Robin - Well, there's no question, you have a BOY!!! I'm amazed by the clear shot! Did you drink any caffeine or anything to get him to do those somersaults or was he just bouncing around in there on his own?
Peachy - Crib and bedding are darling! Maybebaby - Good luck at your OB appt tomorrow! Cat - Hope you're able to track down your package or even better, it arrives at your doorstep! Had that bridal luncheon today. It was fun! What wasn't so fun was waking up at 5 a.m with the distinct feeling that I'm getting a UTI. I called the nurse and she's having me push fluids and cranberry juice. So far seems to be holding it at bay, but ugh, getting uncomfortable! I've started to jump every time the phone rings, scared that it might be the perinatal clinic calling with my results....a few more days.... Hope you're all having a great day! MM

Hi Maggie - Sorry to jump in here, just wanted to pass this along. I just saw something on the news like an hour ago that said the best cure for an UTI is Alka Seltzer! Said it's guaranteed to make a UTI disappear almost instantly. They said to mix it like normal & just drink it down. I'm not sure if Alka Seltzer is on our approved list of medicines but you could ask your doctor. I don't know if you have any on hand but it might be worth a try!

Robin, so clearly a boy! Thanks for sharing! It's amazing the proportions when they're in utero! It's as if his boy parts grow in baby sized and then his legs and behind grow!
Peachy- I LOVE The bedding. my dd has very similiar bedding minus the brown. I painted her room in a light blue before we knew we were having a girl and picked out the bedding to match the room. Then when we knew we were having a girl, we added some hot pink accents to the walls (hard to describe, but the end effect is nice). Do you know what color you'd paint the walls? You could do blue horizontal stripes w/ a brown accent of course, that bedding would go well w/ one color walls as well. Keep us updated on the nursery trends!MM- UTI's are the worst! (okay, the worst is when you get a Yeast Inf. and uti at the same time but still!) I hope the cranberry juice helps! Havana- hope you have a fun visit w/ your mom! can't wait to hear about your u/s!

Maybebaby- Feeling much better today, almost back to normal. Thanks. I too am feeling like it is a boy. Won't find out till January though, sigh.... Goodluck at your ob/gyn tomorrow. Let us know.
Cat- Wow, that makes no sense about how they shipped your package. If anything it sounds like they slowed it down. JustPeachy- I am at my MIL house in St. Louis for the night. She has dial up and it takes FOREVER to click on a link. I am dying to know what you picked out. I will have to wait to see it tomorrow from home. Glad you two had fun. And great news about you feeling better. I was worried. Robin- Wow! That is one big proud boy!! No mistaking what we see there. Did you Dh stick his chest out when he saw it? MaggieMay- Oh sweetie! I hope you are not getting a UTI, how awful. Nathalie

Cat - Glad to hear you like the bedding after having lived with it for a few years with dd. I'm still thinking of a couple horizontal stripes up towards the top of the room. I definitely want to do a lighter shade of blue for the walls and brown stripes would be cute. I also saw these circles online. You can paint them any color and they have adhesive backs. I'm sure our local Michael's store probably has something similar and it would be fun to do on the crib wall. Other than making sure all the bedding is machine washable, any other words of advice? Do you think the bumper should be a dark color in case of accidents? Any preference over the plush bumpers versus the skinny ones? We're going to keep racking your brain
![]() Glenna Jean Paintable Wall Circles - Set of 4 Nathalie - Have fun at your MIL's. I hate dial-up too! We'll have you back tomorrow. Do you have a doctor's appt in St. Louis? MM - Glad the bridal luncheon was a success. Unfortunately, uti's are so common during pregnancy. I know our OB has been checking our urine every visit and then checks it again 4 days later for any strains that may have developed. Maggie - less than 48 hours for you now...

