First OB appt...spotting

Hi, all. I had my first OB appt today and she did a pelvic but no PAP because she didn't want to irritate my cervix. We then had an US and saw the heartbeat again and even a little foot "plate".

I went to the bathroom 45 mins ago and saw bright red blood on the toilet paper. No cramping. My OB is all call tonight I found out when I called to see if this is something to worry about but it's been 45 mins and no call back. I've read this can happen after a pelvic exam, but have any of you experienced it? I'm really trying not to freak out but it's hard. I'm wondering if I should call the answering service back again?

Repartee - It's very exciting to see the little heartbeat and be able to rest assured that our little babies are growing and healthy! As for symptoms, don't worry about not having too many. You are still very early in your pregnancy and many people don't seem to have symptoms. You are one of the lucky ones!

Martieroo - I'm glad to hear that your twins are doing great! I can't imagine how scary the bleeding episodes must be for you! I know what you mean about hearing about all the women who have lost their babies...It definitely makes you worry and pray that all will be ok with your own!

Journey - Good to hear you are finally feeling better! Hopefully it will get easier for you as the pregnancy progresses. At least you know the baby is doing well if it's making you that sick.

tko6666 - I'm very sorry that your little one didn't make it. Hopefully your RE can figure out what went wrong and help you carry your baby to term next time. My thoughts are with you.

Onehealthybaby - I would give it a little more time and wait for the doctor to call. If it's been over a couple of hours, maybe call back and make sure they know you have been waiting and no one has called. Most likely if it was something serious, they would have called you back immediately.

Terri

You are welcome to post here! I am just in ultra panic mode with the bleeding from a couple of weeks ago.

While staying home on bedrest....all I do is stay home and try to find something else to perservate on!

Then I am continuing to have the brown bleeding and then the cramps...of course it was right after your update.

I am just ultra sensitive!

Megan

My update...I went for my second u/s on Friday and there were 4 strong and healthy heartbeats. The doctor said she doesn't think we lost one. She said that they were so close together and so small the first week that she may have kept counting 1 twice. We actually got to hear all 4 heartbeats. It was pretty amazing. They are all within a day of eachother in their growth so she released me to a perinatologist to get me through the rest of the pregnancy. It is still scary, but I am finally letting myself get excited about everything.
Also, even though I know they won't hold off until then my due date is actually May 15th. I was wrong when I thought the 28th.

After I had a transvaginal u/s I had some bright red blood. my doc said it was because the probe can poke the cervix and cause it to bleed since it is all pumped up and full of blood. mine stopped after a few hours and went to brown spotting for a few days. Baby is fine Hopefully its the same with you!

Ladies - can we say "Sick, sick, sick" - I had 2 go 2 the ER yesterday per my doctor. I kept blacking out at work and had excessive vomiting (yes even with the Zofran) so after go-n 2 the ER and get several IV fluid bags, they released me. I'm at home 2day trying 2 move as slowly as possible and get as much rest as I can so that I can return 2morrow.

I just keep telling myself this trimester will be over soon.

Talking Journey - and questions for all

I am so very sorry that you are so so so very sick!!!

I have been sick quite a bit but nothing like you!
I shall stop feeling sorry for myself.

Questions for you all:

I have twins - I noticed today that apparently my uterus has pushed up on on deep belly button.

It is no longer deep down. It is angled!

Are you all growing too???

I have been on bed rest for over 2 weeks now and home rest a week before that. I am so tired of staying in bed~~~

I am a big girl - so it is okay buy this is my question...

I eat and eat and sleep and sleep while being sick in the middle and having indegestion...but I have lost 8 pounds.

Why is this happening???
My cousin (who is a nutritionist) has gone over my diet but did not have an answer.

I was a lot bigger girl with my DD and I lost almost 20 pounds.

Why is this???

Is anybody else on bed rest???

Does your belly really seem to be changing??

Megan

I hope this torture is over for you soon! I've treated girls in my ER for the same thing and they always look soooo miserable I feel so sorry for anyone as sick as you are. Hope it passed soon. Remember, even if you can't stomach fluids that popsickles count, too. Suck on some popsickles if you can't do much else.

Thanks for the encouragement. I finally talked to my Dr. and she said it could be expected after a vag exam, probably when she felt the size of my uterus it irritated the cervix. It has tapered off to only some brown dc (sorry if tmi). She offered last night for me to come in for another US if I wanted to be reassured, but since it's coming to an end and I just saw the HB yesterday I'm going to try to relax and not worry. Fortunately I am being kept home on call for work because our census is low, so I'm trying to relax until they call me in to work.

I know I don't post much, but I do keep up with you all and am wishing everyone the best. I look forward to "growing" with you all over the next 7 months. In Nov we'll be in the second trimester! Can you believe it?

Martieroo, I WISH i had your problem of LOSING weight. I've been watching what I eat and trying to only make healthy choices, but I swear everyday I wake up and I'm a little bigger. My next dr.'s appt is next Monday and I'm DREADING to see how much weight I've gained in just two weeks.

I'm only 2.5 months pregnant and I already have to wear one of those bella bands on my jeans so that I don't have to button them up.
