I was wondering what everyone is doing about telling friends/family. Are you waiting until the u/s? I don't know if I can make it two 8weeks when my u/s is scheduled.

We were going to wait until the ultrasound came back, but after the beta came back pretty solid ( at 308 ), we couldnt hold back at thanksgiving. We told both of our parent's - HOWEVER, we told them it was still very piliminary considering we still had another beta to pass and an ultrasound to clear ...
I've also told two close friends. I guess it's just taken so long to get to this point - we couldnt hold it in any longer. We kept our whole second IVF cycle a secret, so it was along time coming ..

I originally intended to wait until after the first u/s to make sure that everything was ok, but after our beta on Friday, we couldn't hold it in. Then on Monday, when our numbers went up, we let everyone know..family and friends. All of them know how long we have been trying to get to where we are now. They were all so happy for us. If anything does go wrong, then I know they will be there as my support system.

I started taking HPT's 5 day's after my transfer and started getting positive's .. It was hard enough to keep it quite for those next 5 day's !!!

Hey Ladies! First of all let me say CONGRATS to everyone!!

May I join? My first u/s is Dec. 17. I asked my nurse if my numbers were ok, and she said that they are right where they want them, but looking at all of yours, I am concerned that they are low. What do you think?

I would say as long as they are increasing ( atleast doubling as they should ) It's good new's !! I think we all worry about our number's - I was semi unhappy about my second beta being not higher, I thought it would have been a bit more up there. Your p4 level looks really good !!


I didnt realize it until now, most of you ladies are IUI ladies ... I'm not up on that protocol So, how do you know exactly how many potential babies you are looking at ? I did IVF, we put 2 great blast's in, so I know we could possibly see 2. With IUI can't you have a Jon & Kate plus 8 kind of family ? Please educate me I guess with IVF, it's alway's possible for an embryo to split - so you'd have double the fun ... but I dont think it's a typical thing.

As far as I know with an IUI, it just depends on how many folicles ovulate. I know with mine I had three on the right side and 2 on the left. I don't know exactly how many I ovulated, but we did an u/s 4 days after my IUI to see if I did O. My RE confirmed that on the left side I had two folicles that were in the post O stages. Before the IUI, the two on the left were the smaller folicles. So to answer your question, it really just depends on how many folicles the medicine produces and then how many actually o. If anyone else has any input, please add!

Hello, sorry I havent been here in a little bit. So far I am fine. I have read everyone elses posting and it looks like a few of the new ladies had betas very similar to mine. Lauren5290 and I had betas on the same days and they both went way up for the second one. I dont understand why mine is such a concern. I am really trying to think positive but I am having a hard time with it. I have cried so much over this and I just hope it is not true and everything is going to be ok . My appointment is at 3:15 today so I can post what they tell me this evening. Everyone please pray that it is all ok and it is just a really healthy pregnancy.

Jen - I'm sure everything is fine. I don't understand why the nurse would have been that way and make you worry so much. From what I understand, if it was etopic, there would be pelvic pain and bleeding. If you are feeling fine then don't worry too much. I will say a prayer and !!! Good luck. I am sure 3:15 can't come quick enough for you!

Lauren - I wouldn't worry about your numbers. Like Kelli said, as long as they are doubling every 48 hours or so, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Kelli -I think Lauren pretty much explained IUIs just as well as I would have. It all depends on how your follicles respond to the medicine(s) you are on. I only had two follicles that were of measurable size before my IUI, but my RE did not do another u/s to see if any of them had ovulated, but I guess at least one had to if I am posting here.

Jen - I will definitely be that everything is just fine.

Hello ladies, I hope you all are doing fine.

I have a questions, do any of you have expperienced shortness of breath yet?

Last night it happened to me, to make matters worst seems like I over did it cleaning yesterday and I got a terrible back pain that felt like a cramp going all the way around my torso. I was scared to death at first thinking I was going to have a heart attac, so my DH came to the rescue and went online to check on the early pregnancy simptoms, he found out that the shortness of breath can happen in early pregg due to high progesterone levels, my guess is mine are thu the roof since I'm using the prometrium. So if it happens to any of you don't get scared or worried like me, It was silly now that I think about it... and the back pain just went away once I spent some time laying on my back, I was short of breath that whole but once I could lie on my left sithe the breathing improved too...

wow I wrote so much but I wanted to let you know about it so you dont worry if it happens to you.

Nothing fun, I have nothing fun to to until my w/s on the 15nth seems son long to wait!!!!!!!! lucklily is at 10 am so I wont have to wait all day for it, but is making me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
