Lisa, I'm glad that this time around you are going to demand to be seen more. Luckily my OB is great, I prefer him to my RE and he knows that. So after my first pregnancy, the ecoptic, he treated me as high risk with Ethan. I went in for my first ultrasound at 5w6d and saw nothing more then the gestational sac so he said, come back in 6 days and we did. We saw the heartbeat at 6w5d. Then he saw me at 8 weeks, 10 weeks and 12 weeks before putting me on the once a month schedule like normal patients. This time I'm not so sure what he's going to do. I know I have my ultrasound tomorrow and then my first appointment scheduled for the 25th.....I wonder if he'll see me in two weeks or four after that?

Jen- Good luck at tomorrow's appt!

Sky - Not sure why they won't do a u/s early...mine is doing mine at just over 5 weeks. I'm also super high risk since I've had an ectopic, which is probably why they are so urgent.

Jen,
That is great that you were monitored closely with Ethan! I think that any reassuarace is good when you are pregnant. Do you think they will stick with the same protocol this time if you ask? How do you feel about being seen monthy rather then bi-weekly?

How to tell the family.....hmmmm......well, we already told my parents and DH's parents. Last time I waited until after the u/s to tell them and honestly the secrecy was so hard on me. I am really close to my Mom. After the m/c she was a HUGE support so when we found out we are pregnant again I did not hesitate to spill. DH told his folks since they are his support system. Right now we needed them to know since this is scary to be here again and could use any support and understanding. The first time around I did a scrapbook with u/s photo and poems to announce the news. I am sad we did not do it this time in a very dramatic fashion but thats ok.

I love to hear the "breaking the news" stories ladies so fess up!

Well we told everyone a little differently. We told DH's family first, because honestly they know more about what's going on and they are way more supportive. I have a LOT of family drama so I had to be really careful. I have 4 sister so I called them in alphabetical order and still my oldest sister was mad I didn't tell her first.

We just told our family over the phone. Dh's family had been praying for us for a long time so we told them very early on. Infact they were asking the day we tested, because they knew everything that was going on.

My DH has a brother who is a missionary in serbia so for him and his wife we posted a "news" link on our webpage http://www.easysite.com/tararobandmaddy and sent him an email to check it out. He later called my dh over skype to tell him congrats! That was the most creative way we told anyone.

Tara, I hear you on the family drama side - that is DH's family for us. I love that you added that announcement. Such a neat idea.

Lisa, this time around we didn't do anything neat either - at least for those that already know. I love that you scrapbooked your first. I wrote a letter "the story of" kind of thing for my Jordan, the one I lost via ectopic. I never had a picture and my HPTs lost their line around the same time I lost him, strange but true.

Well I think I've mentioned this before but I'll mention it again. We are going to make the big announcement Sunday during Ethan's 1st birthday party. He has an "I'm the big brother" tshirt to wear. It'll be interesting to see how many pay attention and ask questions. But if they don't we'll announce it on our own. Should make for an interesting party.

telling the family- well we had always said when we started our IF journey that we wouldn't tell until later in the first trimester......but as luck would have it we thought it was just going to be us and the fur kids for quite some time as I was scheduled to have a lap/d&c this past monday that would be followed by 6-12 mos of danazol.....so when AF was not here I had to test monday morning before we left for the surgery, we got the , called the DR's office to cancel and have BW ordered, then we called our parents, everyone was kind of like "oh ok, well when will they reschedule?" and we were like "well, we don't need that surgery right now, cuz we did it on our own!"
we only told the people that knew I was having the surgery, the rest will find out after my first appointment, or later depending on how we feel about telling!

Jen - That must have been so scary, I'm glad everything turned out ok and you got to see the sac & good luck tomorrow!

Makenalelu - congratulations on the amazing beta, I think you're having more than one! re: being super bloated, I am too! I look about 5 months pregnant! However, in a different thread (I think) I was told it could be mild OHSS from the fertility drugs, which apparently often appears when you get pregnant - herta told me to drink V8 or gatorade (i.e. extra salt) and it's really helped me!

Lisa - , and your dog is adorable!!

Alg75 -

Skydaisy - congrats on getting an earlier u/s, I'm so jealous!! BTW you should definately see a yolk & gestational sac & hopefully a fetal pole, but don't be worried if you don't hear the heartbeat, they say that some women don't hear it until around 7.5 weeks (some do).

If anyone wants their details updated below, let me know!!

AFM - I'm glad others have mentioned the constipation, that's my biggest issue right now (besides bloating & starting to get terrified over the scan... which is 2.5 weeks away, don't know how I'm going to last that long)!!!
