Hi all,
Bed rest officially sucks right now! I am the award winner of who can hold the couch down the longest! Any ideas on how to stay sane/busy, I am sick of tv, internet, and reading. All I can do is stare out the window and the lovely spring/summer night. I know this is for a good reason and I hopefully only have till Wed but ideas would be great.

Pups- On your u/s, and thank you for starting this thread.

Arich-I have never used that form of p4, but I would not feel bad for asking for p4 test early if you need the peace of mind.

Holi,Lisa and Kay-I am looking forward to getting to know you especially under such great circumstances.

JDW-Are you ready for your b-day celebration. Thanks to friends and family Trinity's party is set to go on tomorow. We just called most friends and told them we were just going to have family there. It will be small.

AFM-After a lot of talking, I got to come home from the hospital tonight. When I got home, there was a team of people here to support me. I really like my home nurse, and I feel like she is very supportive. I have full nutrition (TPN) around the clock going through my veins, and the most powerful meds there are injected through my veins. All of this, and still so sick. I really struggled to get through a single preg, but twins are really kicking my a,,. My ob finally told me today how scared he was for me, and along with his big hug came my breakdown in his arms. He told me he has seen me sicker than any other patient he has ever had in my other preg, and he felt I was the strongest person he knew, but it would be ok if I needed to reduce this preg by one or two babies. He said everyone's body has a breaking point. Can you all believe how hard we work to get through IVF, and then I am supposed to throw in the towel. I pray I get a break soon so I can find some peace. I am in such emotional and physical he.., so I could really use your prayers. I am sorry for such a long post, but I needed to vent my fears.

Amanda: Good luck tomorrow morning, I took 2 valium the morning of my transfer. I was so sick I puked the first one on the way to the office, then I took the second one when I got there. I really didn't notice any differences though.

schumachm: Sorry to hear that you have been so sick, is it the hyper-stim? I bet it feels good at least to be home and in your own environment. Looking forawrd to getting to know you too.

Bitsniu: This is the worst time for bedrest, but I bet I'll be hating the heat in a month or two. Do you have any hand-held electronic games to play?

bits - sorry about the bedrest. How about calling friends and relatives this weekend? It would be a great opportunity to catch up with people you haven't talked to in awhile.

schum - I'm glad you're out of the hospital. Sorry to hear that you are still so sick.

AFM - I'm getting ready for a big b-day pool party at my house for my son, Colin, this Sunday. He just turned five. I'm estimating there will be 8 kids and about 14 adults based on who RSVPed. It should be big fun. I love planning parties.

On a pregnancy note, for the past two days I've been having some mild cramping. I hope that just means that my uterus is stretching and not anything bad. I'm trying to stick to my pledge of not worrying about things that I can't do anything about.

Sorry I have been MIA lately! I have been tired and not in the mood for anything. Anyhow I am not getting m/s I have found that I can't eat dairy or greasy foods if I do my stomach gets all upset. I asked to be taken off my prog. shots...my poor butt hurts all the time and they are allowing me to do suppositories for the next 4 weeks!!!! Not sure about all of you but I am sick of people telling me to practice by holding babies...I just say I just want to hold my own thanks. Also kinda tired of people telling me oh wait you are going to ________. Fill in the blank with anything pregnancy or baby related. I just think...really I will how do you know the future...amazing!!! Maybe its the hormones talking but I have been waiting for this for so long I feel prepared for what I am going to do.


SCH: I can't believe you are still having so many problems. I am so sorry. You are a strng and powerful women and it sounds like you have so many people to support you. Keep up the faith and positive attitude.

JDW: You are doing good at staying positive...I like the new dont worry attitude, its very important I think! Have fun at the pool party, I dont know how you will have the energy for all that. Take a long nap I guess huh?

Bits: I made the switch to my OB and it was good. Its nice because I was driving far and paying out of pocket and now its close and covered! I do feel my OB wasnt really happy about the IVF twin thing but whatever...she was nice just weird about it. I also got the feeling she really likes to do C-sections and I DO NOT want to unless it is medically necessary. There are 4 dr.'s at this place and I still havent met the others so hopefully they are cooler about the IVF twin thing. Stupid octa-mom ruined IVF reputation!!!

