I saw my OB today for my 39 week check up and she didn't do a cervical check .

The only words I got were well if your still pregnant next week than we'll schedule an induction.

So it is looking like my baby is going to be overdue and need some help. Lets he comes this week!!!

Congrats Amy!!! Billy!!

Scarlet Your little girl is beautiful!!

bgk and courtney Hoping you go into labor soon!

Sue Emma didn't poop for several days. The Dr told us to get her started by stimulating her with a thermometer (sorry if this is tmi but it worked) and once she started the problem was fixed - she's been fine since.

Jen You might be the last but at least we'll end big with twins!!

AFM Scary thing happened. I use the angelcare monitor and it works great - never went off for an entire week. Then a couple of days ago I was asleep and heard the warning beep (goes off if the baby doesn't breathe for 10 seconds) and I immediately woke up and charged across the room yelling Emma! and the ticker on the monitor started right up again. No problems the next day or so and then last night the alarm went off (not just the warning) and I opened my eyes and saw that the ticker on the monitor wasn't going and again yelled Emma! and as soon as I did the ticker started again. I'm pretty scared and am calling the Dr today. Hope they'll give me an apnea monitor for a week to see if it's an issue or if the angelcare is malfunctioning or something.

Hi everyone!!!! Still in the hospital, but my hubbie brought me my laptop today and my data card (the hospital doesn't have wireless available) so I was finally able to get online on something other than my blackberry!

Courtney... thanks for updating everyone! I can't wait to hear your news hopefully soon!!!

Viki and Jen... soon for you guys too!!!

So not too crazy of a birth story for me, but a little scarey in my opinion. I told you guys I wasn't feeling that great, and had a bit of a bloody show (or my mucus plug making it's exit)... Well the night of the 15th I went to bed and couldn't sleep, which frankly wasn't anything new. But around 2am I had to go to the bathroom (also nothing new) and starting to have cramps. My contractions started to get stronger, but I didn't have a clock so I couldn't really time them. Around 3am I thought my water broke as I felt like I was getting really wet between my legs. I immediately got up and went to the bathroom, and as I was getting towards the toilet, I passed a thick, pancake sized clot that was bright red, and then proceeded to bleed some more. I freaked, woke my hubbie up and said we need to go the hospital, I'm bleeding and contractions are getting closer and stronger. However, then I decided I wanted to hop in the shower as I felt gross and had no idea of how long it would be before I could take another shower! As I was doing that, Bill (my hubbie) put my bag in the car and got dressed himself. We made record time to the hospital without speeding too much, as there is no traffic on the road at 4:00am!!! We went into the emergency entrance and they brought me up to L&D pretty quickly. They hooked me up to the monitors and my contractions were between 2-4 min apart and pretty strong. My Dr happened to be onsite already as she had a delivery a few hours ago and she didn't even bother with an exam, she just said that I was in labor, they didn't want me to get any further in it, and they were doing the c-section around 6:45am!!! I got prepped, got my spinal, and William was born at 7:06am! He's named after my husband, but with my maiden name as his middle name. We're calling him Billy. (Barbara, I figured you'd like that!) He is absolutely perfect! He had an APGAR (if I spelled that right) score of 9,9 and today he passed his hearing test and jaundice screen with flying colors!

AFM, I'm feeling OK. I didn't get much sleep last night (go figure) as he was up most of the night. Plus they had me hooked up to these crazy contraptions on my legs that pumped air regularly (like an automatic blood pressure cuff) which drove me nuts. Plus I hurt from the surgery. But... this morning they took out my catheter, unhooked me from my IV, and took off the leg things. I felt like a human being again! They even had me take a shower which felt great! They've got me on strong ibuprofin for the swelling/inflamation, and Darvocet (if I spelled that right) for pain. They are going to send me home either tomorrow (Saturday) or Sunday depending on what my Dr says tomorrow and how I'm feeling.

Billy is nursing like a champ. He latched on right away in the recovery room, and nurses every 3-4 hours, some times for 30+ minutes, sometimes only for 10 minutes. We'll see what he does tomorrow as the rumor has it they tend to nurse more frequently starting on day 3!

Here's one pic of the little man, looking kind of sleepy! My Dad took a bunch more but I don't have them off his camera yet! I will when I get home.

Hope all is well with everyone. I skimmed through all the posts to try to get caught up quickly.

AmyBeth- Congrats on Billy! He is beautiful!

It's awesome that your recovery is going so well and that you may get to go home this weekend.

Blaine still nurses every 3-4 hours. He is an efficient eater. Hopefully, Billy will do the same and you will be able to get the sleep you need. I feel pretty lucky because sometimes Blaine will sleep 5 hours at night but, then he wakes up starving!

Take it easy and enjoy your baby!