Hey Ladies!!!
First of all...CONGRATULATIONS ROBIN!!!! How exciting! I'm so happy for you and your dp!!! And, I love the u/s pic...your little man certainly wasn't being shy! Good for him!!! Nathalie/Peachy/Boston- sounds like everyone is having pains in one way or another! I definitely hear you on the round ligament pains...I always have them in my left side and it kills. I'm so huge now that I just expect it to get worse. Boston - I'm sorry about all the other pain you have had to deal with since even before pregnancy...I'm sure its frustrating that its manifested itself again as a result of being pregnant. I'm glad you slept a little better last night!!! Cat - I hate it when things aren't delivered when the tracking says they will be!! Its always the stuff you really want when that happens! Hopefully, it decided to show up today! Maybebaby - thanks for the updated chart and best of luck at your first OB appt tomorrow! Fill us in when you get back!! Havana/Peachy - I'm glad you guys had fun shopping today! Bummer that you had to get some real work in Havana!! Ok, I know I'm leaving a lot of people out...I'm so sorry!! I really hope everyone is doing well! Peachy - I got to join you in the heart monitor club, but luckily I only had to wear it for 24 hours. I didn't sleep at all last night because of the dumb thing, but I can't imagine wearing it as much as you have to! I'm sorry!!! They did an echo, stress test and took my blood pressure and everything came back perfect. WHEW!!! They were concerned that a problem was beginning and would only get worse, but so far it looks normal. I have to wait for the heart monitor results, but we'll see...I think everything is fine! Oddly enough, I did have another fainting spell at the OB's office prior to my appt with the Cardiologist and they checked my bp right away and it was perfect. So, they think one of the babies must be sitting on a nerve and that combined with how much blood my body is producing is causing the fainting spells. Good news! And, they checked all the babies out yesterday and they all looked great and were growing and the twins were showing no signs of twin to twin transfusion syndrome which is great! We're getting there!! This week has been crazy so far. We are moving Friday, so dh and I are scrambling to get things packed and ready. I'm of limited help, but spent hours on the phone today calling utility companies, etc...is there anything worse? Hope you are all having a great week!!!

Joy - so good to hear from you and to hear that so far everything looks OK from your Dr appt. Try to take it easy while you're moving!!
Maybebaby - good luck at the OB today!! Peachy - I've read that the really plush/puffy bumpers may be a suffocation hazzard. Actually, a lot of stuff I've read says not to use the bumpers at all. But, if you do use a bumper, the ties should be spaced apart a certain distance and the ties should be a certain length...and the bumper should be firm. I read the guidlines in either the Consumer Reports book or the the Baby Bargains book...I can't remember which. When I told my mom about this, her response was, "Well, all three of you kids had bumpers and you survived." hahaha I am going to do a bumper but I am going to make sure it's a firm one. And one thing that I am hesitant about with the Stanley cribs with the solid back is that it doesn't look like there is a secure place to tie the bumper to all the way around the back..but maybe there is..I haven't seen one in person yet (the books advise not to use a bumper with the sleigh bed style cribs with the solid sides for that reason)...so I am going to pick a crib that isn't solid in the back (even though I LOVE the ones that are solid). Now, all of these things are probably just being over-cautious....millions of people use bumpers on cribs with at least one solid side and it's fine!!

Morning Ladies!
Joy - Great to hear from you and relieved that everything is fine. Good luck with your move. Boston - Thanks for the info about the bumpers and high backed cribs. The crib I picked out has a higher back, but slats all the way around so you can still attach the bumper properly. I read something similar about bumpers, that's why I'm going to use a sleep positioner which keeps the baby on his/her back in the center of the crib and I think, also solves the bumper hazard problem. Once the baby can sit up and roll over easily I think the danger of suffocating is minimized. My friends all said the real bummer is when they can pull themselves up, you have to take the bumper off because they use it as a little "step" and can climb or fall out! Havana - One more day until your big u/s!!! I'm so excited for you! ![]() Peachy - I'm doing wall stencils..check out these cute big dots! I thought of you. They have smaller mult. sized ones too. http://www.walltowallstencils.com/s/swp0201.gif Robin - The baby had her legs VERY tightly crossed at our level 2 u/s + amnio and I heard that having a little caffeine might make her be less ladylike. So, no need to feel guilty! I'm going to have a Dr. Pepper at my 18 w u/s!!! ![]() Annie - Thank you for the info. about alka seltzer! I bought some and am going to call my OB and ask if it's okay! So far, so good....though I am really sick of cranberry juice! Have a great day everyone! Pls. keep my little piglet in your prayers....we'll probably get our results on Friday. I'm so nervous. MM

MM-Maybe you should go to the OB's office and pee in a cup. My OB takes UTI's very seriously and both Peach and I have been on antibiotics. It can lead to something worse. (not to scare you) Google -UTI's in pregnancy. The last thing I wanted to be on was antibiotics..we asked everyone we knew before I took it, so it was A-OK. And when do those test results come back??
Joy-Glad to hear everything is going well! I am glad at least if you had to have a fainting spell that you did it at the Dr's office and they could check your BP right away. It seems that could have saved you from some unneccesary tests. And WOW! You're almost 18 weeks!! Can you believe?? I'm sure I speak for all of us, but do you have a belly shot? We're all dying to see you!! You could send it to our emails if you are shy. Maybe-Good luck today at the appointment!! Hi to everyone else!!
