Hello Ladies,
I wanted to clarify what is going on with me. My OHSS is almost gone, besides the fluid retension, but that will stay for the whole preg. It did last time. I actually have hyperemesis gravidarum, but what it is severe nausea and vomiting. It effects less than 5% of pg women, but it is very serious for both mom and baby. They really don't know why it effects some women, but it is usually related to high levels of hormones. It prevents you from eating or drinking anything, non-stop nausea. It is like having the worst belly bug ever and it never goes away until baby is born. They treat it with feeding you through the veins called TPN, and giving a drug coctail of Zofran, phenergan, benadryl,Zantac and B6. They also ward off dehydration with iv fluids. I had it all 40 weeks with both of my other children, and on average I spend about half my pg in hospital. Being pg with twins makes things way worse because there are two placentas making hormones. Twins make things a lot tougher to have healthy babies because being able to get enough nutrition and fluid for two is nearly impossible. If you have spare time on your hands google it and read the heartbreaking stories, it will make IF seem like a treat. It is not uncommon for women who have struggled so hard to get pg and get this then can't handle it and terminate pg. I am not sure how I get lucky enough for both. I hope this helps. Jody-I hope today is going great. Bit-I hope my book above helps. I really hope you can journal to your baby while on bed rest like I suggested in earlier post. My son gets his out all the time and we read it together. 2pups-I think you should tell people whatever you feel comfortable with. I have to warn you though if you decide to have other children with IVF, and the twins are old enough to know your secret will be blown. My DS tells everyone he comes in contact with about my ovaries, uterus and embies (now babies). Has anyone seen anything from CMB? I was just wondering how her OHSS is doing. Amaya-I am sure the no call means they really got busy, and they did not have any info. In the medical world, no news is good news, but I would be so frustrated if I were you. I hope the good news comes soon.

Snowbaby update
Got the call this morning that they froze three more blasts today! So that makes NINE snowbabies total!!! Six were frozen at day 5 and three at day 6! We are so excited...they said they don't usually have that many!
Dee---can't really help you with what to tell people because we will tell anyone who wants to know about our IVF. I guess I'm just such an open person that I don't mind them knowing. So far no one has been judgemental at all. But twins happen naturally ALL the time so just tell them you are pregnant with twins and if they have any questions, tell them that women get pregnant all the time with twins when two eggs are ovulated. I'm guessing your twins are fraternal...but if anyone ends up with identical and they don't want to tell about IVF, they can just tell them the egg split...both of these things happen every day naturally (even though identical twins are much more of a fluke, but it does happen). It's sad that all people can't view IVF as a medical procedure, just like heart bypass surgery or having your appendix out.

Hi All! There has been so many posts this weekend I know I won't be able to keep up so here we go. (I apologize in advance if I miss anyone)
Dee - My husband is a twin - and they are the only ones in the family. Sometimes it just happens - so if you don't want to explain anything to anyone, you don't have to. Good luck with whatever you decide. Amanda - Awesome transfer!!! And great news about the snowbabies - way to go. Isn't it a great feeling when you do better than what everyone expects!?! (My RE didn't think I would respond to the meds good and didn't think I would have that many eggs. I had 27 eggs - 1 transfered and 4 snowbabies...I don't think she thought we would have any to freeze. Ha - in her face!! Just kidding, I really do like her. But it felt good.) Bits - Everyone is different. I've just been tired (really tired) until yesterday when I started getting nauseous (sp?)...I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow. I've also had friend who weren't sick at all and had healthy babies. schu - I'm so sorry you feel that way. It really must be horrible. My friends cousin (I know it's sounds like an urban legend story or something but...) was also so sick with her daughter. She ended up loosing so much weight it was dangerous. Her Dr. told her to drink Guinness. Guinness!!! Can you believe that!?! I hope you feel a little better soon - or at some point of the pregnancy. It must all be worth it if you've done it before... Celly - Good luck tomorrow! Keep us updated. Amaya - Good luck with your results. I'd definitely call them tomorrow. Off to make some dinner...have a great night!

