My little girl is here!

Ladies Congratulations to you on having your LOs !!!!

Michelle, I'm also struggling with BF. I will write a bit more about this when i get a few minutes. I hope your LO is doing better.

Here is my birth story:

I was already overdue quite a few days so finally OB decided to schedule me for an induction on Sunday November 15th which was 11 days after my due date. Luckily in the morning on Sunday at 6:23am my contractions started on their own, so we went into the hospital as scheduled but didn't need an induction after all. I was 2 cm dilated at 8:00am and things didn't really progress much so doctor broke my water and that brought me right to 3 cm. Also I was started on something to speed up the contractions (can’t remember the drug name) At around 2 pm I asked for spinal which was great! At around 9:00pm I was 10 cm and ready to push, but the doctor still wanted to wait for the baby to come down one more centimeter. That didn't really happen so at 11:15pm I started to push and after half hour babies heart beat started to lower at the end of each contraction so DR decided to use a vacuum. Just with four pushes we welcomed our sweet little Julia Stephanie at 12:23am on Nov 16th 2009. She weight 8 LB and 11 oz and was 20.5 in long. My hubby and I count’s stop our tears from flowing when we first saw her for the first time from the joy of finally having her with us. We are so blessed to have our little angel.

To all the ladies that have not given birth yet, good luck hope you have a smooth delivery.

Favorite moments are when I hold her close to my chest

alg - The retained placenta wasnt painful just the side effects did a number on me. I would have bouts of dizziness and light headed to the point I thought I would pass out. They realized that there were parts of placenta still there on November 4th when they did the first ultrasound. They gave me medication which was supposed to contract my uterus and hopefully expel the product. That didnt work and I had to fight with doctors for a week and a half to get another ultrasound done because they figured it was all gone. The second one showed it was still there. My family doctor wanted a D&C that day but the OB clinic refused at that time so I was given the same medication again that didnt work the first time. A week later with no changes they decided that a D&C would be best. The medication I was put on was what bothered me the most, I couldnt eat or stand up straight and lost over 20lbs in 5 days. It definitly wasnt fun.

tracy - Hope your feeling better and wont have to go to the ER anymore.

I really want to get pictures done with Santa but am unsure with the H1N1 and flu season.
