Well, I had my cervical scan this morning. Good news! 4.8 cm! I am so happy. I feel very blessed that everything is going so smoothly this pregnancy.

The one thing I didn't know is that depending on the position of the baby and the fullness of your bladder could make your cervix appear smaller on an ultrasound. Two weeks ago, I measured 4.2 cm but, the baby was really low in my pelvis. Today he is further up and I measured quite a bit longer. It makes sense I just never thought about it.

I do know one thing- if I were rich- or even just a little rich- I'd go ahead and start my maternity leave. I'm taking 12 weeks but want to wait until they're born. Especially with Chance's condition.
Oh, and Mary Kay- my babies were last measured last week and are at 2 lb 11 oz and 2 lb 8 oz, so we are right about the same.

Susan-in you situation with baby Chance a c-section would probably be better.Maybe it is a good thing that baby A is breech.Hopefully you could make it to your c-section day but I am not so sure how many with mommies with twins actually do.

Great news Deanna That is an awesome cervical length.
I am so wowed with the ladies that make it to 40 weeks. I am measuring 4 weeks ahead but I am in so much pain and discomfort, mentally I could not do it.You are right eating is so important. I can not eat as much anymore, despite the fact that my weight is still soaring, but I stopped worrying about my weight gain.I have noticed sometimes that the larger twin has more problems, I wonder why that is.

I'm measuring ten weeks ahead...it is hard. I mean our bodies will want to go into labour sooner then later too because unfortunately the babies don't have a built in timer but our uteruses can only go so far....

Deanna - Great cervical length! I'm glad things are going well.

MaryKay - My OB is just taking a wait and see approach about whether I'll be a C-section or vaginal birth. She said there are several factors that weigh in - including the obvious position of the babies, my health at the time, the gestational age of the babies (if they are very early, they want to do a C-section to get them out quickly with less stress to the babies).
I thought that my babies wouldn't move around so much, but every US (every 2 weeks) they have moved. I've had:
A - head down & B - transverse
A - head down & B - head down
A - head down & B - back to transverse
and now most recently, they are both transverse!! I don't know when they will run out of room and stop switching places.

Vicki, Happy Anniversary!
Susan, Happy Birthday and Anniversary! I don't think you have to worry if you go into labor. If you get to the hospital early enough, they will just go ahead and prep you for surgery. I just talked to someone who is a labor and delivery nurse and asked her what happens in those situations. Are there any updates on Chance or are things the same?

I had my sono today. Ethan was very uncooperative! He is balled up. Apparently, he also flipped and is now breech with his head, a hand and a foot up in my ribs (which I knew there was something up there, I can really feel it!) He has his hand and foot over his face, and has his other foot lower (the one that kicks my bladder!). We did get to see him moving his mouth! He was measuring perfectly with my due date still showing as April 2nd. He weighs 3lbs 2oz. My fluid was good too. It's funny that I'm measuring four weeks behind with him measuring right where he should be. I guess I'm just all baby! I certainly feel big!

So, it was good to know he's doing well, just kind of disappointing to not be able to see him better. We brought DS since he hadn't seen one yet. We didn't even get a picture! Oh well.

I'm going tomorrow for my glucose. I'll be bringing my knitting!

Hope everyone else is doing well. I'm sorry that I don't do more individual posts, but I do read everyone's and I think about all you guys often.

Susan: Happy B-Day and Happy Anniversary!!!

Viki: Happy Anniversary!!!

Deanna: You sound like you are doing great! Congrats on everything!

Mary Kay: I'm glad things are going well and your cervix is staying put. Cheers to 34+ weeks!
34+ weeks!!!