schum- wow-hyperemesis gravidarum-- is no picnic!!! won't here me complaining about my pukeyness anymore!!! Yes, I would totally talk to your dr about too much iv goodness --too much is not good either... make sure you write down your weight gain to show him!
Amaya- I tried 2 FETs - first FET--- I got really sick from the estrogen--kinda like over dosed - my doc was trying something different- it was canceled before getting very far but then I got a cyct -it was a non ovulated follicule because dr stopped me mid cycle... so that fet cost me a 3 month wait... so I count it even though there was no transfer. second FET- we decided to go somewhat natural...because my lining is normally fine and I don't have any known issues. So went in on day 2 of my cycle to make sure no cyst... and then no drugs at all .. around cd 10 I went in to get an u/s to see what my follicules looked like... went back I think at cd 12, cd 14 and then they put me on ganirellix to stop me from ovulating... took a trigger shot and did ET 36 hours later...did the prometrium. My clinic does assisted hatching on all frozen embryos and with it I took a steroid. My embryos were only day 3...we had to thaw all 7 inorder to get 3 good ones to transfer. Was a piece of CAKE compaired to a whole IVF cycle. I think it was the quality of the embryos--- that was bad. I think we have a genetic issue in our sperm to go along with the shape issue. If I had known I would have pushed to blast my first IVF and FET!! Out of our 9 this time only 2 made it to blast... and now we are preg with those 2. I did eat fresh pineapple and drink grape juice inbetween ER and ET this time... nothing else different... my lining has always looked good. The FET should have been much less expensive because not many drugs and no ER but our insurance didn't cover the AH. Hope that helps! Nite all... very tired today. bits - To answer your question about symptoms, I felt queasy until last week and now I feel much better. It freaked me out a little when my m/s stopped, but I guess it's not uncommon for m/s to come and go. The only new symptom to report is that my lower belly right above my hips feels firm to the touch now. No additional cramping, so I'm hoping it meant that the baby is growing and needs more room. How is bedrest going? How much longer do you have?
2Pups - I was thinking about who posted on the other thread. You should also PM brownbelt and tell her about the new thread. She posted a couple of times on the old thread and I believe is due in January also. As far as what to tell people about twins, I'd probably say that you were surprised about having twins since it really doesn't run in your family, but your doc said that couples in their 30's are more likely have twin and leave it at that. I would think that should satisfy people who feel compelled to ask you about it. AFM - The party went SO WELL. If I don't say so myself, I rock at planning parties (and I'm modest). My son loved everthing and we had a great turn out of guests. Most importantly, I was happy to be able to do something special for my son. He has a break this week between preschool and summer camp (which is also at his preschool, but they do more fun stuff, less academic in the summer). We live in Vegas, which you know is hot in the summer. So every day at summer school the kids wear their swimsuits in the morning and have water play (then change into their play clothes). How fun is that? I didn't grow up here and never got to wear my swimsuit to school. I think I'm jealous. My u/s is tomorrow, so I'll post an update and let everything know how it goes.

Hi Girls. Well...I found the new thread ok. You all feel like you are jinxing yourself?? LOL...I'm not even pregnant yet! I am waiting anxiously by the phone. I called my nurse again today...and of course she is out on a long weekend, but supposed to be back in tomorrow. I am going to call her a hundred times if I have to in order to find out what the heck is going on with my test results. Still haven't heard anything yet!! I have my AF full force now, so I guess there's no hope for this month. Have any of you done FET? Maybe you can offer some insight as to what the protocol is. Can I start the FET in the middle of my cycle if I get my test results back this week? I'm guessing no.
LisaM- Congrats on your . I see a few girls here from the May thread. Hoping to see a few more real soon.arichardson- 9 snowbabies is fantastic!! I have 4 blasts waiting anxiously to be implanted. (as long as the genetics test comes back good). Did I read that you are doing your transfer tomorrow? Good luck.shu-I've been thinking about you alot this week. How are you feeling today? I wish you lived in NJ..I'd come visit you in the hospital. ![]()

JDW-
on the great party. Collin will always remember that day. What a great mom you are, so take a bow. Can't wait for u/s tomorrow. Mouse. You are not jinxing yourself, rather submiting to positive thought. I feel like driving to that stupid clinic and breaking in for your results. I wish you lived close it would make my days go by so much faster with visitors.Kay-I can't imagine how hard it would be to have symptoms and then not. I am sure it is fine. It is just another cruel joke our bodies play on us. See JDW's post she is experiencing it too. Pups- Thanks for going to so much work to get everyone here. Wow, your fet expereinces sound fun. Waiting for blasts seems like your ticket. Arich-Wow, you can't go wrong with all those snow babies. You will be able to build your whole family from one round Bit-I hope time is flying, and you are feeling well. Holi-You crack me up. I am more of a wine person, but I would drink anything I thought would make me feel better. Lisa-I can't agree more. I really thought I could do this again, and now knowing what I know I wonder if I have brain damage. AFM-I saw my ob today, and had an u/s again. A meas 8w hb 163, B meas 8w1d, hb 182. They changed my tpn, and added seperate bags of fluid because blood work shows I am still dehydrated. Doc also told me he was going to be in Florida during my 37th week, and I cried. I really want him to deliver my babies. We agreed and told A and B they would have to wait for at least 38 weeks.

Hi guys! Finally caught up on the new thread. I've been away from the computer all weekend, so lots of catching up to do.
Good to see everyone's doing well! So sorry about the hyperem, Schumachm - sounds miserable. It'll be worth it in the end though, right? Bitsniu - I know exactly how you feel about the pregnancy symptoms! I hardly feel anything yet - sore/tingling BBs comes and goes, some cramping/twinges every now and then, and maybe a little more hungry more often than normal. But no exhaustion, queasiness, etc etc. I keep calling my sister (20 weeks preg) and SIL (7 weeks preg) and asking when I'll start feeling pregnant. They both say it's still too early. Just have to remember how good we feel now when we feel like crap a month from now! I'll feel much better after our US on friday so I know everything's going ok in there. I think this is the most up-to-date list of due dates: JDW (Jody) - 1/11 2Pups&ahub (Dee) - 1/21 twins LisaM (Lisa)-1/22 Singleton Holi521 (Shannon) - 1/24 Kayleia (Kendra) - 1/25 singleton 1/3 twins Wish/hope/cry (Elizabeth)- 1/15 twins Celly (Celia) - 1/27 Schumachm (Marsha)-1/18 twins Angellove (Angela) - 1/31
