I will need it tomorrow.. How is it going with your bedrest!!???? All worthy!! Tbonus: Thanks again for keeping me in your prayers...I am not that nervous yet. Your day is just around the corner too. Godiva4me: I was laughing for a while after reading your posts about shaving your legs prior to going to the ER. You are too much! I am actually the same way. Anyway, doctor has not called yet to let me know how many embrios actually made it. Last I heard, 24 had fertilized. So, tomorrow is day 5 and am scheduled to go for transfer in the am. Still, DH and I cannot wait to hear from RE. Will post the results ASAP. ~Blue
