It was Weds night, I went to itch my foot and I got a sharp pain at the top of my belly and then it got worse. That was at 11pm, by 11:15 my bp shot up to 165 over 110 and I kept getting contractions that covered the whole belly. I called my dr, woke up our 4yr old, got to the hospital by 12:15ish. They hooked me up to the monitors, contractions were down to 5 minutes apart by 4am which was considered early labor.

They gave me magnesum to relax me and make the contractions stop - I was out of it right away from it but then the contractions went to 3 minutes apart. I thought they would just admit me for a 24 hour urine test since my protein levels were starting to show again...by 6am his heartrate started to show signs of stress and they talked to my dr and they made the decision to get him out.

She showed up around 7am? In operating room and he was out by 8:10am She prepped me that since he was 36 weeks, he might not cry, might have to go to NICU right away (same thing as our first) and to our surprise, he came out kickin and a screamin!

He was 5lbs, 8 oz, 19 inches long - I got to see him all goopy, give him a kiss and my hubby went with him to the nursery to watch him while I got closed up and wheeled to recovery.

He was good for the first 12hours but had issues with keeping his temp. so they put him in the NICU on an IV and in a incubator. He got out yesterday at 2pm, stayed with us till 11pm last night and then it was the first night my husband and I got a full night of uninterrupted sleep! (they didn't stop the magnesum until 9am Friday on me so I was woken up every half our from the time I had him until then).

So, we are in the hospital, my son is at home with our inlaws, just sent my husband home for some stuff, bring them back so they see him, just recovering! I might get out tomorrow, still waiting for his circumsion to be done today so I might not get out till Monday.

Hope everyone is well! Hope I can catch up, it looks like more babies arrived this week, yay!

Congratulations!!

Tyler is such a handsome name,I bet he is a handsome boy

Has anyone heard if Sarna or Aveeno Anti-itch are safe. The pharmacist said it was fine, numerous web sites say they are fine and their is no warning on the label. But have any of you heard? I found something that helps and it seems to good to be true. BTW here is my 36 week picture, hopefully my last one! I apologize for the shadows, hopefully it does not make me look larger.lol

Shawna: Congrats on both the boys being home now!!! You must be so happy.

Rebecca!!!! Congrats to you and Tyler!!! Great name!!!

Deanna: how are you doing? Hopefully still ok!!!

Mary Kay: Wow, your belly shot is great! I can't believe you are having twins! I'm pretty sure I'm about the same size and with just one!! I haven't heard anything about the anti-itch stuff you were talking about... sorry!

As for me, I went to the car dealer today to have my 5K maintenance done. Then after I decided to stop at Macy's to pick up an anniversary present for my hubbie. I had sent him a message and asked him what he was doing. He said he was out and about and couldn't tell me what he was doing (aka shopping for my anniversary present!) I asked if by chance he was in Vernon Hills (where the Macy's is I stopped by), cuz if he was maybe would could get together for lunch... and then I literally ran into him! He was at Macy's too, in crystal department, which was the exact same place I was going!!!! He and the sales lady kicked me out so I went baby shopping instead. Then we met up for lunch and I went back to get what I was looking for (no telling until after Tues in case DH reads this!!!)... The sales lady laughed when she saw me come back and I made sure that what I was buying wasn't the same thing DH had gotten! She obviously wouldn't tell me what he had gotten (I didn't want to know anyway!) I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the same thing I had gotten him!!! Guess we know each other's taste that's for sure!!! Then after I went to BRU and got a bunch of things that we needed (another boppy cover, bath stuff, bottles, a few pacifiers, nail clippers, nursing bra pads, and stuff I don't remember!)... I never realized this but BRU has nursing bras as well as motherhood maternity underwear! I couldn't find the underwear anywhere, and wasn't thrilled with what I had found at Target, so I got a four pack just to see if I liked them!

Now I'm tired and going to put my feet up and rest a while!

MaryKay- Your belly is beautiful. I love it! I also think my belly is bigger than yours. Little Blaine thinks he needs a condo I guess.

AmyBeth- That is too funny that you and DH ended up at the same place.

Rebecca-I hope you are recovering well. Love the name Tyler. Baby Tyler!

ASFM: Well, I am back to not sleeping so good. I seem to have bouts of intense contractions more so at night. When I think I should head off to the hospital they ease up. The problem is the doctors feel that they are probably Braxton-Hicks at this point but, they don't feel like it. I have to focus myself to breathe thru them and there is so much pressure.
Hubby is flying home today. He has been gone this week. He plans to be home until the baby is born, which is a great relief for me. My SIL is also going to be here for a week. She was coming up to stay with me when we were unsure if DH would be able to stay home.
I am just going to take it easy and let everyone else take care of things. I am hoping to get another week or so before baby Blaine decides to come...even though his Daddy said he could come on St. Patricks Day. We have a lot of Irish in our family so it would be cool if I was further along.
Almost at 34 weeks!

Oh man...I'm so sorry. I know the feeling.
I was told that a Benedryl is totally OK at this stage in the game. But, I don't know if it'd be worth it at 4:30 unless you could sleep in pretty late.

bgK: I concur. Benedryl has savd me this last trimester. It basically knocks me on my @!$.

Holy cow! More babies! Congrats Rebecca! Barbara! So thrilled for you guys!

Shawna: I'm so happy your boys are home!

Deanna: THAT sounds so flippin scary. I would be a wreck. Be careful and go in to the hospital as many time as you need to.

I have been a bum today. My doc's appt yesterday has me feeling a bit less confident with my mat. fet. specialist. Since they are the ones that want to see me twice a week and did not ANY avail. appts. for next week, I'm at a loss. It does not help that my sinus infec. has left me with about 25% of my hearing. You can imagine what it's been like at doc's appt. I've pretty much told everybody to PLEASE yell at me when I don't respond because I haven't heard you. MAN!

Anybody else dealing with some nausea at this point--not enough to vomit, just enough to put me off of most food.
Sleep well tonight!!

Shawna That's awesome that your boys are home!!

Rebecca Congratulations!! baby Tyler!!! Can't believe how quickly the babies are coming now!

Mary Kay You look great - especially for having twins. I am also (unfortunately) in the camp that believes I might look larger - ughh I'm huge!

Amy That's so cute that you and your dh were shopping in the same place. Happy anniversary! I'm making my last (hopefully) BRU run on Friday when my Mom comes to visit - good to know that they have maternity underwear - I couldn't get any at Target for some reason.

Deanna So sorry that you are having contractions. I'm so glad your dh will be back soon - I'm sure your nervous with him gone. I think St Patty's Day is a great b'day for a baby - but you're right a little early for Blaine.

bgk I'm there with you too - had horrible heartburn last night and couldn't sleep. I must have changed positions 20 xs.

Lauren That stinks that your mfm couldn't just fit you in. Sorry about your cold. I have a bit of nausea (not enough to keep me from eating though - unfortunately since I could stand to be hungry a little less often ) but have recently had difficulty with heart burn.

Well we went to my Mom's house to visit today as it was my Step-Dad's b'day yesterday and tomorrow is my f-i-l's b'day so we go to visit them in NJ tomorrow. We had a great time today. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
