Amber- I'm here, just having a lazy day. Didn't do any baking. Everytime I think I'm getting better, BAM both nostrils plug up and the sinus pain comes back. I bought saline mist today and have been using it, but am not sure yet if it's working.

Andrea- Hope your hubby mends soon! And yay! On the pediatrician!

Ugh you guys I feel like crap. I have a feeling this won't be good. I never get colds they always turn into sinus infections and take about a week to get over with antibiotics. At least if my Yankees win tonight ill be happy and then my girls can wear onesies of the world series winner!

Andrea hope your DH feels better! You have to compress the pictures for a website and then save the smaller one and then post that pic. Once you figure it out its easy

i'm sorry everyone is still feeling so yucky. i'm still stuffed up from all this sinus stuff but hopefully it's not an infection and will eventually go away.

does anyone know when we start going to the OB every 2 wks instead of every 4 wks (for singletons)? i was just curious. i'm starting to get nervous about my glucose tolerance test since i've been eating all this candy. lol! also, when can we start feeling the actual baby from the outside? like, where you can say, oh, that's his head, etc. i feel like my lower stomach is getting really hard and my upper stomach is pretty firm too. the baby websites say the uterus is as big as a basketball now and i'm like, woah! i don't know why i have a hard time picturing that since my belly looks like i swallowed a basketball but for some reason i keep thinking that's just my intestines. lol!

crob -- I had my appt on Oct 23rd, and my OB said my next and last "month stretch" would be this month. After that I believe we're supposed to start going every two weeks, and in the final month (more or less), it should be every week until the babies are here. It's going by quickly, isn't it?

Ladies, I'm so sorry to hear you're all feeling ill. My husband came down sick about a week and a half ago, and I started to get sick this past Sunday... I was worried I'd catch whatever he's got. But it lasted about 48 hours, and now I've got nothing more than some minor sniffles and nose blowing. If any of you can do it, get all the extra rest you can, and drink water, water, water... It will wash the crud and bugs out of your system faster than anything else.

AFM -- Having thought for the longest time that we wanted to name our son Marius, now he just doesn't "feel" like a Marius. So we're searching for new names, and dang this is hard! I've gone through Elijah, Elias, James, Gabriel and Luke... And none of them feel "right" to me. Uggh.

At this rate I may let this little man be born, learn to talk, and name himself.

Crob - at my last appointment, my dr said he's gonna start seeing me more often. My next appt is scheduled for 27w5d. I think the 32 week mark is the norm for starting the biweekly appoinments for singletons, but I could be mistaken.

Lia - I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with names. Hopefully soon you'll just hear or read a name and it will click. It would be nice if you could leave it up to him to name himself, though! lol If I'm remembering this correctly, the Olympic skiier Picabo Street was called "Little Girl" until she was 2 b/c her parents wanted her to name herself, so I guess anything's possible!

How are all my sick girls feeling this morning??

Off to get my H1N1 vacc. Be back a lil later.

Hi ladies, I am here on the couch. My throat feels like it has broken glass in it. Spoke to my ob and I can take extra strength tylenol which has helped a lot and he is going to call in a zpack for me bc I am coughing up some really nasty stuff. Pretty sure I have an upper respiratory infection. Oh well I get to cuddle with paisley and spend time witn DH, who works from home. Everyone else, I hope you feel better!

Imagiccat when I feel better ill help you with names.

Crob, I think after my next ob appt which is about 3 weeks is when I start to go more often. Definitely by 28 weeks.

Paisley -- Right now I'll take all the name help I can get. Honestly, I stumped.

How are any of you managing to get your nurseries done? (Paisley, yours is gorgeous, by the way). I've got the bassinet set up in our room for now, because the baby won't have his own nursery until some time in March, due to shifting humans in the house. I can't figure out where to put baby clothes until then, and aside from finally having registered for a crib bedding set at BabiesRUs, all I can think of in terms of decorating is the vaguest of "blues and greens".

