Happy Sunday everyone! Today I am at 25 weeks! The little guy woke me up around 8am with some really good kicks to celebrate!

My hubbie painted the nursery last night. We picked a Glidden paint called Enchantment. It's a really pretty shade of blue. We still have drop cloths up there and the dressers in the middle of the room, so when we do the final clean up, I'll take a photo or two so you guys can see the color. We're still waiting for BRU to call us to let us know the crib has arrived. Now that the room is painted I'm getting anxious for the crib! We still have to get the mattress and a good, waterproof pad or two, in order to get the crib fully ready for the munchkin!

QOTD: What is everyone planning for sleeping arrangements after the baby is born? I know we talked about this before, and most everyone said the baby is going to be in their bedroom and not the nursery, but what are you going to have the baby sleep in? A bassinet? A pack and play? Something else? DH has this crazy idea he wants to lug the pack and play up and down the stairs every day and I told him I think he's nuts, but I don't really know where to start...

QOTD: BRUS has a bassinet pack n play that we will be using for our bedroom. Which is where I expect the baby to sleep for at least the first 6 weeks. I will probably buy a larger pack n play for downstairs.
The little one will take up less space and will be great for travel for the first 6 months to a year. (Space is limited at the IL's so I am hoping the smaller one will work out for that.)
I hope to slowly move the baby into the nursery but, we will see how comfortable I am with that and how well the baby adjusts to being in there.
One reason I am choosing the bassinet pack n play is because my other children would not sleep in the crib at first. The space was too large. I hoping the smaller space will help this little feel comfortable.

Qotd:

Hi Amy!

We have bought a pack n' play for downstairs and traveling and a bassinet for our room. I know they don't use the bassinet for long, but I didn't want to get stuck lugging the pack n' play back and forth from upstairs to downstairs or vice versa. The bassinet we bought was pretty cheap so I didn't feel bad spending the money on it. I did also buy a bassinet mattress because some said the one it came with seemed flimsy. Here's the one bassinet we bought. I got the mattress at BRU. I searched high and low online and Walmart had the best pricing with 97 cent shipping!

Walmart.com: Kolcraft - Cuddle 'n Care Rocking Bassinet: Furniture

Good Question. I'm interested to see what the other ladies are doing.

Awwww... Scarlet, that's adorable! Thanks to you and Deanna so far for commenting on this. Weekend's are usually kind of quiet on this thread, so I'll be interested to see what others have to say this week too.

So I finally decided to get up enough nerve to post a pic of me... DH took this one earlier this morning. It's my 25-week photo. I can't do the full belly-shots yet with my naked-belly... not sure I want to see that myself!!!

QOTD- The babies will share a crib in our bedroom for the first six months. DH would like us to co-sleep I think, but I'm too nervous for that.

You have a beautiful baby belly! I love seeing how round we are all getting.
AmyBeth...even if you don't want to share the bare belly make sure to take a few anyway. I didn't do that with my other kids and totally regret it. It took so much for us to have these little ones...I say document all of it even if we get horrible stretch marks.

Spaitts, you are so adorable! You are so little in the body, then you have that cute belly!

Amybeth, you look great too! I'm sure your naked belly looks beautiful!

Scarlet, I hope you didn't hurt yourself to badly. I fell in my living room before Christmas and scared the crap out of myself. I fell on my knees though (which still didn't feel good, especially since I've had five surgeries on one knee), so I knew I was probably ok. It's just scary! This is the time where all of our balance will be off with the extra weight out in front.

QOTD, we are getting a play yard with the bassinet in it to use in our bedroom for a few months. Then, on to the crib! Luckily, I have a distant relative of my DH's that has offered me some stuff and I'm taking her up on another pack and play to use for traveling or keeping downstairs. Girls who have two or more floors in your house, it might be benificial to look in second-hand shops for stuff like this if you want more than one. It would probably be useful to have more than one bouncer for different floors too. The same relative has one of those for me too, so I'm taking her up on that as well to have one on each floor.

Have a good rest of your weekend girls!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. After hearing "wow, you've really gotten big" from so many people at work, it's nice to hear some positive mommy feedback from everyone!

I haven't convinced DH yet about having the baby sleep in our room for the first few months. He seems to think that the baby will be in his crib from the first day we bring the little guy home! I told him that he wasn't going to be the one who had just had major surgery who was going to have to get in and out of bed several times a night to go to the bathroom and feed the baby. If he was, the last thing he'd want would be to walk any further than he had to, especially all the way down the hallway and into the nursery. When I put it that way, I think he's slowly starting to cave. We'll see.

I think I can sell the idea of a bassinet pack and play better than a regular bassinet, but we'll see.

Amy you look great. I hope to get around to posting a belly pic of myself soon. Def not a bare belly one - that's something *I* wouldn't want to see Seriously I have terrible stretch marks.

QOTD I have the basinet I used for my older ds's (it was my baby sisters) for our bedroom. Also have a pack and play for downstairs. It was also my ds's and I'm hoping to get a replacement mattress for it I e-mailed Graco so we'll see. I plan on keeping the baby in our room in the basinet for around 3 months but we'll see how it goes. I think with my oldest he was in the basinet for a little less b/c he was large (8lb 7 oz at birth) and by like 2 or 2.5 months was waking himself up by hitting the sides of the basinet.

Question

Sue, I hope you like your Lamaze class!

Shawna, I hope your new doctor is nice and you like him or her! Let us know how it goes.

QOTD:
Have you thought about a going home outfit yet for the baby? I have ordered a set from Itty Bitty Bundles. I also ordered a sweater and hat set that is hand made just in case it's cold. Maybe a little early but I'm a planner and I have to have it shipped here.

What are you ladies doing?

I never heard that there were risks with the rhogam shots, but I’m sure there are risks with everything. What I’m concerned about with myself is that I know I haven’t “been pregnant” before, but what I don’t know is whether or not any of my late periods of the past were really the beginning of a pregnancy but that my HCG levels were too low to be detected in an HPT. I’m paranoid, I know, but I’m just putting my faith in my OBs and letting them do what’s best for me and my baby.

Amy - I was actually relieved when I spoke to the nurse later that day about the shot. Turns out that the research I've been doing has been outdated. I was led to believe that if I didn't have an anmnio, CVS, any bleeding or trauma, or any event that would have caused my blood to mix with my babies, then I wouldn't need the shot because it would be useless. So, rather then injecting myself with chemicals, I was going to wait until after the birth to get the shot. It turns out that the shot acts like a insurance for you and the baby. If something did happen before the birth where the blood did mix and I didnt get the shot in 72hours there could be serious problems. So, it acts like an insurance, by protecting both the mom and baby. Definately worth it! I got the shot when I was 27 weeks and 2 days. They took the Combs test before giving me the shot. They will let me know later this week if my body did start producing the d antibodies. I hope not! Good luck!! Sounds like you have a kick boxer on your hands to be able to wake you. Congratulations on getting to your 25th week. As for sleeping arrangements, we'll have Liam sleeping in a crib in the same room with us for a while. During the day, he could be in a swinger or if we want him downstairs with us, we will probably put him in a "Moses Basket". Your 25th week shot looks great. I would agree with the ladies on taking bare belly shots, even if you don't post them.

Shawna good luck with your appointment today.
