I haven't posted in a while - sorry!

I failed my glucose test so bad that they just sent me right to the Diabetes Center and didn't have to do the three hour test - I knew I was going to fail since I had GD with my first son, oh well. I will just test my blood and follow a strict diet plan - hopefully no meds.

I'm also having weird "pains" which I think is Braxton Hicks - everytime I get up to walk, everything gets really tight - this is only happening at night, after a day of up and down at work and such - I'm just drinking more water and trying to take it easy at night but it's hard - the house chores have been neglected - oops!

hope everyone is doing great!

Stephanie: Wow! What an amazing photo!

Rebecca: sorry about you failing the glucose test, but it sounds like you kind of expected that. The weird pains you described happen to me too, but sometimes not just at night. My OB said those are BH's. She said to keep an eye on them to make sure they aren't regular (every 10 or less minutes apart). She suggested drinking more water, which it sounds like you are doing, and putting my feet up when it happens. She said to ultimately try to slow down overall. Easier said than done that's for sure. Make sure to mention it to your Dr when you go in next, unless they get regular, and then call right away or go to L&D to get checked out.

Angela: By the way, I picked up the glider/ottoman last night and DH put it together. WOW! I love it!!! Thanks for pointing me in that direction!

I also found out that I really shouldn't got to Babies R Us by myself as I ended up coming home with way more than I set out to get! I got a few bibs, some pack and play sheets, some changing pad covers, stuff to match the Pop Monkey bedding (blanket, diaper stacker, crib sheet, changing pad cover!), some jungle themed wall clings, a diaper bag, a packaged of diapers, and a really cute newborn outfit with puppies all over it that's a sleep sack (but you can button it closed so there are actual legs in the outfit) with a matching pair of puppy socks/booties, a puppy bib, and a puppy hat! DH loved the stuff I got, but laughed and said he should probably go there wtih me from now on.

Happy Friday everyone!!!

I am refusing to take out my belly ring until I have to. It hurt getting that piercing. I have a flexi in and it kind of molds to the shape of my belly. I am hoping to keep it in up until delivery.

I took my belly ring out a couple of months ago. It was starting to aggravate me with my belly getting big. I'd had the thing for 13 years! I figure I can just have it done again if I want. Depends on what my belly looks like after all of this!
Cute pictures!!

Mary Kay- good luck at your appt. Hope your test is okay.

This is going to be such an awesome year!! My mother in law got baptized last night, my dh is getting baptized on Saturday and I'll have two precious sweet-tarts to cuddle real soon!

Happy Friday!

It has been such a long time since I have posted! I had been in California for a few weeks over the Holidays and when I came back I had a family situation that required me to go back shortly after my return. Per my doctor’s orders I am staying put now. I have tons of posts to catch up on as I had tried to keep up on at least reading from my phone but my Mom’s house isn’t exactly a technology hub!

I am in my 30th week now and for the most part I have been feeling fine. My biggest complaint is that I can’t seem to get enough sleep. So frustrating! Tossing and turning all night. I have tried everything to seek some relief- Melatonin, using a body pillow, yoga. I give up! I try and get some naps here and there to compensate.

When I was in California I had my baby shower. Wow! I was so overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. It must have been my hormones but I was super emotional over everything. Tears were flowing big time! I think that what sent me over the edge was the fact that my godmother had flowers at my table on behalf of my Dad. My Dad died in 2007 and he used to always bring me pink roses for special occasions.

I have spent the last few days worrying about one of my best friends (happens to be my neighbor). I am so sad for her and at this point I don’t know what to do for her. I have mentioned her to you all before in regards to her fertility issues. She just got a BFN from a frozen donor embryo cycle. They transferred 3 really good ones on day 3. She has already tried everything else (many IUIs, many IVFs with her & her DH, IVF with a donor & her DH) and tons of acupuncture, yoga, and so many random other things that haven’t worked. He has had some issues in the past (20 + years ago) that may be roadblocks with adoption & foster parenting. They are completely devastated. My DH & I feel bad because they used to come over all the time and since we got our BFP our getting together had dwindled down. They don’t even come by to even hang out. I am sure she is avoiding me because of the baby. I can understand because of seeing me pregnant & baby stuff everywhere must be painful. I am here for her but she doesn’t want me to be so I have to respect that right now. Keep her in your prayers.

I have my next appointment on Monday for a growth ultrasound and then a regular OB visit. Since I haven’t gained a single pound since getting pregnant he mentioned that I might have to drink some shakes to make me gain weight. My nutritionist wasn’t worried because she said I gained 20 during the IVF treatments so she thinks I should be okay because the baby had been growing fine (was t the 47% last visit). Fingers crossed for my baby to be still on track next week!

For my GTT I was able to try something different. JELLY BEANS!!! Since I had gastric bypass I can’t drink super sugary beverages. My doctor recommended an alternative that apparently isn’t as rare as I thought. I had to eat 18 Brach’s jelly beans in 2 minutes and then had blood drawn an hour later. You can find info on this on the web! The results are in line with the traditional Glucola and works for all patients, not just bypass patients! The jelly beans had to be Brach’s so we had to special order them because most stores only have them at Easter. They are the nasty big fat ones but much better than the soda for me!

Take care! I can’t wait to catch up on how all of you and your little ones are doing. I apologize for the long post!

Patricia

Deanna and Scarlet-Cute bellies, I love your shirt Scarlet, that is a beautiful color on you.
Patricia-I was wondering about you, me and Angela were both wondering if everything was ok. Glad to know that it is.
I took my belly button ring out at 14 weeks because I did not want the hole to stretch. Well, guess what?! It still did. I think it looks so gross, but I am not going to be going around showing my belly to everyone once the babies get here anyway.
Well, I am leaving for my appointment. It is just a regular OB visit and NST so hopefully not too exciting!

Good luck at your appt Mary!!

I had a belly button ring almost ten years ago but took it out at one point. The scar hole is gross! lol. It has stretched like one wouldn't believe! I would have had to take it out last March during my whole ectopic ordeal so it's no biggie for me but still...I cannot believe the way the hole stretched and what not. Some day if I'm skinny again and my DH agrees, maybe I'll get it re-done but probably not. I'll have kids and more important things to spend that money on I guess...however, he cannot talk me out of getting my nose pierced!! lol and more tattoos!!