I think you all must be miles ahead of me.

imagiccat, don't be so hard on yourself. you have other kids to take care of right? i think for those of us who don't have any other kids, its a little different, we are so hyper focused so give me some name parameters-what do you like, dislike? any letters to use or avoid? it helps to look at some websites for ideas.

Ablessing - I hope the meds help you eat & drink!!

Paisley - So sorry you have a cold. Yuck!! Hope you can kick it quickly.

Yoga - I'm so looking forward to seeing movement! I remember sitting across from my SIL & seeing her shirt move. I was shocked, I had no idea you could see that! She laughed & said Gabrielle was kicking up a storm. Very cool stuff. Love you bump & the short hair!

Crob - I love (& hate) my netti pot. It's an uncomfortable feeling to use the first few times, but it does such a great job of flushing the sinuses out & calming swelling.

I haven't picked out a pedi yet. I need to ask my friends who they recommend.

imagiccat - I've had 5 years to think about a nursery & what we wanted to do for either sex. Carter's room is based on a ceiling fan that we bought on clearance 3 or 4 years ago! It's a baseball mitt globe with bats for the blades. Hence the sports themed room. And I'm OCD, so everything gets planned pretty quickly & then I'm left twiddling my thumbs. My first wedding, was completely planned in less than 30 days, from engagement to I had a dress, bridesmaids dresses, tuxes, location, caterer, cake...I do mean everything done! It's a blessing & a curse.

Lia - I'm in the same boat All of Marius' clothes and shoes are in underbed storage boxes, in my dresser, and in boxes stacked 3 ft. high in my closet. My cousin is supposed to (keyword: supposed) be getting his own place, so all the crap that he has in the spare room over here (bookshelf, dresser, display case) is supposed to go with him. However, his 32-y/o sister (who left the nest for the first time last year), still has yet to remove her crap from over here, and it is now occupying our entire downstairs family room. Their mother does not hold them accountable for any of their $hit, but if I left even a box of $hit in a common area when I left, she would be up one side of me and down the other. Grrrr. I hate them. Anyway, IF he moves all his crap out of the spare room, them maybe DH and I can do some rearranging and have some kind of space for DS other than the corner of our bedroom where the minicrib will go. It definitely sucks having to wait, but it'll happen!!! Hang in there!

Got my H1N1 earlier. Absolutely exhausted now. I think DH's cold is starting to set in, because I always get tired really fast when my immune system is starting to fight something. Blahhhhhh. Tylenol and vitamin C will be my BFF's this week, I think.

I think Molly explained it best about the nursery...we've been planning it for 3 years...so during the first trimester I had to hold my hubby back from starting to do work on it...but I could only hold him off so long..hence, ours was done super-early. Same thing with baby items...we have a ton b/c family has been dying to shop for our baby since our first comments about starting fertilty treatment years ago (plus, I think some items were bought when we announed our last pregnancy but ended up m/c)! So, we are seriously on our way to being ready for this baby! I think if I had other kids, I would be just as excited but less materialistic about it and I'd be busy with the other kids! Its like I want the house to look baby friendly:-)

The hospital just called to tell me that my L&D tour scheduled for 2 weeks from Sunday has been cancelled since the hospital is now on "limited visitation" due to the H1N1 outbreak. Ugh. They said they'd call back in about a month, hopefully by then the flu will have peaked and they can schedule us into a group in January..if not, oh well...

I got some great pedi recommendations from friends and one of them coincided with a few other and a recommendation from the pedi cardiologist so I called them and I have an appointment to meet with them in about a month (But they also said, give it a month b/c right now we are overrun with the flu and we don't want you to catch it!).

And still no vaccine in sight for me...It seems the OB only does the thimerosol-free version and that is the one that is delayed...but no other clinic that I am aware of locally has it...so I wait...

Also - a friend of mine recommended a CD of baby noises from an online site called "dog meet baby" to get my dogs ready for the baby. They love kids and babies but have a tendency to get excited and want to lick them if they are loud. So, I got a CD, put it on and my dogs started turning their heads left and right, looking for the baby everywhere and then started whimpering. Poor things. I guess the idea is to teach them to be calm amid the chaos and noise....hopefully this will help!
