Hello Ladies

I am currently 17 weeks with twins......

I am hoping at my next Dr appointment on Monday i will be able to find out what they are.

As for the worries about them not getting enough attention. That has not even crossed my mind. I have two teenaged children who actually are kind of excited about the babies, ok well my DD is. She will turn 18, 18 days before these two are due.
I am however worried of how we are going to pay for everything. If you ladies have advise on money saving tips I am all ears.

For all of you current mommies of twins, keep the advise coming. I have two children already but i haven't been pregnant for 15 years, let alone trying to take care of two babies.

OMGosh I am so happy for you!!! for a healthy happy pregnancy

advice: I know that shelley a mom of triplets gave a bunch of places you could get freebies for twins. Even a case of formula for each baby, packs of diapers etc. ... I think that will help us some. We are scared about money since I just left my full-time job to start my own law firm. It is risky to do this, but I think God would not give us kids and not provide a way to support them.

Congrats to all the new twin mommies!

I get so nervous about all the financial stuff as it gets closer. I'm also totally freaking out about lack of sleep and being good parents.

Joline - my dh and I were talking last night that we went through an excited stage and now we are scared to death about being parents, finances, etc. Maybe we'll get excited again - that seems to help put the fears and worries in the back of the mind!

Hi Ladies! Hoping I can also join you all. We just found out it is twins on Monday. To say we were shocked is not an understatement. Although we both knew having transfered two that there was a chance we were not expecting it as my beta was right on target for a very healthy singleton but slightly low for twins. Well, we saw two babies, measuring the exact same, with pretty much teh same heart rate on monday. The u/s tech made a face and my heart sank as though she was going to tell us bad news, then turned and told us there was two. I asked her if she was joking me! I was so certain it was just one bean!

Anyways, we are thrilled and have already started researching strollers and twin type things. My only question is, when did or do you ladies feel comfortable enough to start purchasing the things you need for two? With my history of three losses, I find it hard to even walk into a baby store! But DH and I are wanting to spread the financial burden out a bit by buying things here and there. Any ideas ladies?

Congratulations Angel! I wasn't brave enough to buy anything except lots of books for the first trimester. I did lots of research at that time. I figured out which strollers I wanted and car seats and started looking at cribs online. DH and I ended up just ordering the cribs at about 16 weeks because it takes a few months to get them in and I didn't want to be caught without cribs! I still need to find bedding but all the furniture is ordered for the nursery. I ended up buying a few little things (clothes) here and there at around the same time because things were on sale so I wanted to take advantage. We are also moving though so I didn't want to buy too much stuff and then just have to move it right away. I know what you mean about spreading out the costs - good idea! Oh, and we bought 2 playards a few weeks ago cause they were on sale! Good luck and happy shopping!

Hi! I have been lurking on this thread for a bit now... We just had another ultrasound and it seems like both of my babies are doing well - so far so good! I am a bit worried about jumping the gun and declaring that I am having twins with it not reaching the second trimester. I hope you all don't mind me joining you!

I'm with you on trying to spread out the financial burden. I'm struggling with the same thing. I've found the stroller and car seats I want, but I'm so hesitant to buy them yet. I even have a coupon from the store I want to purchase them from for 15% off of my order, so it's making it difficult. My dilema is I have to use it by the end of September and I'm just afraid I still won't be ready yet to purchase things.
