Scarlet!!! Oh my, you are going to be a Mommy soon!!! Congratulations and I can't wait to hear more details!!! Thanks for filling us in Deanna!!!
AFM, I'm done with work!!! Woohoo!!! Now if only the little one will stay put for the week and let me relax like I'm planning. Contractions today are pretty strong. Still not painful, but closer in time now. We'll see how things go over the next few hours but I'm hoping they'll go away now that I'm home and able to lay on the couch and do nothing!!! Otherwise I forsee a trip to L&D in my future. I already warned DH and he put his hand on my tummy and said "stay put little guy". ![]()

Maggie Your boys are just beautiful! Does one have blond hair and the other brown hair?
Amy I'm that the baby stays put so you can have some time to relax.Angela Yes, I'm very high strung by nature. It's funny b/c one of my ds's is like dh - very laid back and nothing gets to him. The other one is more like me - very sensitive and gets upset easily. They compliment each other well but just like with dh and I sometimes the more laid back ds doesn't understand what my other ds is making such a fuss over. Emma'a appt ment well. She had lost 6 oz at her first appt but today she had gained 3 oz back . Only prob is that she's not pooping enough so we might have to switch formulas. I'm that there will be some improvement as I already bought a tub of the formula (dumb move I know). She's pretty uncomfortable so I feel bad for her.

I haven't heard anything more from Scarlet but, its around 2 am now in Sweden so, I don't expect anything early morning. I hope that Sydney has made her appearance and mommy and baby are simply resting.
Maggie- the boys are beautiful! I am loving all the baby pics. ASFM: Well, after 5 days of struggling to get Blaine to latch-on I started looking for solutions to the problem. I am still really swollen from all the fluids but, then when you add the fact that I am apparently and good milk making machine...Blaine could not latch on. I ran across nipple shields! I swear this is one of the best inventions ever. DH went out BRU and picked up the two smaller sizes 16mm and 20mm. Once I put the 16 mm on Blaine has been able to take milk from the breast everytime. No bottles in more than 24 hours! So, ladies if you are going to breastfeed and you have shorter nipples be aware that you will most likely increase a full cup size or more when your milk comes in. Making it difficult for LO to latch. The hospital LC told me to just supplement after each feeding. However, he was never getting much from the breast and I had to pump to give him any breast milk. This is a great solution and allows you the contact we all desire with breastfeeding. You do have to be careful with the shields. Baby can become dependent on them and they are made of a soft silicone material so, you want to make sure that you are fully awake during feediings. For us, this was a great solution because Blaine would have been on the bottle until he was much bigger. This simple solution was only $6.99!

Scarlet Update!
Scarlet texted me early this morning!
"Sorry to keep u all waiting. Sydney Elisabeth was born at 2055 last night. After a LONG and HARD labor we ended with a csect as I only dilated to 4cm after all we tried. Turns out she was face up in utero which makes delivery vaginally difficult. She is 3675gr and 51cm. Pics to come. We are at Sos and doing great! We are in love "Congratulations to Scarlet and Jimmy! Sydney! It seems the babies this month are not sure what direction to turn when coming up. Hopefully, the rest of the babies will find the correct position and cause no trouble for the mommy's to be.

Congratulations Scarlet and Jimmy!!!
baby Sydney!!!Deanna: I love your new ticker about Blaine. The puppy is really cute! AFM I'm feeling a lot better. I think I'm finally close to kicking this cold and after drinking a glass of water and lying down in bed around 8:15, my contractions finally calmed down. That seems to do the trick for me thank goodness. I watched TV in bed and just relaxed and although I was still having some contractions, they kept getting futher and further apart. ![]()

Amy - I hope now that you can really relax, the baby gives you a chance too. But it seems like these thread babies have a mind of there own.
Congratulations Scarlet & Jimmy, Happy Birthday Sydney. Audra- they sent my boys home with the monitors I can have them until 6 months or little longer. But if I want it longer than that Ped has to ok. Which mine will. I have to see if her insurance covers it for her to get one. At first they had the monitor on all the time but I dont sleep or someone is alwys up watching them so I took it off until they sleep longer than hour or two.. Deanna - thanks for keeping us posted. Also thats great blaine is latching on. My sister swears by the shields I bought some while they were on sale hoping I was going to get milk. But now I will have to give them away to a family member who will breast feed. Its supposed to be great. I tried all different type of pacifers with the boys, I did find a little one for Billy but John will take the regular nuk one but they are still learning how to suck it. They were born at 35 weeks, There due date is actually this week. I just dont know how I am supposed to increase the time they scream they are so hungry the most I can try and get them too is 2hrs thats it. I dont want them to cry so hard before they eat because I am afraid there going to suck in so much air. It funny yesterday nyfd was up with me last night and he cant believe that they do this, he looks like he was getting fustrated. LOL..

Barbara- baby steps I guess. Increase their times between feedings little by little. I can understand not wanting to leave them scream...I wouldn't want to do it either. Plus they always say not to let a young baby cry for longer then ten minutes at a time anyways because it deprives them of O2 to their brains. I think I'd start by stretching them by ten minutes at a time as they can handle it! I hope they start eating more and going longer betweens feedings for you! I can't imagine only having two hours between feedings again. Three hours between was too short at times. Makes it hard to get much done and it's a bit frustrating, you feel like all you do is feed babies and change babies, etc.

This is exactly how I feel, I feeding, burping and diapering machine. 24/7 I did increase the formula they are up to 4ox for Billy and John is taking 5oz. So I think intake is good its just not filling them up for a long period of time. I will try the 10 min span. Thanks..

Hi everyone!
First, congratulations to everyone who has babies in the last week - I honestly haven't had time to catch up with all of you, but want to say a big to all the new little ones.We got home on Wednesday after some crazy days in the hospital! Thank you so much for keeping Felix in your prayers when he was in the NICU - that was the worst time of my life! Thankfully, he's fine now, and things are going as well as could be expected at home. It is hard work! I'll have to update you all on my crazy birth story at a different time - just wanted to pop in and say thank you and congrats to everyone. Special thanks to Barbara for keeping you all updated on our progress :-)

Congrars Scarlet!!
Sydney!!Welcome home Felix!! Barbara Sounds like things are tough right now. Wish I could help. I do think the advice about gradually stretching the time between feedings will work. Even if the increase starts at only 5 minutes over time it will go in the right direction. My younger ds was on a SIDS monitor b/c while we were on vacation and he was sleeping in our room we heard him suddenly gasp for air - very scary. Turns out he has asthma and we had the windows open in the rental house (pollen was prob the reason for his issue) so we didn't really need the SIDS monitor but it was a load off my mind to be able to find out whether he had apnea or not. I can't think of a Dr that would be cruel enough to say no to your dd regarding the monitor given all she's been through. If the Dr gives a good enough reason the insurance will OK it. that that works out for her.Deanna I'm so glad you found the solution to your bfing probs. bgk Hoping your baby makes his/ her appearance soon. Can't wait to hear whether it's a boy or a girl! Better go - Emma's waking up!
