Hi Ladies! I am so excited and yes, a bit nervous (until I see that heartbeat) about joining this thread. I just found this forum while on bed rest after my transfer a couple weeks ago and have enjoyed hearing all your good news.
Well, I'm no longer lurking and can tell you a bit about me ... My estimated due date is May 19, 2009: my RE calculates from day of fertilitzation/conception which was the day after my retrieval. I have a lot of the same symptoms: nausea, cramping, frequent peeing, pregnancy brain, bloated, some occassional heartburn and major constipation. My first ultrasound is 2 weeks from today ... UGH, another two week wait!!!! And my RE doesn't do 3rd or 4th betas, though I may ask to have one just to calm my nerves. I was prepared for multiples after transferring all 5 embryos! But I'm thinking I've got a singleton from my betas - either way, just praying that the baby (or babies) continues to grow strong and healthy. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you, cheering you on and sharing our experiences on this amazing nine month journey!  Best, Nicole

Hi ladies,
Nicole, i understand being sceptical about joining the thread. We leaving our lives in 2ww's. Anj70 & Faina, hope your u/s will go well. I still don't have any symptoms yet except being hungry a lot lately. Somedays i'm excited and feeling over the moon but there are days that i feel nothing. I can't wait for my u/s... 7 more more days to go. How are the other ladies here?

what are betas?

Im with you too! My first ultrasound is on 17th but thats just 21 days post IUI, not sure what that will show. 5 days left!! Can anyone explain to me what Beta's are?

Saw one perfect Bean! Beta: 4200 - 21 dpiui 9/24: Second Ultrasound. Baby growing bigger! Beta: 34383 - 28 dpiui 9/26: Third Ultrasound due to bleeding. Saw Strong heartbeat of 121bpm. 10/3: Fourth Ultrasound. Heartbeat of 168bpm. Released to OB! YAY! 10/17: 1st OB Appt. Saw little arm/leg buds moving. 11/11 : 1st Trimester Screening - Good results! 11/14 : 2nd OB Appointment Still to come: 12/16 : 3rd OB Appointment

 Nicole, CONGRATS!!! and we're happy to have you. I am too also awaiting to hear the heatbeat to put my mind at some type of ease for the time being. I've just been trying to stay busy. ballerinagirl, WOW Triplets CONGRATS!! How exciting... but what a difficult situation you're in. I am sending some prayers for you. Hang in there and God has choosen a path for you trust in him. GL!!! Chima, HI!!! and CONGRATS. I understand about the symptoms. Mine come and go and my bb's aren't as sore as everyone always says theirs are... ya know. So I can relate. I just have to trust in my body and in GOD that everything is still ok. GL! Pthli, betas are blood test checking for HCG levels and progesterone levels for pregnancy. They check other things as well. Hope this helps!

Hi Nicole,
You and I seem to be on similar trajectories. I did an IUI rather than IVF, and they were trying to salvage my cycle since I over-responded a bit on gonal-f, so I probably only ended up with one mature follicle, but you never know until u/s! Our beta #'s are similar. At 13dpiui my beta was 94.5 and at 16dpiui it was 422. My clinic doesn't do 3rd and 4th beta's either and my u/s is also on the 25th. It's just not fair  . I'm very skeptical about even joining these forums and not lurking but I figure that's what they are here for. My birthday is on the 28th this month, so hoping for a good bday gift at my u/s. Here's wishing for great results for both of us, and all the ladies with future u/s.

One little perfect bean !!!
Just came back from my ultrasound... we say one little bean... with little flicker of a heartbeat (at 119 bpm). The RE said it probabely started beating yesterday (when my DH came back home !)... Im sooooooooooooooo thrilled right now. We just called DH's parents and told them... they are over the moon in happiness ! Also confirmed the news with my parents !! Feeling really really nice... and happy to be !

Hi Ballerina-- I am sure it was a tearful day for you and your DH. I don't know if you have read the triplet mommies thread, but I saw there was another girl on there this week that is pregnant with triplets and her doctors have recommended selective reduction. You may want to read through that thread and ask questions. It appears many of the triplet mommies were advised to pursue SR as well. The discussion on that thread appeared to be very open, honest and non-judgemental.

I'm a bit nervous ladies. Although I know as long as the numbers are doubling we are okay BUT mine more than doubled. The verdict is in and my new Beta is 1608. I have my U/S on Tuesday instead of Wednesday.

Me: 30, High FSH, Slight Blockage on Left tube DH: 33, Just above borderline counts TTC: over 2 years. 8/27 : IUI (Gonal F, Ovidrel) 8/28 - 10/17 : Progesterone Vaginal suppositories 9/7 : HPT 9/8 : Blood Test at Doc Office Beta: 171 - 12dpiui 9/17: First Ultrasound. Saw one perfect Bean! Beta: 4200 - 21 dpiui 9/24: Second Ultrasound. Baby growing bigger! Beta: 34383 - 28 dpiui 9/26: Third Ultrasound due to bleeding. Saw Strong heartbeat of 121bpm. 10/3: Fourth Ultrasound. Heartbeat of 168bpm. Released to OB! YAY! 10/17: 1st OB Appt. Saw little arm/leg buds moving. 11/11 : 1st Trimester Screening - Good results! 11/14 : 2nd OB Appointment Still to come: 12/16 : 3rd OB Appointment
