Maybebaby, my uncle has a place in the city that is furnished but is not used and he told use we can use it for as long as we need to. So, we'll stay there as long as we can...it's been restored to it's original 19th century condition and is furnished in antiques so, it's not the most comfortable place to live in...but it's close to where my DH and I work and there's lots of restaurants and cute shops nearby so hopefully we won't be there for much more than sleep. If it ends up just being too uncomfortable then we'll stay at my in-laws (they live the next town over from us). So, at least it's a relief to have options that won't cost us anything! But it's the whole packing everything up and moving it all out of the house part that's stressing me out...I hate packing and sorting through all our belongings. I'm not an organizational whiz like you are!!

Boston77, I wonder all the time what this stress is doing to the baby. I mean, we have contractors around at our house sawing and sanding and installing all the time....the noise alone is enough to drive a person crazy! I'm actually relieved to go to work every morning!! Add to that the horror of living in a pile of construction dust unable to find anything in the huge collection if boxes and I don't know how on earth I'm going to make it through! In fact, I was so concerned last week that I dragged myself into my doctors office and begged her to tell me if I was going to kill my baby with all the activity. She actually laughed and said if it was that easy, there would be no need for abortions...women would just put themselves in stressful situations and voila...no baby. Which actually made my stressy self laugh too as its kinda true. Obviously our little beans are tougher than we give them credit for.

Designdiva32 - About the u/s, I have no idea whether an earlier one is better, or if it's better to wait a while longer. Personally, I wouldn't be able to wait!

I was worried about stress too. I've been crazy busy at work lately working nights and weekends and I was worried about the stress. It doesn't help that I'm a chemist and I'm around chemicals all day, some of which are harmful to a fetus. I'm being careful, but there's not much I can do about it. I already had to pass one project on to someone else because the primary chemical that I'd be working with has a high level reproductive danger.

This house stuff stinks. Packing wasn't too bad for us - we had to close 2 weeks after signing the offer contract, so packing was basically just throwing stuff in boxes. We didn't have time to be overly organized (though by nature I'm pretty organized) or sort through stuff too much. It's going to make unpacking (whenever that might be) that much more difficult because by then I won't remember what's in which box no matter how well I labeled it!

I really can't wait for the u/s on Friday. I was dreaming about it last night.

Which reminds me - does anyone else have a harder time sleeping lately? I've been tossing and turning the past week or so and usually I'm a very heavy sleeper. Just curious.

Amzippitty, you just described nearly every one of my nights. I am sooooo sleep deprived at the moment, I just can't seem to relax and get a good nights sleep. Like you I am tossing and turning every night. I wonder if its stress or just the hormones? I do tend to feel more bloated at night, and I also seem to have this crazy fast heartrate. My doctor checked my heartrate and said it is fast but probably normal for all the changes going on. Still, I do wish I could get some rest. Although, maybe this is good preperation for the days after pregnancy!

Hi everyone. How's everyone feeling?
Well, I'm just waiting waiting for my follow-up ultrasound on Monday. Prepared for the worst, but hoping for the best. Really wish there was something I could do to help the little one grow. I know you probably feel the same way Designdiva.

I haven't experienced any nausea yet? not even been feeling icky at all. I'm a little worried, because with my first pregnancy I was very very icky. I remember spending a lot of those earlier days nauseus and exhausted and this time I haven't experienced anything like that -- just a midday nap needed here and there. Wish I had made better notes then so I could compare notes.

I'm going back to work tomorrow after taking a few days off. My boss knows everything as it was hard to disguise what I was doing in the first place, time off etc. I'm a little miffed because when I told her how the fetus was measuring small, she preceeded to tell me to eat nutritious foods of all food groups and fresh not take-out. I know she mean't well, but she's also a know-all and I felt like she was implying that it was because I wasn't eating enough that the baby wasn't growing well. Grrrrr. Wish I didn't have to interact with her tomorrow because I don't feel like answering questions.

Anyways, sorry to always come here with a gripe, but who else is going to listen?

Hope you guys are doing well today!!!

Thanks again MaybeBaby!

So Im feeling the same way as you guys about sleeping. Im tossing and turning and I had to get up twice last night to pee! I cant seem to get comfortable! DH actually said I was driving him crazy so he had to sleep in the guest room! So today, I ordered the Leacho Back and Body Pillow. I found it on amazon.com, and I read all the reviews and it looked like the best. I cant wait to get it! I'll let you know when it comes in and I can give it a try! I tried to copy/paste the link, but it was way too long. Look it up if you get a chance.

So DH and I went to one of the hospitals tonight to go on a tour of the birthing center, labor/delivery. Since I think I have to choose my OB/GYN in the next week or so, I wanted to find out where I wanted to have the baby. Right? Well, EVERYONE there was like Big Fat Preggers. Like when I say big and fat, I mean I thought they were going to deliver right on the spot. ....and then there is me. <---the dork who still looks skinny next to them. Evidently no one else had my brilliant idea to take a tour to figure out where they wanted to give birth 7 months in advance. THey were all there just to know what their room looks like and all.. Well if you dont tour them, how do you know which one you want??

Dh made me feel better, we just hid in the back and I put my purse over my stomach. haha

Hahaha....that's funny havana!! If you haven't all ready selected an OB, then I think touring different places is a great idea! My friend gave birth in December and she was at a great place that kept you in the same room for labor, delivery and recovery...I thought it was great that she didn't have to change rooms. I guess most places have you in one room for labor and delivery and then move you to another room for recovery. Anyway, even though I all ready have my OB selected so the hospital is selected by default, I want to check out their facilities too just to see them well ahead of time!

Sunny, try to stay positive and tune out people that are full of "helpful" advice. From what I've heard from my friends that have children, when you're pregnant, EVERYONE suddenly becomes an expert and has lots of advice and opinions to offer and they're not always helpful and sometimes they're offensive. I'm sure your boss meant well but try to tune her out.

Robin, you are not taking care of this "too soon." Your OB office will be notifying your insurance of the future hospitalization date (using your due date) so they will want you to say which hospital you will be using. Also, at some point, I imagine the hospital will want you to fill out pre-admission papers so you have less paperwork on the "big day." Sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know! But it does feel better to see the hospital. Usually the pre-natal classes will also take a tour at some point.

Look at how many babies are due in January! Wow. Best of luck, ladies. I know the m/s sucks, but please believe me, it all becomes a vague memory sometime after the baby is born. It took me (only) about 2 1/2 months after her birth to feel that I MIGHT consider a child #2 after going thru an uncomfortable pregnancy and a c-section. I'm sure you all realize it will be WORTH IT. I assure you, it is. I feel fortunate, though, that my lil bundle of joy sleeps through the night at 3 months old!