Good morning everyone! I had my five day transfer this morning and we transferred two "perfect" blasts. My RE said my cycle couldn't have gone any better, the blasts look any more perfect and my transfer been any smoother so I am super excited! He said I have the highest chance of success...70%!!!!!!!!!! Also, I have six snowbabies already!!! And they are watching some others that may be frozen tomorrow! This has been such a wonderful experience so far! Now, I just hope June 18 gets here fast!

Woo hoo - we've made it! When I told my hubs that we graduated he gave me a knuckle bump and a big grin.

Bits - Sorry you're stuck on bedrest. I was thinking logic puzzles or sudoku might be ok to pass the time or help you fall asleep.

Schumachm - It's great that you were released to go home to such a great support system. The fear can be really unnerving but I'll be rooting for you!

jdw - I love the affirmations & thanks for sharing!

Elizabeth - Ugh, I know what you mean about the octomom stuff. Whenever I've told folks about having to do IVF they instantly come back with "Oh, you can be like the octomom". I tell them that I'm nothing like the octomom. So annoying.

Amanda - WOO HOO! Congrats on the ET this morning! I'm so happy that you had such a great cycle and 70% is awesome! Take good care of yourself and be as lazy as you can be.

Shannon - great U/S! How exciting it must be to see the heartbeat & I bet it made it "real".

Kay - twins?! WOW!! When is your next U/S?

Dee - It looks like all the baby love and prayers helped your little baby B catch up to his/her brother or sister. Congrats on graduating to the OB! Are you still going to be seen by a high risk OB?

Lisa - I've been getting queezy lately too either in the morning or in the evening. It's time to sleep with the crackers on the bed side table, I think.

AFM - I'm doing ok, just really tired at this point. I've been waking up in the middle of the night a few times throughout the night - either I cannot get comfortable, I gotta potty, or cramping/tugging (which I've felt consistently since ET). Dee, I'm hoping I get some of your luck and it'll go away soon. I'd love to be able to sleep 4-5 hours straight.

My first ultrasound is Monday - finally!!!

Wish! I've been missing you. So glad to hear from you and read that you and your babies are well. Yes, I understand how all of the unsolicited pregnancy advice is annoying, especially when you feel tired & queasy. Just wait until your twins are born - I'll bet you get a lot more attention than with a singleton and have to endure many silly questions from strangers such as, "are they twins?"

arich - Great news on your transfer. I'm sending lots of sticky thoughts your way.

celly - GL on your u/s on Monday! I'll be looking for an update on your results. I'm one day behind you for scan #2 on Tuesday.

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to get a consensus on what everyone is experiencing symptom wise. I have absolutely NOTHING except I often find myself lightheaded or dizzy (I think this is due to my high level of progesterone). I am getting nervous that my breasts are not tender or appear to be swollen, I am not nauseus, I have no aversions to smells or foods, I am no longer tired. Like I said dizzy. lightheaded, and during the night I have to get up to pee like 2-3 times per night. So please share and let me know if you think I am reading too much into things or if everything wiht baby a can still be good. I cant wait for my US Wed. I that I see my little peanut in there with his/her heart beating away.

I agree with the stupid comments...at least every other person I tell about IVF says "Oh, are you gonna be like the Octomom?" So stupid. I do know, from my cousin who has twelve week old identical twins (no fertility treatments) that you get a TON more attention and questions, and unwanted advice, from people, mostly strangers, when you have twins. She also has a three year old and she said it is amazing the different level of people being nosy and offering advice. She said she sees twins everywhere so she doesn't understand why it's such a big deal to people. Just yesterday a stranger asked if she was still breastfeeding and she said she had just stopped, (cause she was having some issues and was already very guilty about it) and this woman went on to make her feel bad cause she breastfed longer with her twins. My cousin was really upset. People need to mind their own business!

