Jen - Ladybug!
All of your feelings are totally normal!
I think that it has to do with all of the treatments and the roller coaster of emotions that they entail! I was so not looking forward to the C-section - but it was not toooo bad and it got the babies here quickly! I was so nervous that I was not going to be as good of a mother this time around! Trying to divide my time and devotion to 3 kids! Even my DD (7yo) questioned how I would divide my love by 3. I am not sure how we have done it - but so far it has worked! Now granted everyday we do not get everything done - but - Everyone is fed Everyone is clean Everyone is clothed Anything else is just *bonus*! Nursing 2 babies - is really time consuming! Jen I know it has already been said but just to put my 2 cents in... Totally normal. This delivery was my forth and the third baby I was blessed to be able to bring home and I cried the week of the induction. I was scared about the delivery and I didn't feel ready. I felt like I wanted to be pregnant forever and I def was worried about being very low on sleep and having 2 kids in school. With my history of ppd I was concerned that that could happen again. There's so many changes. With you it's your first delivery *and* you're having twins. What a change for you and your dh! I can't speak about the c-section but before you know it you'll be adjusted to having the babies with you and won't know what you ever did without them. I know that's what happened with me - I remember so clearly sitting on the couch with my oldest ds and looking at him and thinking "I'm responsible for him for at least 18 years - yikes!" and now (how time flies) he's almost 8 and I have a hard to imagining what life would be like without my kids - certainly there would be alot less laughter
.Megan Love the picture - what cute little peanuts!! Courtney GL!! Thanks everyone for the feedback on the pictures. I'm glad you all like the naked baby picture too. My m-i-l keeps saying that Emma will be embarrassed by it when she's older.... I don't agree. I mean she's only a few days old in the picture...

I just wanted to thank everyone for your support and reassurance. It makes me feel better to know I'm normal. I guess I realize how much my life is going to change and it's scary. I don't know what to expect and have so much to learn about taking care of babies! They called and I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am on Monday. When they did my phone interview for the c-section, they said you usually get there about 2 hours before the procedure. So I'm assuming the c-section will be around 7:30 am. I know I will be a nervouse wreck and I hope I can get through it without freaking out. I just pray my babies are healthy and perfect! I am starting to get a little excited...we've waited so long for this day to come and now it's almost here. It's hard to believe.
Martieroo - I can't believe your twins are almost a month old already! Time has flown by so fast! They are very cute!

Amybeth - I know...I'm still hanging in there. I just hope I make it to Monday since I've made it this long! I go in at 5:30 am and they told me the procedure would be about 2 hours after that time. I have to meet with anesthesia and all that stuff before the c-section. I'm just ready to get it over with. I hope it is as easy as everyone keeps telling me. I just pray my little ones are healthy! I am getting a little excited, but still scared and hormonal. I just don't know what to expect, but I know my life is going to change forever!

Jen: Originally when my c-section was scheduled, they told me to be there two hours in advance too. I was supposed to fill out paperwork, talk to the anestesiologist, get my IV, etc... But that all changed when I went into labor early! However, it was the same process, just sped up a little I think.
We got to the hospital and were in triage for about 45 minutes before finding out for sure that they were going to do the c-section within a few hours. The paperwork was someone asking us about medical history, doing vitals, monitoring the munchkin and my contractions via an NST machine, getting an IV into me, and giving me some drugs for my stomach and to help prevent nausea from the anesthesia. Once they decided it was go-time, they wisked me into the OR, got DH dressed in his smurf outfit, and had me talk to the anestesiologist briefly. He confirmed what I had told the nurse in triage about my medication alergies, and had me stradle the OR table. I had to cross my arms across my chest like I was giving myself a hug, and lean forward slightly. He told me I'd feel something cold and wet on my back a few times, where I'm assuming he was swabbing me with iodine and/or alcohol, or whatever to ensure it was sterile. He told me I'd feel a sharp prick and some pressure, and a little burning sensation when the meds went in. That was from something similar to novacaine where you get numbed before they give you the good stuff. When he actually put in the meds to do the spinal, I didn't feel that at all. The whole time one of the nurses was holding my shoulder and told me to grab her hand if I needed it. I have to be honest, I'm a total wimp when it comes to this kind of stuff, and I really didn't think it was that bad. They helped me lay down as by then my toes and legs were starting to tingle and go numb. They got me all draped so DH and I couldn't see anything they were doing surgery-wise, and then they brought in DH. It was so good to have him by me! He kept stroking my forehead and pushing the little bit of hair that kept trying to escape my surgical hat, but under the hat. Not much longer and the little one was screaming!I was so freaked out as it was about the c-section, and then when I went into labor all I could think about was that I was going to hurt our baby in some way as I was told my uterus couldn't handle labor! Needless to say, our baby was fine and I was fine! Know that being scared is normal. If you weren't scared, I honestly don't think that would be normal. Even if you've been through a c-section before, I've got to believe it's scarey in and of itself each time!Try and get some rest if that's at all possible! Know that you've given an amazing home to the little ones these last 9 months and that it will be so amazing to meet them in person! If you need to vent, please do so. I've got a Dr's appointment for Billy tomorrow morning at 9:30 (yes, on a Sunday) to check his billiruben levels (he has/had jaundice) but other than that I'll be home all day. I promise I'll check the forum a gazillion times tomorrow to see if you need or want to talk. ![]() ![]()
