I agree with Angela, use the cream. It's kind of sticky but, it works wonders.

Have you tried rubbing breastmilk on them and letting it air dry?
You may also want to look into a shield until you heal a bit and consider visiting with an LC so that they can help you determine what is causing the cracking.

bgk - definitely talk to your LC or doc about the nipples. I have a pretty bad crack, & the LC called my doc to get prescription cream. it has helped alot.

Ayden is beautiful and you look so happy to have him. Of course after 63 hours of labor I would be smiling big just to have that part over with! 29 hours was enough for me. Congrats and enjoy your little man.

The Twins are Here!!!!

Hi everyone...Just a quick note to let you know that Brylee Rose and Logan Lee arrived on Monday 4/27/09. Brylee arrived at 7:44 am. She weighed 6lb 11oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Logan arrived at 7:45 am. He weighed 7lb 2oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. Both babies are healthy and doing well. They did lose a little more weight than the pediatrition wanted so we didn't come home until Wednesday. I was soley breastfeeding, but since the twins were losing weight, I started supplementing with 1 oz formula with each feeding until we get the ok to do only breastmilk. I am doing well, but am very anemic due to blood loss. They said I could use a blood transfusion, but since I'm younger they will just put me on iron tablets and I can really only rest and feed the babies. No diapers or anything like that for 2 weeks. So DH has been doing alot. Both my mother and MIL are at our house helping out. I will post more later, but just wanted to let everyone know we are doing well... Here is a picture of the twins from the day we came home (3 days old).

Jen, the twins are beautiful! I love the photo you posted. It sounds like you had quite the experience! The twins were quite good sizes and you did so well carrying them for so long!

Good luck with the resting and breastfeeding. I hope the iron supplements help with the anemia too. Not being able to handle diapers isn't all that bad!!!

Welcome Brylee and Logan!!!

Jen Congrats on Brylee and Logan!

bgk Hope your yeast infection is better. My oldest had thrush also - it was difficult. Did they give you some purple medicine which dyes the inside of his mouth? I know we tried several different things to get rid of it and that was one of them - we have some pretty funny pics of him and his purple mouth!

Sorry I haven't been on lately - dh had abdominal pain and went o the Er and found out it was a kidney stone. There has been on and off periods of pain over the past 1.5 weeks or so. He also started a new job a week ago and I'm at home with all 3 kids by myself for the first time. It's def an adjustment meeting everyone's needs. Thank God my older ones are fairly independent.
