Bri01- I wouldn't have found out till the end of august if not for the cvs test.

Maggie, thanks, I think I will order the pillow. I might just have to kick dh out of bed to make room for it
Maggie & Havana- My question regarding pillow- Can you still use your own pillow on top of this one? I have crazy allergies and have to have a special pillow near my face, just wondering if that's possible?

Peachy- I'm having troubles w/ my boy room ideas. I wanted to do green, but DH and I can't seem to agree on a green, I don't want too pale cuz i'd like a 6 year old boy to still be happy there, yet I don't like the neon bright greens that DH keeps trying to pick out. What color stripes are you going for? I think i need to resign up for pottery barn kids, I don't think i got that recently, just the real pottery barn catalog.

Hey Ladies!!!

I'm still loving hearing all of these name choices! So cute!

Bri - if I was still going to my OB here in Chicago, I wouldn't have found out about our girls until Aug 14th and by that point I would almost be past 20 weeks!

Havana - don't you love the things people say to you?? I had a lady tell me at the Coach store the other day that it must be "any day now"...um, I'm 17 weeks!!! She felt a little better when I told her there were triplets, but still!!

Robin - this whole house-selling thing just sucks. I'm really sick of showings, etc. I'm praying for a very quick sale for you!!! My fingers are crossed after the way the market tumbled yesterday due to the disturbing news on home sales...hopefully, it won't effect us that badly. I'm sure glad I don't live in Miami right now though!

Peachy - a lot of brokers in Chicago don't do open houses...ours doesn't unless we are desparate. They do a brokers open house when the place is first listed, but thats about it. Online virtual tours of course and a big sign and pamphlets outside of our condo.

So, Boston - I know what you mean about the stress levels rising. We are moving back to Indianapolis next Saturday and haven't packed one box! Our realtor has begged us to leave most of our furniture because the house shows so well with it, and in the city its helpful for people to see how you can arrange furniture in small spaces. So, now we are trying to figure out what to take and what not to take. Meanwhile, the people we are renting a house from in Indy are being idiots...they have asked for just as much financial information as our mortgage company did when we bought our house! Ridiculous!!

And, I've still been having those dumb fainting spells. I'm officially not allowed to go anywhere by myself. I had my blood tested earlier this week for anemia and it came back fine. So, my new OB is sending me to a Cardiologist to get it checked out. I'm nervous about that...I go on Monday. I just want my little body to stay healthy so that I can safely bring these little ones in to the world. Wish me luck!

Happy Friday everyone!!!

oh joy i'm so sorry that you're still having fainting spells! Hopefully they stop soon, and there's nothing wrong at the cardiologist! Try not to get too stressed over moving, whatever happens, happens, and it'll all work out. Your body and your babies need you to stay relaxed. In fact, maybe you should just check into a spa until dh gets everything moved to Indy

I'm sure you've searched the web as well, but here's what i found, do you have to have an extra 1000 calories a day w/ the 3 babies? :

"Here are some additional common causes of faintness and dizziness and simple strategies for relieving them during pregnancy:
  • Avoid rising or moving too quickly. If you get up too fast the blood in your body will pool in your feet and legs. This can help contribute to dizziness or faintness. Be sure to avoid leaping out of your chair (this may be quite easy during your last trimester).
  • Get out of bed slowly. Many women feel dizzy or faint first thing in the morning when rising out of bed. Again your best bet here is to take things slowly. You might consider grasping the dresser or other firm object to support you as your rise on waking.
  • Get plenty to eat and drink. Sometimes dizziness or faintness simply results from not eating enough. You want to make sure you are adequately hydrated throughout the day and eat enough food to keep your blood sugar levels stable. The best way to do this is by eating several smaller meals per day. This will keep a stable supply of energy flowing through your body during the course of your day.
  • Avoid overly hot environments. Many women feel faint or dizzy simply from being overheated. If this is the case step into a cool room or even stand in front of your freezer or refrigerator (with the door open of course) if you have to. You may find a cool shower helps during warm and humid summer months.
Some women feel faint or dizzy because they are anemic. Your doctor can test to find out if you have an iron deficiency that is contributing to dizziness, fatigue or faintness. If you are anemic you will likely have to take an additional iron supplement throughout your pregnancy.
Remember that periodic dizziness or faintness during pregnancy is quite normal. If you experience persistent symptoms however or sudden symptoms accompanied by a severe headache, vision disturbances or numbness and tingling, be sure to contact your health care provider immediately to rule out other more serious medical problems"

Cat- Wow girl, you are good with the information!! I actually highlighted & pasted and emailed what you wrote about the dizziness to my girlfriend in Florida who is going through the same thing. Thank you!

JustPeachy- I got that catalog too! Did you see towards the back in the baby's room (I forgot what page) the huge diaper pin that goes on the wall? I thought it was so cute. Even Dh thought so too.

Joy- I am sure that woman in the Coach store (which I am salivating at the thought of being surrounded by all of the beautiful handbags) was mortified. hahaha! Scary stuff with the fainting spells. I hope that all goes away soon. Please let us know how it goes on Monday with the cardiologist. You have so much on your plate right now with the move as well.

Bri01- I love the name Tatianna!! Very exotic.