So my appointment today was OK. The fruit punch glucose drink was gross. Really gross in my opinion. It tasted like a combination of stale flavor-ice and the liquid junk that was inside those wax pop-bottle candies! I was supposed to fast for at least two hours before I drank the liquid, and then it was another hour after I drank the junk until they drew my blood. By then I was starving and the lack of food along with the plethora of sugar made me queasy. Then when they drew my blood, the drew 3 vials, one for the glucose test, one for a thyroid check, and one for my antibodies so I can get my rhogam shot in two weeks. By the time they had gotten almost done with the second vial, I was hot and sweaty, along with getting light-headed. They hung on to me, finished the blood draws, and made me lay down. They brought me water and a cookie, which helped.

Then I heard the little ones heartbeat which is always great to hear! It was 150. My BP was 108/60, which is a little lower than normal, but they weren't worried about it. My weight remained the same as two weeks ago, but I'm definitely bigger! But big news, is they scheduled my c-section!!! It's officially April 20th! It could get moved up if something changes from a bleeding and/or contractions perspective, but I'm really excited that they are so optimistic that I'll make it to 39 weeks! My OB said today that if I have any bleeding (even a little) or my contractions become regular (every 10 minutes) that she wants me to immediately come to emergency and have them bring me up to L&D. Because they can't do any pelvic exams, they are relying upon ultrasounds to monitor my previa and my cervix, and they can't really ever tell if I'm dialating! I'm hoping I won't have to do that though!

Scarlet: I have a few more appointments now if you could add them to the list please... My next OB appointment is Feb 3rd, and my next ultrasound is Feb 16th.

Have a good night everyone!

Angela-I hope all is well with you. I saw your belly pic and it was so cute, you are still so tiny. That is a good size boy!

Amy Beth- Oh my goodness, I felt the same way as you! I had to have my DH switch me seats in the waiting room because his chair had arms and I was afraid I'd fall out of the one without. I got queasy and dizzy and even shaky, and yet somehow I managed ot pass!! Hoping for hte same for you!!

Mary- I may have forgotten to say, yay for a good apointment!

I pulled a muscle again...same place and it hurts. It's almost like a muscle between my belly and my hip or something. Youch! I did it while I was sleeping too, so I must have stretched out or something because it woke me up and I was in so much pain. Blech! My body is falling apart...lol.

I am so undecided whether I want a c-section or vaginal delivery. I know this sounds dumb but they both scare me.
C- Section because its the unknown, but I feel like they will be safer coming out this way. But the recovery time I know is going to be harder.
Vaginal because I know what it is about, but because there is two of them what if something happens when the first one comes out ok and the second one has trouble coming out. I really dont want to do both.
I wish there was another way...LOL...

Does anyone else feel this way?

Hey guys, it's your lurker thread-mate lol

I'm doing well. Macie (that's the name we've picked out for the LO) is growing perfectly and everything is beautiful. I have the usual back pain and headaches but I have to say I don't care at all. I still can't believe that I'm pregnant and I'm so completely grateful...I don't know...I just have yet to get down about the pain that I'm feelin'. If only I could have this good attitude in OTHER arenas in my life lol

I have to say, I had a vaginal delivery with the little girl that I had when I was 17 (given up for adoption) and then I had my fallopian tubes removed in 2007 leaving me with the same incision in the exact same place that c-sections have. For me, the recovery from the vaginal birth was more difficult. I was in labor for 4 days. 40 hours of HARD labor (3 to 5 minute contractions) with no pain meds. So that was hard, of course. But the recovery...ugh. I just had trouble and felt TREMENDOUS pelvic pain and pressure. With the surgery and 6 inch incision, it actually seemed and felt easier. You're MADE to be conscious of the wound and you're MADE to be aware of your posture, positions, what you're lifting, how you stand and how you sit. I found that I took better care of myself with the incision and all was fine within a week.

Just my experience.

Angela- I don't have any other updates on Chance. We meet with the cardiologist tomorrow but I don't think there will be any new news. I think for the remainder of the pregnancy they'll just be keeping an eye on us and planning for delivery.

I have a question. You all are talking about measuring so many weeks ahead or behind. How do you know that? Does the doctor tell you that? I've never been told how I'm measuring. I'm only told about the babies and that I am "doing fine".
