Hall-Enjoy your time off. There is really nothing wrong with grandma's house, but grandma is a little relaxed. You soon will learn that it is a real leap of faith to let your baby go off with someone else. Grandma does not always buy into the modern way of taking care of kids. She refuses to follow the rules of what to feed them at what age, hence the drama with the food being stuck in Trinity's lung the last time she was there. Landin is allergic to eggs and nuts, and carries an epi pen with himself. Grandma would always give him something he was allergic to and he would get sick. They always go back to the fact they did it when we were young and we are fine. It is frieghtning to me.

kirsty-It is nice to have someone so knowledgable around. Your job sounds facinating. I used to be an engineer, but went back to get my master degree in teaching. I was a high school anatomy/phys teacher for awhile and I loved it. I am now starting a new chapter in getting my ph.d in physc. I love to reinvent myself to keep things fun.

Hope-How are you? Any updates.

I had a terrible reaction to the steroids. I guess it is not the answer I was looking for. It was a blow to my emtional status, but back together again. The peri himself keeps calling to check on me. How sweet is that?

schum-so sorry to hear about grandma and her ways. my mom would be alitle relaxed but not dangerous, she is a nurse and i trust her completely, now the inlaws are another story.

had a marathon shopping day and got my diaper bag today Petunia Pickle Bottom :: Collections :: Original Collection :: Boxy Backpacks :: Black Orchid Roll
also picked out my furniture Bonavita-Cribs so i've learned if it is not in stock you need a good amount of time to order, i'm slowly getting organized with everything that i need. we are going on our tours of hospitals next week and the week after and will keep on emptying the baby's room so we can start to fill it up again. it is now my hubby's music/photography room, those are his hobbies so we need to protect his man's room without losing out on anything. just not sure where the drums will go.

we have an u/s on monday at the peri just to check the spine. that was the only thing they couldn't see on the level 2 u/s and an ob appt on tuesday. my calender is filled.

have a have a great eveing ladies!

Hall-You sound like us. We have to buy everything all over again, because we thought we were done. We have to change everything in our lives to comply with two new babies. We have to buy new cars, two of everything baby, and we are finishing the last secontion of the basement to get a bigger playroom. Even though we have five bedrooms, we just don't have the right set up. We will eventually have to build a new house. When I start to think of all the money it will take I start to freak out. Grandma's house is my MIL, need I say anymore. My parents don't live close. It is fun to create the nursery, but I can't go shopping.

Wow - I read the posts and I feel SO behind! The 3rd bedroom is packed with sewing stuff and miscellaneous junk, and I haven't even thought of going shopping yet. I should sift through the stuff from DS and see how much is still usable. I kept everything, but didn't think it would take me 11 years to get around to using it again! I guess I want to get to that ultrasound and just make sure all is well.

schum-internet research is awesome! yeah we have a 4 bedroom house and you would think we would have enough room for everything, hubby is a keeper so we will have to throw some stuff out, doing little by little so when the time comes, i'm not stressing.

yeah-if i was having a boy, i have had 3 people that just had baby boys and they would have given me clothes, oh well.

Miracles do happen, so i told ya all that my mil sent me something for the baby and today my sil (hubby's sis) called me and applogized for how they have been acting since they have known me. It was such a shock and so hard for her to do. Dh is not convinced yet and will have to see actions but i'm an optomist, go rachael olivia for bring the inlaws/family around

Hall-I am so excited your sil made nice. It feels good to fit in, and be loved. Good for you, and what power Rachel has already. I love the name. Does it have a special meaning?

Eve-I am sorry about the bleeding. It is so frustrating, and just puts worry in the mind. I do bleed on and off but it is usually after severe vomiting. It still scares the pants off me. Twins seem to bring more complications from the start.

WTN-You are not behind, You are right on time. I am just freaking out because with all my complications and having twins, I just don't know what to expect. My dh is not moving as fast as I would like.

DH is framing up the rooms in the basement, but he backed my car into the garage while getting the lumber. That will put us back a few thousand to get that fixed. I wanted to kill him, but figured I would laugh instead. After all, I will be able to tell that story a lot at coctail parties.

schum-yes we are naming our daughter after my paternal grandmother her name was ruth and she was such a great lady, the best that i've ever known besides my mom and i feel honored that i can name my daugher after her. we also make peace with the inlaws because dh's paternal grandmother was rose

that is too funny about the lumber and garage, classic story. yes, you can either get upset or laugh, i can tell that you are a great mom with your relaxed way

eve-so sorry about the continued bleeding and its strange that is only on saturdays wish we could skip saturdays just for you so you wouldn't have the worry. hang in there.

wtn-no need to feel behind, if you don't special order anything you will be fine, i'm a planner and just feel better when i have a plan. my plan for birth/delivery and there after is to have no plan at all so i can at least still plan now!

Hi Ladies!

Can I join this thread? It is so true there are things only we go through and having an older group of women to talk to and compare notes with would be awesome!

My husband and I dated for two years, engaged for two. A month before we were going to get married, a gal ran into us on the passenger side and I broke my right shoulder in two places. Everyone else went to our destination wedding but us, so we postponed the wedding for a year. We have been married two years and started trying to get pregnant last September using ovulation predictor kits. I had a small fibroid pushing on the outside of my uterus, so had that removed in December. Even though the doctor and RE recommended that we try with our own eggs as mine were tested and I had a lot of them, FSH was 5, etc. we decided to move to DE instead. We had our first ET in April and got pregnant. We are now expecting twins - a boy and a girl on Christmas Eve.