Havana- Goodluck at your ob/gyn appt today. Let us know what you go through at this visit.

Nathalie

Cat - The boy rooms are really hard. I'm leaning towards painting the walls some light blue and using green accents in the accessories. I did want to do these cute stripes in the old Pottery Barn catalogue but DH ruled that out. So, I've seen a couple rooms now that have fun horizontal stripes... mostly just two of three of them in the top third of the wall. This would be easy since once you had the walls primed you can just tape off some of the white portion and make this your stripes. At least that's my thought. Oh, and you can look at all the rooms from the newest catalogue on their website under Shop Rooms -->Baby Rooms. Here's an example of the horizontal stripes but more involved than I'm thinking:
pottery barn kids | green french rose

Joy - I hope the doctors can figure out the dizzy spells. It must be scary. I just went to the cardiologist last week. It's an easy visit. They'll do an EKG where they hook the electrodes up to your chest and monitor your heart rhythm for a few minutes. The doctor will check your blood pressure in both arms seperately and listen to your heart. And, they'll probably send you for an Echo (echocardiogram) which is basically an ultrasound of your heart to show the blood flow through the four chambers and the valves. Oh, and they'll probably want you to wear an event monitor. It's like a mini EKG that you'll wear for a week to try to find where your fainting spells are occuring in your heart pattern. I have to go pick mine up next week. I've been putting it off out of laziness.

Nathalie - I saw the big safety pin. It is cute! I was in love with the girls room that had the ribbon detail on the wall (pg. 109). Already warned DH that if we get a surprise on the next u/s then that is our room! There were some other cute ideas with circles on the walls too.

Peachy- i love that design w/ the horizontal stripes! I never even thought of doing them that way. Hmm, i'm going to have to go find more paint colors. I think this is a winner. Green w/ a darker green & a blue stripe... DH will be thrilled at all the painting

I just went and looked-- the girls rooms are SO much more fun!

Maybe your DH and my DH can have a complaining session! I know mine is less than thrilled with the stripes... plus, I'm a perfectionist so I'm going to drive him nuts getting them even. I friend of mine did wide vertical stripes in her baby's room with two different shades of green and it was adorable. Almost a pale green and a sage green. Anyway, she bought one of those laser levels which her DH got really into and didn't complain as much...

Joy - yikes! Those fainting spells must be SO scary! Don't worry about the appointment with the cardiologist....we've got enough stress in our lives without worrying about things we can't control, right? I'm thinking of you!!

Havana - thanks for the info on the maternity clothes!! I'll have to give it another try!

Peachy - I like the stripes!! I'm kind of sad that I can't start picking things out and decorating until after the baby is born.

Thank you, ladies, for your support about this stupid shower thing. I have told my mom it's all in her head and that she's letting her insecurities get the best of her. But, of course she takes that as a personal attack. I'd love to have my sister mediate but, my sister has a wicked hot temper...she's a lot like my mom...so I know it would just lead to some really heated arguments, especially because my sister lives at home and would be on my mom about it constantly. Ah, well....right now, my mom decided that she'll choose the location and will assign duties to people. I don't care how she does it....at this point, I don't care if I have a stinkin' shower! I shouldn't be involved in this junk!

My day off from work is going well....I went to the spa for a pedicure and I am waiting for my DH to get home from a round a golf so we can go out and start looking at baby stuff!!! Yay!!

I hope you're all having a good day....and have a great weekend!!

What a fun day Boston!! Have a great time relaxing and don't even think about the baby shower. I know you and DH will have a wonderful time looking at the stores up there. It sounds like you have a great selection right near you. The fun of living right in a metropolis! I loved Philly for that reason. Let us know what fun things you pick out!

Boston- you inspired me - i just made an appt for sunday for a spa pedicure

Peachy, I'm playing w/ colors on behr.com right now. I'll attach a snap when I figure out what i want to do but they have some fun tools there.

Okay, not so many stripes perhaps, and not quite this shade of blue (i did this in microsoft paint and couldn't make the color i was envisioning), but what does everyone think?

Gorgeous Cat!! Just don't show DH... he may faint when he sees all the stripes. It can't be that hard right?? I think it's the least our DH's can do I know my friend's nursery only took two days total for all the painting and she had lots of stripes. Just got to get it done before football season starts up!

Have fun at that spa pedicure!

Ooooooooooooo Cat, those colors are gorgeous!! The baby's room is already a pale yellow (I did it 2 years ago just in case) but now I want to do the stripes. Love it! Enjoy your pedicure on Sunday!

Boston- So good to hear that you pampered yourself today after the stressful family stuff.

Okay girl's it is OFFICIAL I am eating way more than Dh is!! Had lunch together at his work and my tray had way more stuff than his. I think the cashier even noticed. Yikes!

Thanks Nathalie & Peachy Of course, none of the paint card samples that I brought home match these colors! I may have to get a color printer and take my design to be matched at the paint store.

And Nathalie, you're entitled Speaking of food, I'm really hungry. gotta see what i have laying around in my office...

And Robin, DH has already said he doesn't want to paint till the fall because then we can leave the windows open, he just hasn't figured out that means he'll be missing either college football (sat) or professional (sunday) or both
