AFM: I had a consultation with the perinatalogist and it turned out they made a mistake in the calculation of my prenatal screening results. The California Department of Public Health inputed the wrong NT results and it threw the whole thing off. I am screen negative with a 1 in 5,300 chance of Down Syndrome and not a 1 in 24 chance of it. I am so excited and relieved, I almost cried. He also said I didn't have to continue Lovenox shots as my gyno thought. Anyways I am in the clear and will have a normal ultrasound in 20 weeks.

Great news! Although, I would be angry at them for inputting the wrong information and causing you all of this worry for no reason! But at least you do not have to worry anymore....1 in 5,300 sounds like pretty good odds to me! Congrats and now you can relax! And enjoy those injection free days! I continue for about 180 days still I decided that althought the Lovenox is once a day, rather than twice, the needle has a harder time breaking through the skin and I bruise more. Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end.

NiP: I just inject the Lovenox into the injection site without pinching. It leaves little to no bruising. It might sound painful but it worked for me. Hope that helps

CanadianMommy - So exciting!! That must have been such an amazing feeling. Congrats!! I was also under the impression that the kicks (or flutters) were later, but maybe that's just for "bigger" girls like me (?).

sophealy - WOW!! That's fantastic news & what a great relief of stress it must be for you! Congrats!

for you both!!

canadianmommy-WOW!! I am waiting for that first sign of life so that I can actually believe I'm pregnant

sophealy-yea! No worries about Down's. You must feel relieved. I admit, I would be upset with being told the wrong results but my sheer relief would overpower said anger!

I'm wondering if any of you ladies suffered from migraines before getting pregnant. I did...and I didn't have any during my entire first trimester. Yesterday, I got the worst migraine I've had in a while and caused me to vomit...for someone without much morning sickness, it was a shock. Now, my jaw is all tight and I can't chew, yawn, cough or sneeze. It's miserable. Has anyone else experienced 2nd trimester headaches?!

mom2cats4now- I have also experienced headaches for the past week. I have actually had one every day for the past week and I did not have them during my first 12 weeks at all. I have read that it is common to get them during the second trimester. At least my vomiting is much less because a combonation really stinks! I hope your headaches dont become a common thing...I know that Tylenol does not usually help much.

Question about Tylenol: I am on baby aspirin during my entire pregnancy and was wondering if it is safe to take Tylonol with baby aspirin. I did not think to ask my Dr. last week and don't go back until next Wed. Any thoughts?

momtocats4now: I thought it was just me. I never had morning sickness during the first trimester except for the usual gas and constipation with bloating. However, when I entered second trimester, I started having horrible headaches. It is usually a couple of hours a day before bedtime. I still have it but it is not as bad as before where I have to lie in bed as soon as I feel it.

AFM: Today is the last day before Thanksgiving break. I have all of next week off.

sophealy- Have fun on your week off! How exciting! I cannot wait until Thursday to have two days off.

AFM, I just got the results of our NT scan and blood work and our risk for Downs/Trisomy are 1 in 10,000. We are very excited that we don't have to worry about that Now to patiently wait 3 weeks for our next ultrasound.....

Also, I am having sharp pains on both sides of my lower abdomen at different times and it only lasts a few seconds. It has been happening all day off and on. Does this sound like round ligament pain or something to worry about?

Have a nice weekend ladies!!

I've also been having weird sharp pains. I don't know if it's the ligaments or just gas...I know those things are normal during the 2nd trimester. As long as you're not bleeding or it's not lasting longer than a few seconds, I wouldn't be worried.

momtocats - I've never suffered from migraines in the past, but I had headaches throughout my entire first trimester (everyday, all day). They've (thankfully) recently started to subside, only once or twice a week for the past couple of weeks. I also never had m/s, apart from being pretty nauseas for a couple of weeks. HOWEVER...this morning, all of a sudden, I got sick!! I couldn't believe it, I was feeling completely fine. Not sure if it was something I ate or the beginning of 2nd trimester m/s!! Argg, hopefully it was just what I had eaten!!

Nlp - I had those pains, in my lower left hand side. I got so scared, that I actually went to my doc. I wasn't bleeding, but I also wasn't sure what it was. He confirmed it was my ligaments stretching. I've been feeling them on & off since then, mostly in the mornings when I'm getting out of bed, or if I've been sitting at work for a long period of time (which isn't too often, because I get up to pee a lot!!). Hope this helps!!

sophealy - Enjoy your week off!
