Has anyone taken/taking bedrest due to subchronic bleeding? If so what level of rest are you taking.

I am advised to be on bedrest but not sure if I can work from home with inclined position, If I can sit or climb stairs once or twice a day etc.

Please share your experiences. Thanks in advance.

I was placed on bedrest for 2 weeks for a subchorionic bleed at 11 weeks.

I laid in bed the whole time, or laid on the couch. If I used the laptop I would lay it on the bed and lay down next to it slightly elevated on pillows.

I used A LOT of pillows lol. I also made it a point to onmy lay on my sides during this as well. The last few days of rest I began doing a little more, sitting up and so forth to slowly get back into normal walking etc.

The stairs I would try to avoid if possible. I did not shower (yuck, I know) simply because I was told to be off my feet.

I was on bedrest on Week 6 and 7 for 2 small sub chronic hematomas. Then I went back to work, mostly office work. I am at a desk, no lifting, no stairs, pretty relaxed. Anyway, last week we had a ultrasound and they told me the bleeds had moved togather to be one slightly large one... Did they tell either of you how big your bleeds were, big, small etc? Also after 2 weeks of bedrest did your go away or did it bleed out?

I was on bedrest for almost 8 weeks from around 6 weeks to just before my 14th week due to 2 SH that formed into 1. At first I tried to get away with doing a few things but it made it worse so I was on pretty strict bedrest for almost 6 of those weeks straight. I am now in my 18th week and haven't had anymore bleeding for 3 going on 4 weeks and the baby seems to be doing great. It seemed like an eternity to be stuck staring at the same four walls day after day but now that I see the baby turning into this tiny little person I know it was all worth it. Good luck ladies!

I just found out last night I have a subchorionic bleed. A big one. Bleeding was severe and lasted about 6 hours. Both my RE and OB agreed bedrest wasnt necesary but no strenuous activity(stairs, lifting, sex, long periods on my feet, excercising, etc.) I have a desk job so they said working was fine. Weird how different DRS have different treatments.