I have not had any m/s and other than being really tired in 1st trimester, I have been doing great. Taking good care of myself, eating well, exercising and I absolutely LOVE being pregnant. I just started to show a "belly pooch".

We have also traveled all over the world, financially stable, etc., so are ready for this next phase of our lives. It may not be the timing I had wanted, but it is the timing that God gave me, so here I am!

Love to connect with all of you and hear your stories.

Love, health and a great week to you!

xxx

the Fox, and congrats on the pregnancy! It's so awesome to see all of these AMAs! I just found out that a friend and neighbor who (now 39) had difficulty conceiving just got her BFP! Her betas are high, so we're waiting to hear if it's twins. And I have someone to whom I can bequeath my ridiculously expensive size 34-F nursing bras! Yay!

Well, it's been an interesting long weekend with my baby. He's been barfing a lot ... and by that I mean that I feared he was becoming dehydrated and he's not putting on weight consistently. He goes through phases where he barfs a ton, then it seems to subside. He has been treated for reflux, but he is not a textbook case, and the meds don't seem to help. So it looks like we may be going for a pediatric GI consult. Fan-flipping-tastic. Oh, and did I mention that I had a suspicious growth biopsied off my face? Yeah, that was last Friday. I get the results late this week. But it's almost certainly not melanoma, so I'm not terribly worried about that.

Okay, enough about me. How are the preggers doing? Shumach, I'm sorry the steroids didn't work. I agree that it's sweet for the peri to call, but it would be sweeter if he could make you feel better!

More later.

Kathryn.

the fox and congrats on the twins.

eve- i'll keep my crossed for you too.

we went to get our little girl's spine checked yesterday at the peri and the first shot they were able to see it. We go to the ob today, my dh is so great and involved he goes to every appt and I'm so fortunate and he is going to be such a great daddy.

The fox-you reminded me that we haven't shared our how we met stories. Well, I was going out to LA for a girls weekend and hubby was going out for business. The funny thing is that I changed my weekend so I had to change my seats. Well, sat behind him and he was annoying me and even dropped his pillow for me to pick up. Well, when I picked up his pillow he was awe struck (his words) and couldn't find the words to talk to me for the flight. So, I was waiting for my friends to pick me up outside and he comes walking by. Meanwhile, he ran across LAX traffic and played it cool so I didn't know that he made an effort to find me. We realized that he and I were on the same flight home too and on the way back, made myself really tired so I could sleep, the red eye. Oh I live in Florida so long trip. He found me in the airport and remembered my name and I though he was some kind of motivational speaker because he was good with names. Anyways, we both borded the plane at the same time and his seat was closer to the front than mine. When we were bording the plane, there were a lot of people around and when we got to his seat, there was nobody else trying to get through. He was stumbling asking for my number so I gave him my card. He called that week, that was sept 07, we moved in together dec 07, got engaged jan 08 and got married one year from when we met. I've never moved that fast with someone before but what everyone says is true, when its right, its right.

Hope that wasn't too long for you all. Have a great day!

Hall-Great story. My dh comes to every visit with all the pgs so far. The nurses call him my shadow. I will have to share our story later.

Eve-I am praying for no more spoting.

Kath-I am sorry to hear about your little guy. I have a friend who's little boy was the same way. She went to a specialist that diagnosed him with hyper IGE syndrom. Once they got thr right diagnoses things got a lot easier. I hope the face thing is good. Single parenting, and all these troubles too. Not fair! I agree I wish the peri could fix me, but I know deep down I have to deal with it.

Fox-It is nice to have you. Welcome to the twin club. I think we are up to four now. I am sorry about the rough start, but you and dh are rolling now.

My new outlook today is focusing on the good. I am staying focused on the good health of the babies, and feeling blessed that my line has no infection and I have not developed a deadly blood clot from the line. These were all fears the peri had, so i am just going to feel blessed that God has given me healthy babies and no deadly side affects from the central line. I get to see the babies today . I think they are going to models because they are the most photographed babies ever.

Heart

Thanks for the welcome girls! So excited to be here....

Eve - When I was within my first 9 weeks or so, I also had spotting. I had hematomas, which are really common in pregnancy between the two babies in the uterus. My RE, OB and peri said 98% they resolve, so try not to worry. The head nurse said most women will spot the 1st trimester and some will feel like they are going to see AF.

Hallie - What an awesome story!!! When we met, he lived in Atlanta and I lived in Dallas (we are both originally from California), so traveled for two years each weekend to be together. Since I am on a plane so much, your story brought a HUGE smile to my face! My DH also insists on going to ALL appointments with me. He is going to be such a great daddy and is really excited.

Kath - You are a SERIOUS role model!!! I also had a gf who decided to become a single mum and she absolutely loves it. I can only imagine the hard work it is, but I admire you so much for making the decision for you. Some women just "choose" a partner at our age. The better solution is to wait for the right one or without the wrong one. Kudos to you!!!

Shumach - Your description of the framing, the car, etc. I know was not meant to be funny, but I giggled out loud! I can relate to two of everything. We are buying the Stokke stollers with pram, regular seats, etc. and I was just discussing where these massive things were going to be stored in between uses!! Since we moved into our new house a little over two years ago, we have to buy baby gates, etc. A lot to think about.

What about you gals with multiples on the way? Are you going to have them sleep in one crib (and then bed) or two? Twins actually run in my family (three sets) and I have two gf's who have them and all of them said the babies/toddlers seem to migrate and want to sleep together whether they have their own beds or not.

Interested in everyone's thoughts. I think getting them into a sleep schedule will be the most challenging thing!

Hugs to everyone today!
