I want to first apologize and thank everyone for their amazing support. After I posted last, the waiting was more than I could deal with and I was a mess. That is one of the reasons that I didn't post again until now... Sorry.

I received a call earlier today and they said that the amnio/f.i.s.h. results are in... Both of the boys are negative for trisomy 13, 18 and 21. We were preparing for the worst and were pleasantly shocked. Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers.

Urgh, just when I thought I could relax and ease through the rest of this pregnancy, my OB is concerned about the size difference of my babies. She's sending me for an u/s at the specialist and wants me to start having non-stress tests every week. Now I'm stressed! I'm also confused because everything is fine sizewise with baby B and the only size difference between the two is baby A's head. Look at the size difference between me and DH and it seems very normal to me that two fraternal babies would be very different. Argh! What is the OB looking for? It's not like they're going to have the twins transfusion thing, not with being fraternal and already having their bloodflow checked. NST are to check oxygenation and bloodflow. Oh well, I guess I should be happy to have a cautious OB. I'd been annoyed at her earlier for taking my twins pregnancy a little too casually.

Irena- I was kind of in a similar situation.

I think the point of watching the growth is to make sure one placenta is not tiring out faster than the other....even with fraternals (which I am having also) one placenta can dominate and make the other work harder to get nutrients...that in turn can tire out the non-dominant one and cause one baby to kind of lag behind a bit...I had that going on where baby b was a lil smaller than baby a and it raised a flag so they had to watch the dopplers very closely and make sure her cord was still working ok (and they did find slight resistance) and that her placenta was not calcifying too fast. Thankfully the issue is not severe and has kind of worked its way out .

And I have weekly NST's and have for about 6-7 weeks now, while they are annoying it is reassuring for me to know the babies are ok.

Hope that helps!!! Good Luck hun!!

Thanks for the info! I'm much calmer today about it, I think I was just thrown since the u/s tech seemed to think everything was great. Where your placentas fused? Mine are right smack against each other but the u/s showed they were still seperate.

Is anyone getting a lot of BH? Like every five mins. for 20 secs for a couple of hrs then it goes away.

I will let OB know on Monday but just curious to see how normal this is with twins.

Hi Everyone,

I read some posts from here and looks like many are in 3rd trimester. I know it is too early to join this forum.

I have few questions:
I had last US on 1/15, I was 8w3d at that time. baby A measured correctly with hb 174 but Baby B was 4 dyas behind and measured 7w6d with hb 177. Dr said it is normal and it totally depends on when they implanted. Did anyone has this kind of measurement and sill banies are doing okay?

Can anyone suggest me a good book on twin pregnancy?

Hi Babyneed! Congrats! Yes, most ladies here are further along. I read the thread to gain info and help myself to prepare for what is to come. I am just starting my 2nd trimester (i'm 13 1/2 weeks) so we can hang together. My babies have measured the same so far but I don't think a couple of a days is a big deal. My doc told me at my 12 wks appointment that if the babies get my than 25% difference in growth it was not good. Maybe one of the other ladies has more insight.

I would get Dr. Babara Luke's book..When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads. I am reading it now. I am also reading Baby Bargains which is kind of like a consumer reports for baby products...it is great! I have a couple of other twin books here I just have not read them yet. I'll let you know!

Welcome to the group!

Just wondering if it is a twin thing. Because with my singletons I did not experience it.

Has anyone experienced a clear liquid discharge, not a lot but it is all day long?

Welcome babyneed - it's not too early to join the group. I was kind of annoyed at the time, but maybe my RE was just saving me from worrying. I never was told what the babies were measuring that early on. I think it is pretty common though for them to be a couple days apart. Another book you may be interested in, is Mothering Multiples. It is by La Leche League and is about BF twins. I haven't finished it, and actually started reading it when I was like 14 weeks, decided that BF was too far away so I put it down, but I need to start reading it again. It didn't seem to cram BF down your throat, and offers good information.
Barbara - knock on wood.... I really don't think I've been having any BH contractions yet. Maybe once in awhile when I've over done it, but even then I can't pin point that I'm having one. Regarding the fluid - I haven't had any clear discharge.... I think I read that sorry... TMI... milky white discharge is normal, which I have had occassionally. If it is clear, I guess there is a small chance it's amniotic fluid leaking. Maybe you should head in and get the swab test to make sure.
Jessicap - I just noticed you signature - you have made it so far! Almost 36 weeks!! Congrats!

Thanks for the info..- I am going in tomorrow so maybe they can tell me tomorrow. Also, I read that it could be amiontic fluid but since I drink a lot of fluid I can replenish it a lot faster. Its still scary to think that it could be that.

- Babyneed and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Has anyone experienced a clear liquid discharge, not a lot but it is all day long?

Those two symptoms together are a little concerning, especially if you're drinking lots of fluid. I did have lots of BH around the timeframe you're in.

I don't think it's too early to join! It all depends on your level of comfort. I wasn't even willing to join due date boards at all for many weeks.

The measurements at those early days really vary - my Baby B was waaay behind but has caught up. I wouldn't worry about significant size difference yet. Remember that they're talking about millimeters!

I agree with the recommendation about the Lucas book, but don't let her scare you - like every author she has a strong point of view.