Bits- I will let you have some of my pukey feelings Really- Some ladies really don't feel anything and others get to feel everything.... I think baby can be totally fine and you not feel anything. I know my sil never had any signs and had 4 healthy babies. You would still not know you were if you didn't do IVF. Hang in there! Maybe they can move up your u/s... worrying is not going to help... SO YOU ARE ! Can't help you on bed rest... I am really bad at it myself... Can start your Christmas cards

Schum- Glad you are out- and getting lots of help. So were you in the hospital as much with your other kids?

Celly- you always write the best posts-- you cover a lot and are not long winded... like me... Can't wait to here how many little ones are in there!!!!

I have had a lot of cramping today--- trying to stay positive... jdw- thought of you. I know I am doing all I can...it is hard not to think about it.

- SO I was trying to figure out how we were telling people about ...and realized we have to figure out WHAT we are going to tell people. No one knows we did IVF and we do not have twins in my family. My sil had twins but that was her family. So was planning on lying to my family. There is a higher chance in having twins when you are over 30- so was going to say I have a ovulation issue....some months one egg and some month 2 eggs.
I know it sounds bad -lying about your babies but my family has big mouths and really don't want to have my nieces telling my babies they were made in a test tube- and they will if they know...and all of the neighborhood kids and their families would know... there would be no stopping. I think it is no ones business but ours. I have hear a lot of people are being asked if their twins are natural or from IVF...and I don't think I could take telling everyone how we my dh sperm are funky.
I can get away with lying to strangers by saying we have twins in my family-I mean they are my nieces but just not twins from my blood line.
Anyone have any thoughts... what will you say when asked about your twins???

JDW-I am so happy for Colin. It sounds like he is going to have a great birthday because he has such a great mom. Keep up the positive thoughts. I have been using your affirmation, so thanks for sharing. I will be praying for good results on Tuesday.

Celly-My doc always says to try some benadryl before bedtime when preg for some sleep. I take it every 6 hours to help with nausea. I hope you get sleep soon.

Wish-It is good to hear from you. I understand how seriously stupid people really are. I love when people ask me how I will ever handle two kids and then twins. I really want to say how the he.. do you think, but I always say I am a teacher so I am used to 30 at a time. I think I can handle 4. I could go on for hours.

Bit-I really think you are ok because I have read that lots of women have no symptoms. It must be so hard to be in your shoes right now. I have more symtoms than I can handle, and here you are just wanting something for reassurance. I wish I could share. Take it from someone who was on bedrest all 40 weeks with both my other children because of how sick I was, bedrest is thr worst. I tried to write a journal each day to my kids, so they would know how much I love them.

Lisa-I actually have hyperemesis. It is severe nausea and vomiting, and I had it all 40 weeks with my other two. This time it is even worse because I have two placentas.

AFM-I hope I remember to paste due date this time. Trinity had a great birthday. I woke up this morning and weighed myself like the nurse said too, and I have gained 8 pounds in three days on TPN, on top of the 44 pounds I gained with ohss I am really getting big. I called to tell them my TPN is set too high, and they don't care. I refuse to gain 125 pounds again in this preg and never eat. I don't need 3500 cals a day. Nothing changed on sick front.

2pups: I totally agree that it is no one's business but your own. Even if twins don't run in your family it is not surprising that you would get pregnant with twins. I say just share the news and say you were so surprised that it was twins!

AFM: I still haven't gotten results from testing. I will follow up with my RE on Monday since I didn't hear from them this week. For you ladies that have had FET, what should I expect in terms of protocol & what was your cost in comparison to IVF? We plan to do FET soon. I'm just waiting for AF to arrive. Thanks ladies. I know I haven't achieved what you all have but I really want to follow my cycle buddies through their pregnancies!

Schu-I am so sorry you are feeling so sick. I am still not quite sure what you are going through that is making you so sick...is it the oHss? Can I ask what happened with your other pregnancies that you were on bedrest. I pray for you!

Pups-To funny about the christmas cards, I think my DH would look at me like I was crazy if I started them now in June, good idea though!
