Cat-I laughed out loud at your eggos and icecream. Does DH think you've gone insane? Thats the funniest ever. And all the cookie dough icecream talk. haha

Oh and MaggieMay-I thought of something else to add to the list (which is the most comprehensive and best ever by the way) -baby wash and baby ointments, etc.. There's so many choices out there!

Boston-I hope you sleep better tonight! Cots? yuck. you need a massage after that one! Butter up DH and get him to rub you down or something fun.

Im doing good, I went to the mall today to try and hit pea in a pod. All the winter stuff was in, and the summer sale was picked over. *sigh* good thing I bought some big shorts when I did. They wont last much longer. I got home exhausted from walking the mall. So guess what I found in my mailbox from CVS when I got home? Tampon samples. hahaha!!

You guys are making me want to knit, but I dont know when I would find the time. hmmm...
OH! DH came home from Miami last night with a baby present. His mom bought me this gorgeous blanket from Spain. Its so pretty!!! Let the FUN begin!!!

Ok, I'm taking the plunge and trying to go back to eating tacos tonight. That's my favorite dinner, but I haven't been able to stomach them...hopefully that's all in the past now. i am starving and waiting for DH to come home b/c I do not cook. He better hurry up or I'll be digging into the chips soon.

Hi Girls,
Sorry it took me so long to post, we didn't get out of the dr. office until after 11:30 and since I barely slept lastnight, we grabbed a bite to eat and then I HAD to take a nap. The meeting with the genetic counselor was fine, though she was more interested in talking aobut the school where I work and how we raise "all that $$" at the auction. Blah! I wanted to say "Lady -- I am NOT here to talk about work!!!" Next was the u/s and I tried to suck up to the tech as much as possible ("ooh, I like your scrubs, so colorful!") so she would try really hard to tell if the baby is a girl or boy. The u/s was really long -- over 45 minutes during which they measured and looked for things like the aortic arch, fingers, toes (ten of each, hooray!), etc. Good news is there were no markers for Down's on the ultrasound bad news is that apparently I am not "high risk enough" for the expedited FISH results so we have to wait the full ten days for results. The other tidbit we found out is that they are about 70% sure we are having a girl! She had her legs VERY tightly crossed and wouldn't budge at all, until finally, she opened up a tiny little bit and the tech zoomed in. I knew it was a girl!!! So now I get to keep all the little Janie and Jack dresses I've bought!!!

Last was the amnio....I won't lie. It was VERY uncomfortable but fortunately, over in about 3 minutes. Cat was right, I felt the needle go through each layer. If we have another baby and I have to have another amnio, I will dread it just as much as I dreaded this one! The best thing about it is that it's over now.

Thanks everyone for your prayers, well wishes and support. It means more than I can convey through words. Peachy -- I did just what you said -- imagined everyone there with me holding hands.

Oh and girls with hairy tummys I feel your pain. I thought it was JUST ME!!!! Joy, as you can see, I have dark hair too, but not only that -- thick asian hair! I haven't ever been a very hairy person, so when this weird belly hair cropped up I didn't quite know what to think. I am so relieved to hear that some of you are having this same lovely affliction. Please pass the Nair.

I am so so glad to see your post. Havana and I have been worried about you all day and updating each other your post status. I'm sure the amnio was super uncomfortable but the important part is you made it through (in one stab attempt) and you are at home resting. Even better... the u/s results. Yeah!! Finally some good news for you. I'm sad you have to wait 10 days for the fluid results. Ugh. All this waiting. But, at least the u/s results looked good. Two steps down.

And a girl!!! You're our first so far! How exciting. We are going to be so jealous over all those adorable dresses and pink. We're all going to be sending you links!

Phew. I wouldn't let DH take me out to dinner till we heard from you. Thanks for letting all of us know. Now just relax for the night and give that gorgeous baby girl some dessert!

Im sorry it was so uncomfortable. Do you at least get extra bedrest now? What did they tell you to do? Is DH waiting on you?? I cant even tell you how glad I am you posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and count me in on the belly hairs too. So weird. I've never had much of them either and between the dark hair and lack of sun in that area... Well, you get the idea. I did have them waxed at my last bikini appt. It felt a little weird having someone put wax on my pregnant tummy but it was over quick. I wasn't sure what to think of using a Nair type chemical right there but the waxing did the trick. No secrets here girls

maggieMay- so glad your appt went well. And was over quickly for the amnio part! I didn't get a long u/s as part of mine, they didn't seem to measure much. congrats on the girl! very exciting. So, have you only bought girl clothes thus far or have you bought some boy stuff too? You'll be getting your results about the same time as me. Here's hoping we both have news to celebrate then!

Cat- Love your breakfast. Mint chocolate chip is my fave ice cream. Mine has been Lucky Charms for 3 weeks straight.

Havana- My nails are long and strong. Everyone thinks that they are fake.

Boston - I also hope that you have a good nights rest tonight.

Peachy- Love your comment about waxing the belly, but that just sounds way to painfull. I think that I'll stil to trimming and cutting.....lol

Cat- I bought some maternity clothing but I have yet to wear it. The clothes are still big on me and my regular stuff to tight. This transition phase is no fun.

MaggieMay - YEAH!!! I'm so glad the u/s went well and that so far things are looking great! I'm bummed for you that you have to wait 10 days for the fluid results, but we will all be hoping and praying for great news for you and Cat!!! I was so worried about you because we hadn't heard from you in a while! I'm glad you were able to take a much needed nap to recuperate after your crazy day! I'm sorry the amnio was so awful, but I'm glad they were able to get it done and over with in a few minutes. We'll hope you never have to go through this again!!!

And, welcome to the girls club!!!! I know you are still waiting for official results, but it sounds like your little one was pulling the same stunts as our baby A who we now know is a girl! You have to post the links to some of those dresses you've bought! I can't wait to see them!
