If you don't mind to share how has weight loss been after delivery?You don't have to give numbers but I am curious.I am 5ft7in and prepregnancy was 130(I was originally 143 but lost 13 pounds when going through infertility).I gained a whopping 67 pounds , which took me to 197 lbs .I am now down to 158lbs at 2w3d post partum.That is not bad but recovery has been so easy.I have not taken pain meds since I left the hospital and even then I did not need it,they suggested I take it so I did not experience any pain.I feel great,no problems but I had a c-section and I have to wait to exercise right?What can I do to exercise,I feel like a cow not working out because I use to work out all the time,especially since I feel so good?!Any suggestions,what have you ladies been doing if anything?I am thinking about just starting up cardio again but I know I will probably get yelled out for that!lol

Mary Kay, I think I am some kind of freak of nature. This has actually not helped my feeling guilty about the baby being on the smaller side, but I gained 18lbs, and 1 week post I had lost 14lbs. My nurse at my OB's office was like, "this has to be some kind of record! You are four pounds away from your pre-pregnancy weight!". I don't know where I am now, but I honestly don't look like I had a baby. Believe me, I eat every meal because I know I need to eat so I can nurse the baby. I guess I'm lucky...

I had to ask the doctor if I should have gained more weight. He asked how big my first was (6lbs. 7oz) and when I told him he just said that this is the size baby I have. I just don't have big ones. I am still struggling with guilt though. For some reason I have been anxious which is something I struggled with in the past. I'm assuming it's hormones but I don't want to get back into being anxious all the time. I want to enjoy my kids and my life!

Sorry, I got a little off topic here, but I need to get this off my chest. I'm sure DH is tired of hearing it!

You did look great pregnant!I wouldn't feel guilty,especially if your first was small.Are you petite?Ethan is healthy and home with you so you did someting right .I am excited I am in prepregnancy jeans.Despite all the weight I have to lose I don't look like I have had a baby or babies either.I have had tons of people say that.I think it is all boobs.I measured and I am in between a DD and DDD ,normally a C.Not quite as good as you but I don't mind because I have two sweet little girls looking at me.Try not to worry Ethan is beautiful!As far as anxiety goes,I have struggled with it too.I used to be on Prozac for it and I used to see a counselor.It has been bad since delivery.It must be hormones that make it worse.I wish I could give you advice but I can't find anything to help my anxiety.Just try to keep busy!Sometimes I just cry or I will even have panic attacks but I am so sick of worrying about everything.I want to enjoy my little girls because they won't be this small again and I want to enjoy them but I know the anxiety takes over.You can talk with me anytime you want because I know what you are going through!

That's exactly it, I want to enjoy this time, not be anxious!

I was doing really well off my meds, then my mom died last year and I started feeling anxious again. But, since we were getting ready to start our treatments, I didn't want to get back on anything. I ended up being ok until now. I know it's pretty normal, I just don't want to go back on anything, especially since I'm nursing. It's hard too because DH doesn't understand. He is an amazing husband and father and will do anything in the world for me. But, when I try to talk to him about this, he just says, "He's fine, don't worry." and that's about it! I want to hear that I did a good job and that I have nothing to feel bad about and that he's proud of me. He didn't grow up in a family that said what they thought like I did, so that stuff is hard for him.

I think it's hard for anyone to understand what this feels like unless you've been through it. Thanks for the support!

The weight thing is crazy. I really really really can't afford to buy new clothes. I seriously have 4 sizes in my rubbermaid tubs in my closet. I promised myself that I was going to do everything in my power to fit into my clothes again. I really can't afford to have 5 sizes of clothes. I am amazed at how much weight you lost Mary K. I hope I can follow in your footsteps. I had a friend who was like Curlgirl but then began devouring m&ms and candy everyday and gained weight. It was the oddest thing. We were so envious because she looked amazing post partum and then all of the sudden she got hormonal munchies. Her Dh was a truck driver and she was stuck alone caring for a newborn and chomping on candy was her prozac. I will honestly just be happy to not have this gigantic belly. Sleeping on my belly sounds sooooo nice right now.


QUESTION FOR YOU LADIES
I have been waking up every two hours like clockwork for the past 2 months. Will that change once the babies are here?

Mary Kay and Angela... you guys did amazing regardless of how much you either gained/lost/didn't gain or haven't lost yet!!! Your babies are beautiful and such blessings. Please feel free to vent whenever you need to with us... you know we always have a ton of shoulders to lean on here!!! A few months ago I started crying at the drop of a hat, for no real reason. I told my OB about it and she said to make sure to tell her when/if that happens post delivery too, to make sure there isn't any PPD... That can be worse than anything from what I understand. So don't hide it as I was also told there are things they can do and stuff you can take that is ok even if you are nursing!

Maggie: I hope all goes amazingly well today! 4pm central, huh? I will be thinking about you!!! I can't wait to hear all the details and see pictures!

Speaking of pictures, keep the pictures rolling ladies! I love seeing the little munchkins as they are all soooo cute!

Oh Mary Kay, I meant to add yesterday that my doctor still wants me to take it easy. No long walks etc. I have been out a few times since delivery and I can honestly feel it if I've been walking around the stores to much. I guess we really do have to listen to our bodies!

J-I have to mention.I wanted to sleep on my back and stomach so bad while pregnant.Guess what,now I prefer to sleep on my side!lol You are so right,I have to get my weight down because we can not afford for me to go to buy a whole new wardrobe,especially a couple sizes larger!lol
Amybeth-I know we should not worry about weight.As long as our babies are healthy that is all that matters,but it is a shocker seeing your non pregnant self in the mirror for the first time.But I have to admit I feel like a real woman.I have battle wounds to prove that I am a real mother.lol
Angela-I have been doing walking and have done fine,except I do start to bleed more when I am walking or cleaning a lot.I feel for you.I thought I was the only person that suffers with anxiety and guilt.Sometimes I feel like I am going nuts.Luckily,most of the time the girls keep me busy.DH tries to help but he does not know what it is like.It does not matter what anybody says I still feel the same way.I just try talking my way through one of my episodes.Maybe that will work for you too!

At my OB appointment today they did my first NST at 36 weeks. Both babies are looking good. They checked me and I am not dilated...or only about a fingertip dilated. Baby A is head down and my cervix is shortening. I have another US on Monday. C-section is scheduled for 4/27/09. I can't believe they are waiting until I am 38 1/2 weeks to schedule me! That means I might have another 3 weeks left!

My water broke on Monday night. I had NO contractions for hours and was induced and had Elijah Gray Frutiger at 3:24 pm Tuesday.

I can't wait to see the pics. Everyone's little ones are so precious. He came in time for Easter.
I am just hanging out getting cramps and hard knots on my belly if I do much. I still need to get to baby depot and walmart (i have a giftcard). I am too scared to go alone so I have to wait for Dh to get off of work. It is getting close so I better hurry.
