Hi All! I was hoping I could join this forum. I got my positive Beta on 10/26. My levels were 191 and on 10/28 they went up to 266. I am a little worried that the number didn't double, but I have my 3rd Beta next Tuesday 11/2. So I praying that the number goes way up!! This is so exciting and this will be our first (or second hehe). Look forward to getting to know all of you.

Good evening ladies. I followed Mommyinny from the October IVF board and am looking forward to joining you. I have gotten so much support off of the other board, but I guess at some point, we need to move on to actual pregnancy discussions and support. I can hardly believe it and think I have only said the words 'I'm pregnant' once or twice. It really is a wild ride we've already been on!! I calculated my due date to be July 1 based on my retrieval date of October 8. (Mommyinny ... maybe I did mine wrong. What site did you use?)

Have any of you found any good pregnancy sites? I've come accross a few but haven't settled on one. Also, any good book recomendations??

My due date is also July 1 according to both my RE and a due date calculator I found online (and Lizzy we have the same ER date so your July 1 calculation matches mine).

I have known I am

for 4 days now and I'm loving it! We have had a 6 year road TTC and this is my first BFP. I avoided HPT's this time so got the word on Sunday from the nurse and completely lost it. I've basically told anyone who would listen so I'm apparently not a good secret keeper!

I only had one beta (weird?) but it was 658 so I've assumed that means I'm okay and I'm trying not to stress too much about not getting any more attention from the doctor until October 16th when I get my first ultrasound (I keep debating calling and asking for another beta but I'm chicken).

Anyway, hopefully things keep going well for all of us! I joined babycenter.com and just got an update on week 5 in my email today. It's crazy. I guess I'm just going to dive in and create a cute ticker soon.

congratulations to you!!!

It is kind of slow on here right now, but we will pick up for sure!

AFM - I POAS again this morning (I know, I know - I am keeping FR in business at this point). The line is darker this morning, so I am just keeping everything crossed that this is it! Beta day is looming closer, so I just need to wait! I tried calculating my due date and got 7/11 based on a 3 day transfer. My birthday is 7/8, so I am hoping that this is good luck.

Welcome ladies!! I am glad to see some of you moving over from our IVF board! We are going to have an awesome 9 months ahead of us! I am 5 wks today! Can't wait for my ultrasound this afternoon! I too am still searching for a pregnancy site that I like.

Beta today was 336 which doubled from Wednesday so I am feeling pretty good about it! My sister thinks I need to relax and just enjoy this time but that is easier said that done! After 3 positive betas, I wonder if the risk for early miscarriage is a lot less or something? I am going to be nervous the next 2 weeks until my ultrasound. It is scheduled for November 17th and I am so excited about seeing a heart-beat(s)...I think that will really make everything seem more real!

I am a little confused about what to think about eating seafood in your first trimester...some websites say avoid seafood during pregnancy because of mercery and others say it is one of the best things you can do and that mothers who ate seafood have healthier babies with higher IQ's and brighter eyes! The nurse who took my blood today told me not to worry about eating seafood in the 1st trimester that it will be fine and it is really the 2nd and 3rd trimesters when you need to worry about that BUT then I asked the nurse who called me with my beta scores and she said to only eat fish with low mercery content and not to eat it everyday or anything. Since I will be in Cabo next week and probably eating a lot of seafood (or will have to make special arrangements from the group to eat something different) I am wondering if I should eat the fish and hope for bright clear baby eyes (lol) or if I should ask for a menu and order chicken or munch on a granola bar or something...ugh!

Asiram - Lara bars sound great - thanks! Do you get them at the grocery store or a health food store?

Sculli - My hubby is about as poor of a secret keeper as you claim to be! (lol) - he has told half our friends when I wanted to wait until after Christmas...I don't want to ruin his fun either though so I am tolerating it with a smile! We haven't told either of our parents yet and don't plan to until Christmas which will be the 12 week mark! I have this fantasy of wrapping a sweet poem and the sonogram in a cute frame and giving it to them amongst the other gifts so they don't know what hit them. My in-laws in particular have been very anxious. My parents however will probably be a little more worried about me being prego during the swine flu epidemic. Anyone know if it is really that big of a deal this early in our pregnancys?

Ok so I considered just lurking for a while but decided to jump in feet first and ask if I can join you ladies. I am fearful that if I join this thread I will be setting myself up for failure if this pregnancy is not successful. But I have only known I am pregnant for two days and I'm already going NUTS!! So I'm hoping you ladies can help me pass the time. Ultimately whatever is going to happen will happen and I need to realize that.

Got my positive HPT at 13dpiui and again this morning (14dpiui) and also went in for my beta. Got a call that it is 470!!! This number makes me hopeful. Go back Mon for my 2nd beta. I looked and my EDD is July 9. Here's to hoping that I make it there!

! Glad you decided to jump in feet first! We need some more action in this forum! : ) I noticed in your signature that you had a couple of early miscarriages which let's face it - is all of our worst fears since we are all barely prego at this point! Does your RE know what caused this? Is it part of your condition / diagnosis? I am so hoping that the next several weeks pass quickly and are uneventful for all of us!

On a bright note, 470 sounds like a great beta - I have been worried mine is too low because it seems like a lot of people have higher ones but I think it is just my anxiety kicking in because my RE and my online research : ) all indicate that it is within normal limits!

Nicky - I am the queen of anxiety so it doesn't mean much coming from me but I would try not to worry about your beta today. It seems like the numbers are steadily climbing the charts and the 2 to 3 days is only an approximate guideline right? I hope your results next week are off the charts! ha!

Hi Ladies,
I, too, am hoping to join this forum. I did my first ivf this month and got a bfp. My retrivel was on the 10/10 and my transfer on 10/15. My beta on 10/ 21 was 66 and on 10/23 179 and on 10/19 1963. I am assuming that is good. I am totally excited but expected to feel more different. Other than being crampy, I feel great. Congrats to all!

Lizzy- i got "what to expect when you are expecting" and "week by week". they are both great!
Nicky - be hopeful! Best wishes!

and enjoy it. As for seafood I have not a clue but need to ask my doctor what he thinks because I go through times when I can't get enough of shrimp and crawfish.
