Nurse- I have 3 1/2 yr old dog also and she loves to get pet all the time. she'll come up to your hand and hit your hand with her head to get you to pet her. Some books say we should start trying to get them use to not getting as much attention or sleeping in different place during the pregnancy so it won't be hard for them to adjust once babies are here. My dog is kind of skittish around loud noises, so I'm going to try to download baby crying sounds and play that while i walk around holding 2 dolls.
I know it sounds crazy, but hopefully it will help.

Thank you...they were still in the NICU when that picture was taken. Once they were put in an open crib together they were always facing each other. Once we brought them home we put them in our pack-n-play next to our bed and no matter how far apart we would put them they always made there way to each other. Now at 9 months it's a little different. They always look to see where the other on is at and as long as they can see each other they are fine. As for sleeping we had to put them in their own room...yes I know how could we?....our son was a really good sleeper and Olivia would keep him up or wake him up. We found this to be so much easier.
As for dogs I have two and they were are babies beofre we had babies. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't go to bed feeling bad for them but there is only some much time in one day. Now that the twins are getting older they are starting to pay attention to the dogs

Oh gosh - I really hope they can share a room! We have only gotten one nursery prepared and we are planning on making them share for a while - I'm talking years! I guess we will be able to make do if we need to but I don't know if dh is quite ready to surrender his home office that is already also a guest room! It wouldn't be a big deal if he didn't work from home!!!

Pack n Play

Hopeless, did you a pack n play especially for twins? I found that Graco has a twin pack n play, but it doesn't have changing area. I was just wondering if you can get away using a regular one.

That one hasn't gotten great reviews from consumers. I guess it is very difficult to set up and take down so if you want to be able to move it for traveling or whatever it isn't the greatest option. I got 2 single playards (Graco) and think they will work out well. (I know you didn't ask me but I just thought I'd let you know my research )

I used a regular pack and play and they both fit in their for a while. Now I keep it in my family room because of the changing table and to put them in if I have to leave the room. For me the only reason why I would consider getting two would be to put in different rooms of the house...but I haven't really needed another. DH and I were talking the other night about all the pictures we have taken of the babies and in them there is not one of them in the pack and play sleeping together I guess by the time we put them in there we were way to tired to think about getting the camera.

Also for all you thinking about high chairs for twins we use the space saver seats from fisher price, they are at Target for $50 and we love them!

Hi All - I share the fears of not being able to pay constanat attention to the both of them. But am even more concerned about how this will affect my 2 year old daughter. I have spent so much one on one time with her and now she has to share the spotlight not with just one sibling but two. I don't know how we'll do it.
As for the twins, I think they will be fine, they always have each other and that is something so special as to make up for some lost time with Mom and Dad. It is not an easy road, however.
Has anyone used the arm's reach co-sleeper? I just bought one for mine and DH's room for the first few months because they say that they can both fit in there. Just wondering if anyone has experience with it?

I have the twin pack and play, they sleep in it in our room. They sleep through the night now so the lack changing area is not a problem. You can always lay a pad down and change them on your bed. The first couple of weeks they both fit in one side of pack and play so we changed them in the other. We also have a reg. pack and play in the living room with the changer in it that we use most of the time, but only for the changing table part now because they are so busy during the day. We now have cribs and will be moving them to the nursery this weekend, they will sleep in the same crib for a while though.

Progesterone?

I got a call from nurse that said at 14dp3dt my progesterone level is in the mid 200's. I take 1 of PIO a day? She said that could mean multiples. So mommies, what were your progesterone levels?

Sorry I don't recall my progesterone number and am not even sure if they gave it to me!!!

We have the twin pack and play, the one with two bassinets, set up in our room and plan to put them in that at first - I too wonder how it will work out but it isn't for long and then we will move it downstairs and put them in the same crib - or at least that is the plan for now.

my progestrone jumped to 59.3, but dropped back to 17.9 and now 23 or something. I have never heard it said that it is a distinction for twins or not...if so that is cool.

We have decided to keep the idea of our twins open until we are proven wrong

I couldn't agree more on the highchairs. We have big normal highchairs and they take up so much room, we are planning on getting some space saver seats. We also used a regualar pack-n-play, then they shared a crib, then seperate cribs and now seperate rooms. Samuel is a noisey sleeper and would keep Katelyn up. We too don't have any pictures in the pack-n-play or crib togather. Wish I did because it was so cute how they started on opposite sides everynight, but always next to each other when they woke up.
