My OB believes in letting me go as far as safely possible I believe. HOwever he does want me to try vaginal as long as the babies are in the right position. Well the lead baby of course. He says he can turn Baby A if need be after Baby B comes out. He says that in his 15 years of practise he has never done a vag lead twin and a c-section follower. His partner has only done one in 30 years of practise and that was just recently. Unless the lead baby is breech or there are any other unforseen problems, vaginal will be the way we go!

Twin mommies-Has your OB talked about when they would want to induce you or how far they will let you go? Also have they mentioned vaginal or c-section? Baby A is head down and Baby B is transverse and they want me to try vaginal. That is fine but I really do not want to do both She said she would induce me at 37 weeks but thinks I will only make it to 34 weeks.

I mean I am already doing absolutely nothing, so if oB thinks I am doing all this running around and he wants me to do nothing, thats what I am trying to tell him already. I am doing nothing.
I drop off & pick up dd from school. But I dont even have to get out of the car to do it.

QOTD- My ob is leaving it up to me. I am leaving it up to the babies if they are both head down then I wil go vag. if not c- section. He will give me a date as we get cloaer. But it is deg 36 weeks but he too said I probably wont make it to 34 weeks. So I guess we well see what happens.
Your right 6-8 weeks is going to be here in know time.

I promise I will go to L&D if they last longer than an hr. Def. I have a 45 mins - 1hr drive to hosp. so I dont want to wait to long anymore.

I hope the appointments go well today ladies! Today I get to drink the oh so delicious fruit punch glucose drink!!!! I also get blood drawn for the antibodies so that next week (or two weeks, whatever they say) I get my rogahm shot.

Shawna-that is so interesting, I assumed that having both would be much more common. I guess we only hear the horror stories.lol
Barbara-34 weeks is my goal too, that is coming up but that is a good time for them to be born. I knew a couple who had their twins at 34 weeks and they actually came home the day after she did!
Amybeth-Good luck with the GTT ,the drink was not bad at all. They said drink it down in 3 or 4 minutes and it was finished by the time she stopped talking!lol

To all you twin mommies, my husband is an identical twin and he was born at 36 weeks and this was 26 years ago, with my MIL only knowing 4 weeks prior to that that there were two babies in there. He weighed 5 lb 11 ozs and his twin brother weighed 5 lbs 15 ozs. Both came out with rosy cheeks and very alert My brother in law came out first vaginally and my husband was a little bit stubborn and stuck up by his moms rib cage. Personally I think he got lodged up there from the momentum of shoving his brother out lol. They were home the next day, so at 34 weeks your baby has a good chance of coming home with you!! Good luck to you all!!

I haven't been posting much but keeping up to date on what is going on in everyone elses life.

Work has been wearing me out, I work straight midnights and just switched from 2 days on 2 days off and so on to 7 days off and 7 days on. Talk about a kick in the *** as I near my third trimester.

I go now every two weeks to see the OB. Last appt I had went well, had only gained 4 lbs in 5 weeks (so now I only have to gain 2 pounds to be back at my pre pregnancy weight, thanks to morning sickness) My blood pressure is normal which is good as I have always suffered from low blood pressure. And babies heart rate was perfect, he even kicked the doppler!!

We now have another concern, I was diagnosed with a condition in high school called Reynaud's syndrome which is irregular dilation of the blood vessels in your body, this causes my hands to turn black, yes black as black can be. I haven't had any problems with it in the past 5 years and now it decides to rear its head again. So now I have to be monitored closely for Pre-Ecalmpsia as this can cause this.

We have our nursery done except for the curtains as they are in the process of being made!!

And we have decided on a name for our little man

Shawna, Barbara, Maggie and all - thanks for the happy bday and anniversary wishes. No big plans this evening. Probably dinner with DS and DH after work this evening. I missed my family's bday party for me on Saturday since I was sick.
Viki- 15 years?? Congrats! I am so proud of you and your DH. You just don't hear of long marriages like that these days!
Courtney- I hope your hands get better. That sounds terrible!
On the delivery- the specialist told me last week that we'd "more than likely" do a c-section. For one, Taylor is my BABY A and is still breech at this point and he wants things more planned so that everyone is ready to take care of Chance when he's born. He wants me to last to 37 weeks. Wonder if that will happen? I'd rather do vaginal too but what ever is best for my babies! I think I've been getting a lot of BH too. Maybe I should check into that. That's when you get a real hard spot in your belly, right? I've been getting that quite often but thought it was normal.

Barbara-I think they were around 4 1/2 pounds but their lungs were mature and they did very well.
Courtney-I am sorry you are having a rough time, pregnancy does not seem to help much at all. We are all close so we just have to hang on!
Susan-Did they say if they would try to turn your baby a?

My MFM was great today. Cervix was 2.1cm so it has stayed put another week. Baby A gained 2 oz and now weighs 2lb12 oz.Baby B gained 7 oz and now weights 2lbs 9oz. This is amazing because just a couple weeks ago their was almost a whole pound difference between them! He said my chance of deliver in the next 2 weeks is around 10% I will take it!

My OB-gyn said that they could not turn Baby A (only can turn baby b with twins). But, now I'm not seeing my OBGYN. Now I'm seeing the fetal specialist for everything and he seems to think we should probably just do the c-section. He said for Taylor being breech but also wanted to have everyone we needed there for Chance. My questions is what happens if I go into labor before the scheduled c-section? I guess they'd do an emergency one but then it wouldn't be planned like he wanted it. I don't know.......
I do know one thing- if I were rich- or even just a little rich- I'd go ahead and start my maternity leave. I'm taking 12 weeks but want to wait until they're born. Especially with Chance's condition.
Oh, and Mary Kay- my babies were last measured last week and are at 2 lb 11 oz and 2 lb 8 oz, so we are right about the same.

I was told that if the lead baby is breech they cannot and will not turn them. Only the remaining twin can be turned thanks to the room the first twin leaves behind! lol.

I know someone who had her twins at 34 weeks, they were in the NICU for a week or two. It really depends on how well you eat, she didn't eat well enough. ONe baby weighed barely 4 lbs and hte other barely 5 lbs. The 5 lber actually had more problems then the 4 lber. Weird eh?! but I too have heard of twins being just fine to go home at 34 weeks!!

Heck my friend's sister went to 40 weeks with her twins!! Can you imagine?! Eeek!!

Barbara- Yeah, there isn't any way I think I could make it to 40 weeks either! lol Infact with the way they're growing and how my body is already measuring full term for a singleton, I don't expect us to make it past 34 weeks. Lol. I already hurt, am tired, etc. So you and I are so there at hte same spot! lol 40 weeks?!? Forget it! lol
