If there is one, my dh and I am going to find out but are not telling anyone (probably)! Sneaky but fun! More than 1, I will absolutely find out because that is a lot of preparation for more than one baby. I am almost all the way prepared for a singleton

It's funny you ask that because my MIL asked me the same thing yesterday. I got irritated with her though because when I answered her (we were emailing) that yes, I'd like to find out, she said "You're going to ruin the surprise if you do that!". She has a history of being negative about things and I am not having it during this pregnancy. It may seem to you guys that that was an innocent comment, but believe me, it wasn't! Basically, she was looking for me to answer the way SHE wanted. After she emailed her response, I didn't even write her back. I have learned over the years that it's better to take the high road. This is the same woman who said that she hoped I didn't have twins because they are financially and emotionally draining on a marriage! Then, when I told her we saw one baby, she said, "Are you sure there aren't two in there?" AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! When we bought our first house she was so negative (apparently she thought we couldn't afford one even though we make more money than them) that we didn't even tell her we bought a house until we had lived in it for four days! I refuse to have negativity surrounding me through this too.

Sorry for the ramble, back to the question at hand. My reasons are this: I had my first child at 19. He is the love of my life. Since I was so young, obviously I didn't have my own house and the situation wasn't ideal. Now, DH and I own our dream house (we picked out which room would be a nursery the first time we walked through it) and I am so excited to really decorate a nursery. I really want to decorate gender specific. I think it would be cool for it to be a surprise, but I like to be prepared.

Angela, congrats on one healthy little bean! That's great.

Question of the day. I kind of want the suprise because I think it would be fun, but my husband can't stand that idea. He is a planner and feels that he can't plan if he doesn't know. So, we will find out beforehand. Either way it's a suprise, it's just how early you get the suprise!

Awesome idea Lia ---its your young mind working..LOL
This will be our joke...

Question of the day??? If by some miracle God blesses me with two ( I know my beta is really low for that to happen, But I do believe in miracles ) Then I would like to know so that I can also prepare for my two miracle babies.
But if I am preg. with one little miracle, I am keeping the gender a surprise. God can bless me with a boy or girl. It will be the one gift I cant open before christmas. Because I always sneak and unwrap then rewrap them...lol...sSSHHHHH dont tell anyone in my family. I have been doing it for years. Of course I am surprised still...LOL...Anyway.. My final answer is NOPE one bean I will wait..

Plus with 3 of my children I had to have animo's done so I said sure let me know.

My answer is, yes we will find out what the gender of the baby(s) is/are. We have waited three pregnancies to find out, with none of which we could due to losses. We have been through hell and back and we want to know who we are routing for and who we are planning for.

My own question of the day answer: I don't know for certain yet, but I'm leaning toward finding out. The RE said my first beta number meant it was probably just one baby, but I guess there's always hope for twins. If it's twins I will DEFINITELY find out, because -- as everyone here has mentioned -- there's a whole lot of extra planning involved for two babies. If it's one and we choose to find out, I'm keeping it a secret from everyone else. (THEY can be surprised)

I didn't find out with my first three children, all boys. By the time we got to that third boy I was beseiged by relatives and friends insisting it "better be a girl this time!", which was really hurtful when I had a beautiful little boy and they actually acted disappointed. I actually got "Oh, I'm so sorry it's another boy!" calls in the hospital. Can you believe that? (Shame on them!). So when I got pregnant with my fourth child, a daughter, I felt I couldn't go through that again.

But as it turned out, it wasn't just a relief that I wouldn't go through the negativity once more, I found I was actually bonding better with my unborn baby. I could name her and talk to her and get myself in a frame of mind to welcome her when she came. And I believe it would have gone that way even if she'd been a boy.

As Leigh Anne/russelle said, it's still a surprise, you just get it a little sooner.

Angela -- I've met plenty of people like you MIL, and I can understand it wasn't an off the wall comment from her. She sounds a bit.... er... controlling?

Lia - we have the opposites I have 3 girls and a boy.
How funny is that. Everyone in my family wants me to have a boy but I originally during IUI I was doing gender selection. Then I realized I should be greatful with whatever God gives me.

But If she is a girl I will call her Joie Marie so at least I can continue to have a Joey in my physical life..My family loves the idea.
But I just pray that I get to that point.

Barbara -- "Joie Marie" is a beautiful name! So pretty and delicate! I love it, and yes, you will then have another Joey in your life.

Or JOY, depending on how you look at it.

Just wanted to say "Hi" to my due date buddies. My EDD is April 18th. I'm so excited that I've made it to this point, but still scared s***less that something may go wrong (although I don't admit that to my husband or anyone else but you guys)!

I've been spotting since my 1st beta. Just a little dark blood upon wiping, and some drops into the toilet every now and then, but I keep telling my little bean to hold on and hang in there. RE told me not to panic unless it is like AF type blood, and that has not happened yet, so I'm still so very thankful!

I go for another beta tomorrow and I'm hoping to see that number double or more.

It seems like there's something to be anxious about at every turn. All this waiting stinks

Congrats to everyone here. I'm excited to go through this process with you guys. All good things from here, right!?

LeAnne - Thank you..I am praying like crazy..

I am still watching for any symptoms. The funny thing is since breakfast I have had the worse heart burn. And get this...I AM SO HAPPY..lol...I feel like its an almost symptom...Please will someone call bellevue and tell them to pick me up because if this how I am going to be for the next 8 months I need to be committed.

Things I took for granted in the previous pregnancy. I welcome it and will embrace it.
