I am a nervous wreck waiting for my RE's nurse to call me this morning. My 2nd beta was scheduled for 9am but it was 10ish before they could see me for my 20 second appt (lol). The nurse said that they are short-handed today but that she would hopefully call me before lunch. If I haven't heard from her by noon, I may go nuts!

Nicky - I know what you mean about slacking on the job! This whole process has just utterly consumed me lately and I need to snap out of it but it is so hard to work in a profession where you sit in front of a computer and this forum as well as all kinds of google possibilities are at your fingertips!

Nicky & MommyinNY - The oral prometrium doesn't make me sick or anything...I just know when I take it that it better be time for bed because I crash hard!

Has any one else's hubby's been super sweet since the BFP? My hubby has been cooking breakfast and dinner AND more impressively making me sit down while he cleans up, lighting fires in the fireplace, etc...not sure how long this special treatment will last but I could get used to this! : )

Josie - hope you get your results soon. I have been looking at my phone all morning even though I know that there was no chance they would call before 1pm.

Well my results are in... Beta went up to 110. The nurse said it went up appropriately. I can't help but be a little worried as I thought it was supposed to double?! I go back on Friday for more b/w. So I am that it goes up again.

On a good note, my bbs are killing me again so that makes me feel better.

Ok bring on Friday now.. I don't know how I am going to get through these next few days

Nicky - Funny! If I hadn't seen your post first, mine would have been very similiar! Very! It cracks me up how much security can be found in finding out that you aren't alone! My beta was 153 today which had me very concerned that it wasn't double (87 on Monday 10/26). I pretty much explained the significance to my hubby of this beta as 'if it doesn't double, I will miscarry - period'. BUT the RE nurse also told me it went up fine and not to stress about it BUT that she wanted to see me again on Friday "just to make sure it keeps rising". SO I have an appt on Friday morning and will be a nervous wreck (once again) until then! If you do any reassuring "research" feel free to shoot me any helpful links! ha! I really have to get to work now!

Sorry you are having to worry about this as well

I did find this website which states that "In a bout 85% of normal pregnancies, the hCG level will double every 48 - 72 hours. As you get further along in pregnancy and the hCG level gets higher, the time it takes to double can increase to about every 96 hours."

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)—The Pregnancy Hormone : American Pregnancy Association

both our numbers both double on Friday

The 48 - 72 hours is reassuring since we both had our beta's at the lower end of the range and although they didn't double, surely they will be very close to double by tomorrow morning (or 72 hours). I calculated that I want my beta on Friday to be at least 232 for absolute peace of mind! (well, almost absolute!) I am going to Cabo with my hubby next week and I just want to be able to relax and celebrate our big news without being anxious the whole time!

That is great news! I got my first 2nd line last Friday at 10 days past IUI - It was SO faint that I had to hold it up in front of a window at an angle to see it! It made me SO hopeful yet I didn't want to show it to anyone else (even my hubby) because I was afraid they wouldn't look as hard as me and say they didn't see it! I got my positive beta on Monday though so there is something to be said for the magic of that very faint line! Can't wait until Friday when we get some more beta results!

Just wanted to drop in and say hi there. After talking with my RE office yesterday my 2nd beta was 642 which doubled plus 42 from Monday's beta and my first ultersound is 11/13. My husband and I are still waiting for someone to jump out and say got ya!

Josie - I understand about the cravings. I don't know if it is a mind thing or what but I also crave pickles and found myself drinking the juice. Also, last night on tv a McDonald's commerical came on and was advertising their cheeseburger and all I had to say was my that sounds good and hubby went and got me one.

Asiram and thewilliamsons --

I am feeling fine again today. Why do I wish something would hurt or that I would puke? So odd.....I am slightly worried since I POAS again this morning and it really didn't look any darker. It might have even been lighter. Uh-oh. I am hoping it was because the stick was a different brand than the one I used yesterday, but time will tell!

Hang in there ladies!

Tab7877 - Don't worry - I POAS Monday and Wednesay before my betas and honestly I think the faint line looked the same both days and honestly with using 2 different brands I think you could expect a different result so try not to add that to your stress list!

Thewilliamsons - I kept meaning to tell you that you should join this thread too! It is kinda nice because this thread is still young but full of excitment! : )

AFM - I have decided that I already have a baby bump but in all reality I think I am bloated from all the salt I am eating with my pickle & lime cravings! I swear the cravings are too strong and too unrelenting to be unrelated! I am trying to do everything just 'right' because I want these next 8 weeks (and many more after that of course) to go super smooth! In that regard, I am trying to eat right including a daily intake of at least 3 fruits, 4 veggies, 3 whole grains, 3 dairy/calciums, etc. What I am concerned about is how I am going to get all this good stuff in Cabo next week! I am thinking about packing some V-8 or single juices or something for a start...anyone else have any different ideas? You can't smuggle produce into another country or I would be tempted...nothing seems to taste the same!

Josie, when I travel for work, I usually bring along Lara Bars - they are fruit/nut/spice bars that have no added anything - no sugar, no salt, no preservatives - and on top of it, actually taste good!

For example, the apple one is just dates, almonds, apples, walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon. They are very dense, and very filling. Other varieties include cherry, pistachio, banana bread, and ginger snap (which might be good for when morning sickness hits!)

Hope this helps!
