Sams79: I'm so sorry to "hear" that you're going through that. When my DP got pregnant back in 2007, we didn't know what our numbers were at all. A few days before the first u/s she started to noticed that her breasts weren't as sore as they had been, and the u/s showed "where the sac used to be." We felt the same way as you; the silver lining was that despite the endometriosis and PCOS, she was still able to get pregnant, which is huge. It gives us high hopes that once she loses some weight gets her insulin resistance issue resolved, that she too will be able to carry to term. So, I completely understand your worry. Hopefully your progesterone issue was caught in time and your numbers will have doubled. Try to relax over the weekend and not stress too much dear. Things could still be progessing normally despite the cramping and light bleeding. We'll be sending lots of positive energy your way!

Hey guys! I have been keeping up with each of you from Cabo but haven't had much time to post and no new developments to add anyway! Which is a good thing at this point I think! Anyway, I couldn't not reply to the seafood question since I am in Cabo and have wondered the same thing!

I think the key is moderation but seafood has actually been shown to boost brain development so it is definetely healthy and good for the baby! What you have to be careful about is higher levels of mercery that are found in larger predator fish...for example shark, swordfish, or even yellowfin tuna which is what we are fishing for this week in Cabo! A lot of people seem to think shellfish is off limits but I think is outdated info...

If you go back to page 5, I posted an excerpt from the "You and Your Baby: Pregnancy" book by Dr. Laura Riley, OB/GYN. It outlines what is ok, what is not, how much and how often. Also, to get the full benefits of omega-3 (which is the fatty acid found in fish that is very beneficial to the baby's brain, eyes, nervous system development) without the risk of mercury, there are supplements that are high in Omega-3 but have zero mercury!

Hi ladies, mind if I join you? Congratulations everyone!!

I see some of you from the October IVF thread--hi to Joy, MommyInny, LizzyM, Genevieve, Hopeful10, I know I'm missing more!

Anyway, I am pretty nervous today. My hubby now has to go to London on Monday for 5 days and not only do I have to do my own PIO shots, but also what if something happens when he's gone? Ack!

I called my clinic to see if they would do an early U/S to reassure us before he leaves, but they said they wouldn't be able to see much. I'm seriously considering calling my OBGYN and asking them. Am I seriously losing my mind?!

I'm 5 weeks 4 days today, and am just not feeling many symptoms. I'm a little tired with sore boobs and I''m hungry in the AM now (I never ate breakfast before) but that's it. In a crazy way I want morning sickness to start just so I know this little one is still in there.

How are all of you doing with symptoms?

GardenGirl: & Congratulations! I completely understand your concern, but your doc is right, there isn't much to see on the u/s yet; our babies are just so cute and tiny right now! Like you, I'm not having many symptoms either. I am exactly 5 weeks today, and I have some fatigue, more frequent potty breaks, and sore boobs. However, from what my DP has said, and from what I've been reading, that's normal for this point. Most women don't start having any major symptoms (like morning/noon/night sickness) until at least 6 weeks. Your hunger, fatigue and soreness are all good signs! I know it's hard, but try to relax and enjoy feeling well - it may not last much longer!

Rest assured - your symptoms sound consistent with my own as well as a lot of other ladies on here! I am more sleepy than usual especially in the afternoon, def have sore boobs, and although I usually ate breakfast in the morning, I have noticed feeling hungry before I even get up and going these days! Don't wish for morning sickness! Some people don't have it their whole pregnancy - that is what I am wishing for! I know what you mean though - I can't wait to see that first sign of a baby bump!!

How were your betas? Mine seem lower than a lot of ladies who post here but I think they are in the normal range and my RE thinks they increased as intended so I am trying not to dwell on comparisons too much! Does anyone know if betas are usually higher with IVF vs IUI? I wonder why they fluctuate so much between people and pregnancies...I just don't get it! : )

I don't think you are crazy about wanting an early ultrasound! I would want a beta every 2 days until my first u/s if my RE was willing! ha!

Josie Skye: my betas were:
392 at 12dp5dt, or 17 dpo
1619 at 15dp5dt, or 20 dpo

They quadrupled in 3 days so I am hoping that's a good sign! We only transferred one embryo so it should not be twins. I don't think they are different for ivf/iui, I just read they are different for every person and as long as they are rising appropriately you're fine!

OK, well I'll try not to panic. I just hate not knowing what's going on, especially when DH will be out of town for so long. It's the longest we will have been away from each other since we met! I know, lame, it's only 5 days...

I know what you mean! Everyday I hope for m/s. These hormones must me making us crazy! I have periods of nausea throughout the day, but not specifically in the mornings. More often I feel queasy at night time. I haven't thrown up, but I burp a lot. I also don't have much energy. I did some vacuuming today and had to lay down for a nap after! My boobs are a little bit tender, and every now and then my nips hurt like heck! I'm having a hard time waiting for this US on Wednesday. I wish my bean could tell me it's doing OK in there. I would love to have a beta drawn everyday!

Genevieve--that is too funny. I've been doing the whole burping thing as well. Mostly after dinner, when I seem to feel a little sick. I thought maybe I was just eating too much!!

JosieSkye: I haven't because I don't want to jinx anything! I think I will wait until at least the first trimester is behind me. But I have started putting lotion on my belly to get it ready!

I do have to say I might get a few of those bellabands. It's all bloat but my tummy is bigger than usual and keeping my jeans buttoned is uncomfortable!

The only thing we've bought since we got the BFP for this pregnancy is the What to Expect When You're Expecting book. I haven't bought any cremes yet, but I've picked up some fish oil and will probably get some Vitamin E oil for my belly eventually. My DP is supposed to be picking up a pregnancy yoga dvd today, I am excited about that. Things might change after Friday, and definitely after the first of the year!
