alg - The retained placenta wasnt painful just the side effects did a number on me. I would have bouts of dizziness and light headed to the point I thought I would pass out. They realized that there were parts of placenta still there on November 4th when they did the first ultrasound. They gave me medication which was supposed to contract my uterus and hopefully expel the product. That didnt work and I had to fight with doctors for a week and a half to get another ultrasound done because they figured it was all gone. The second one showed it was still there. My family doctor wanted a D&C that day but the OB clinic refused at that time so I was given the same medication again that didnt work the first time. A week later with no changes they decided that a D&C would be best. The medication I was put on was what bothered me the most, I couldnt eat or stand up straight and lost over 20lbs in 5 days. It definitly wasnt fun.
tracy - Hope your feeling better and wont have to go to the ER anymore. I really want to get pictures done with Santa but am unsure with the H1N1 and flu season.
