Morning ladies!!! Today is my last work day I've already decided to not be very productive. I'm cleaining out my cabinet that has become a pantry of snacks and putting away some of my personal items since someone else will be using my desk while I'm out. Organizing my drawers and of course checking on everyone here. I will go in for my c-section on Monday 11/9 at 5:30 surgery at 7:30 and I will try to check in shortly thereafter to let everyone know how it went.

Lisa-I know how you feel about no dialated, if you are anything like me you probably worried about cervical incompetence at about 20 weeks and now that you want your cervix to open up the puppy won't budge. Sounds like you also have Carpal Tunnel..it is not fun and gets more painful everyday but thankfully seems to get better as the day wears on. The nights are the worse.

Michelle-It would be nice to know if the pesky contractions we have been having our actually doing something or if they are just for "fun". I had contractions the other night about every 20 minutes and I really thought it was the beginning of something but it stopped.

Jackie-Congratulations!!! I guess being off of bedrest really got things moving for you. I'm so glad you are getting to hold your little girl. Let us know how it all went and get those pictures posted.

Jackie - congrats and baby Victoria! Cant wait to see pic and hear details! So very happy for you!!!!

Michelle - Hmmm, had some menstrual like cramping yesterday off and on all day. I thought it was maybe due to the exam but it may have been more. How are you doing now that you are on maternity leave?

Yolanda - Ha ha! You are so right! I was worried about cervical incompetence at 20. Now I am all obsessed with being a bit too competent down there! Have a happy last day of work! Do you have any special plans this weekend to celebrate your last baby free days?

Smile My Story

It has been several months since I posted on this site but have been reading to keep up with everyone. I was due to deliver on Nov 3, but was induced on Oct 29 because of high blood pressure due to pregnancy.

We were induced around noon on the 29th Oct and welcomed Harper at 5:42 p.m. She is wonderful. Labor wasn't as painful as I remember. The epidural was given to me at 4 cm dilated and I could even move around a bit which helped so much with the pushing. The old epidurals made you feel completely numb from the waist down. I went from 5 cm to 10 cm in just a few minutes and only pushed for 5 minutes. While the epidural was great, it affected my heartbeast (super high for a while 140 bpm) and made my blood pressure decrease. They said it was caused by the epinephrine but at the time, it freaked me out because my heartbeat was so fast and hard - and I felt so dizzy. This feeling lasted about 30 minutes. Apparently this is not uncommon - so just wanted to let you ladies know so you don't get scared. I have had 2 epidurals in the past and never reacted this way.

I felt great right after Harper came out and can't believe how lucky I have been with my recovery. We brought her home on Oct 31 and have just been overwhelmed with how blessed we are with her. She is perfect - just like everyone else here feels about their babies. Since I have been home, we are getting to know each other and the breastfeeding has been going well - except I got mastitis a few days ago - which is very painful. My friend realized what it was so I was able to get medication right away. Now things are going well but this breastfeeding this is not for the weak. It feels like a fulltime job - that I love.

Best of luck to all of you who are still waiting for your bundles of joy.

So happy to hear about all these babies and eveyone's progress. I delivered thing one and two this am. We decided we should finally name them. Baby a is Alexis Brianne and baby b is Kenzie Elise. Here is something I didn't know about twins, the are not always born together. Alexis was born at 1:19 and Kenzie at 5:39. Although pushing was quick, slow labor. I look forward to reading up on each of you on my vacation here at the hospital.

congrats Pookie, so glad that all went well, i guess the time space between the girls is because you delivered vaginally, the time span makes them all that more individual! What are their weights? and when do the three of you get to come home!!!

Luvmyfamily- congrats on your little girl! I have never heard of that reaction to an epidural, sorry you had to experience that.

AFM- I went to GNC yesterday and got some fenugreek and mother's milk tea! I still am not producing that much milk, but am going to try everything because I am enjoying nursing my Willie. i am still supplementing, I am pumping and I nurse either before or after to top him off. I can't believe he is going to be 3wks on Monday, the time is flying by!!!!

Wishing all of us that are still awaiting the arrival of their LOs, lots of labor soon!!!!

there are so many congratulations in order

Pookie - welcome to those baby girls so happy everyone is happy and healthy!!

Jackie, Trish and Luv - congrats to you on welcoming your little bundles

afm, i am so afraid that i have so much pelvic, groin and lower back pain along with constant bh contractions that i wont know when labor starts. there is no comfortable position left and i can barely walk nevermind the fact that i can no longer get on underwear or pants...my belly is straight forward. i am issuing eviction notices immediately and started eating some pineapple today. i know i am only 35 weeks but i feel like they are just fine and i feel like i might keel over from the pain. dying for some good drugs immediately and that is coming from someone who does not normally in life even pop a tylenol.

michelle - i did the 24 hr collection wednesday morning to thursday morning, dropped it off at the lab and expected a result that day. called yesterday and nothing. not so happy about that but my bp was a bit better on thursday so i am hoping for the best.
