Mom2- great photos. That cake looks delicious!

Arudegirl- You look great!

afm- got my flu shot today.
Tomorrow a doctor's visit and u/s. I can't wait to see the baby!
Last u/s was at 19weeks along with the amnio.
And last week my ankles swelled a little bit. But that may be due to what I ate...rice a roni for lunch and an arby's roast beef sandwich for late lunch. A bad food day! But so tasty.

Hallie-thanks for posting the swine flu articles.

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a while, but I'm still reading! I can't believe that we're all getting so close to the end. Things are going pretty well with me, except that I have been really been suffering with awful hemorrhoids (sorry if that's TMI, but it is a common pregnancy symptom!). I hope none of you are afflicted. I've had to miss a few days of work I was in so much pain.

Other than that, things are going well. My glucose and anemia tests came back fine, and I'm visiting the doctor every two weeks now. We're still struggling with a name.

I'm getting the flu shot tomorrow, and will get the swine flu one whenever it's available. My OB strongly recommended it.

Hey all

jamsum-glad to hear that you are doing well besides hemroids, yes i have heard they are a bad side effect, hope it gets under control for you.

babyquest-enjoy your u/s they are wonderful!

me-fingers have been quite swollen by the end of the day, not feet or ankles. As far as the h1n1 goes, still have heard the results on preggo testing yet so I'm waiting for that, even if I hear it they won't know if there were side effects that harmed the baby. For sure dh will get it and I will get it after the baby is born if not before.

So, dh's mom called me all concerned about the h1n1 virus and she was so worried and loves us both. I swear I can't get a good read on that women. Her and dh's sis will drive 4 hours for the baby shower then drive back the same day. Guess its better than nothing and easier that way for all included.

Have a great day!

jamsum- ouch! I didn't realize hemmoroids could cause that much pain. Please take care and continue to feel better.

Today I had an ultrasound. Baby is doing well. She's 2 1/2 lbs. And it was great fun to confirm the bump I've been feeling all morning on my right side was her tiny bum. Her head was on my lower left side and she faced away from the camera. The tech was able to get a slightly better view but baby was staying put! Just amazing!

Also the doctor and I talked about birth plan. We're now considering a scheduled c-section due primarily to my age. I will turn 41 on Dec. 9th and baby is due Dec. 28th. I'm in fine health but doctor said it should be an option for me to decide ahead of time if I'd like to go that route. I don't see any problems with it and we have some time to decide. Healthy me and baby is all we want.

Hey Ladies....

It is crazy windy elsewhere???

I just got back from the MFM appt. and I am so stinkin happy....

My Cervix is 3.1 cm which means it grew almost a whole inch (last time was 2.4 cm). The baby measured 2 lbs 9 oz, had a HB of 147 bpm, and right on schedule for his/her due date.

I am sooooooooooooo relieved. I won't need the terbutaline pump or hospital bed rest for now

Question..........Is anyone else leaking from the boobs?
I got some more gifts in the mail today and one being a nipple shield and when I tried it on to make sure it was the right size (I registered for the large but my friend got the smaller size) and I noticed I had clear fluid coming out...Anyone else?

mom2--congrats on the cervix length! That's fantastic news.

babyquest--I'm also 41, and my doc hasn't said anything about a scheduled c-section. How does maternal age come into play in the decision?

Hey guys! I am glad to see everyone is doing well.

About a month ago I battled hemmorhoids as well. They are miserable- I think it is from all the pressure down there. I started really paying attn to my diet- adding daily bran muffin and lots of veg and constantly moving positions and it is so much better- I hope yours get better too!

I have felt kind of blue lately- low energy- getting over a cold and ick- hopefully that's all it is. I just feel so tired all the time- anybody else here?

Hallie- I am glad to hear your in laws are coming to the shower! That's great news and yes prob better they are driving in and then out...

Jess- what great news about your cervix!

Take care guys and talk to you soon!

bocarn-hope you feel better. Not sure if i'm more tired but the heat is really getting to me as i have been saying. Been a busy week so far so I 'm gong to say inside today and take it easy.

Watching my mom's dog makes me realize how to take care of two, um mean 3 including dh at the same time. Our dog is hyper, her dog is calm, and have to feed them at different times, good practice. We notice that our dog gets a bit jealousy when dh gives attention to the other dog. Good to know this stuff now.

have a great preggo day!

no longer m.i.a.

hi ladies,
yes. i have been out of the loop for such a long time now. i do take time to read about everyone fairly frequently but have not posted in forever....

my pregnancy this time around has been super challenging. i have been tired most of the time and having a hard time sleeping and relaxing. lately i've had this pain in an isolated place on my belly and after numerous tests and such, it's not being explained. it just gets worse when i am more active and goes away when i rest. so uncomfortable though. the biggest challenge for me has been balancing my life. i am worried about what this means when the baby comes. having a 22 month old little ACTIVE boy and a full time work schedule makes life full and being 32 weeks along in this pregnancy makes any little thing that feels hard totally magnified.

i think being pregnant with a girl is different...or at least having a toddler at the same time changes everything. i am a work in progress-trying to balance it all but can't say i've done much of it gracefully lately.

my partner is great-doing her best to be supportive but she can only do so much. i am the working one in the couple (she lost her job in June) so i've been taking on extra clients and staying at the office late nights to balance our bills and finances. she does most of the "work" stuff around the house and with our son but regardless, some of it falls on me too of course.

we are debating trying for a VBAC and time will tell. our OB wants to wait until the 36 week exam to make more of a recommendation but i am all for considering it rather than having a repeat c-section and coming home to a 2 year old who loves to be held!!

ok. a bit of my story. i have enjoyed keeping up with all of you and plan to be more involved on this home stretch. 8 more weeks at most (6-7 if i do the c-section)...can't believe it!!!!!

cheers to all.
elena

Eac/Elena-Nice to hear from you.

C-section questions...Well I mentioned to the doctor that I was nervous about any complications and he said he normally would not recommend scheduling a c-section but at my age there tends to be a higher rate of complications during labor. It is something we're supposed discuss throughout these next few weeks. In terms of baby size, health, my health. And yes, I'm chicken of this whole having the baby come out.
I think the doctor wanted to assure me we'd do everything to ease any fears I have. And he also mentioned he felt I did not need to be a superhero after the long road to get here.
So we'll see...Tonight we're off to our birthing class after some tasty bbq for dinner.

Mom2-Great news about your cervix!
