Peachy- thanks I will be sure to let you guys know how it goes… I know what you mean about the nervousness, it seems like we can never get totally “comfortable” with our pregnancies…but as you said we are almost there!

Havana- No I got it a maternity shop. No, it doesn’t have that strong coco butter smell and not nearly as greasy. My mom doesn’t have them either but knowing my luck..

Hey Ladies!

Hope you are all having a great Saturday! It was gorgeous here in Chicago!

I've been using the Palmers lotion, but the smell is strong, so I'm willing to try other options at any point! I'm so scared I'm going to get stretch marks, but my mom doesn't have any...however, I guess she didn't have 3 babies at one time.

Still battling the m/s...this week was the worst I have had so far. In fact, my OB told me to stop taking my prenatals until I see them on Wed because they think at this point its making me worse. Don't see how that can be the case, and I hate not taking them, but today was the first day in 7 days that I didn't puke. I puked so hard on Thursday that I burst a blood vessel in my eye, so now I not only feel huge, but I also look like a freak with a crazy red eye!

Peachy - I was never on baby asprin. And, yes, I am pretty excited for my appt this next week. The u/s isn't scheduled, but I'm going to insist that I have one before week 12 (I'll be 11wks next wk). I just want to make sure they are all ok and growing. So much can change week to week, that I wonder if I like the rest of you will ever feel relaxed!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!!

how often are you guys seeing your obs at this point? once a month? I have my (hopefully) last appt tomorrow w/ my RE and then my first appt next week w/ my OB/GYN. And then I think it'll be another month till the next appt-- such a long stretch!

As for stretch marks, I'm thinking of trying something this time but I can't use anything scented, it makes me break out so if anyone comes across an unscented lotion, let me know!!! I got stretch marks from my last preg but they lightened and you can't really tell where they are anymore. My friend who just had twins, never got any stretch marks so i'm kinda believing the genetics but still willing to try lotion this time around....

Joy, gosh Im so sorry you're that sick! I cant believe you burst a blood vessel! Are you able to function? work, eat anything, etc?? Im so sorry!

I feel like I should be worse than I am. I only get the occasional quesiness. Nothing severe and I'm not having a hard time with smells. I guess I wish I was more sick since I'm coming up on week 9 and its supposed to be the worst. (or maybe I should count my blessings) (?) How's everyone else doing on the morning or all day sickness??

Maybe-thanks for telling me about the cream. No genetics over this way for strech marks, but I'm not taking any chances. Im really small framed and I've already gained 5 inches on my waist. YIKES! Im going to be wearing my husbands pants soon!

Joy - I hope you're through the worst of the m/s now. How miserable. Have you thought about just taking the folic acid on it's own rather than the entire prenatal? I've heard that's a good in-between option. Can't wait to hear your next u/s report! Thanks for letting me know about the baby aspirin.

Still no m/s over here either. Wish that was part of genetics too! I asked my Mom and she said she never had any m/s with any of her 3 children. I'm with Havana - almost wish I had something just to know everything was ok. Guess I'll have to ask her about the stretch marks now... she's only 5 ft. tall so we've got very different frames.

Cat - I'll see my RE at 9 weeks and 10 weeks and then my OB for the first time at 12 weeks. Not sure what the schedule will be after that.

Just chiming in, but I didn't have stretch marks with my first, well nothing major, just kind of fair ones. I'm 5.7" but not sure if that has anything to do with it. I had m/s too then, but not to the puking degree. I have extremely mild nausea this time, so mild I could be imagining it. And still achy and find myself rubbing my belly.

My m/s is much better, maybe a 5 on a scale of 1-10. It was really bad week 6-9, so I am glad it has decreased a bit. I am still really having problems eating meat, though. I am hoping it will keep decreasing as I near 12-14 weeks, which is what I hear from friends at work. I'll have to look into some cream for stretch mark prevention, too.

Hi Ladies!! I hate to say it but, all the pregnancy books I've been reading and everything I've read on-line said that stretch marks are genetic...if your mom and your grandmother had them, then you'll get them no matter what you smear on your belly. My mom got them and my sister got stretch marks just from gaining some weight so I know I'm going to get them. Of course, this hasn't stopped me from rubbing my Kiehl's Aloe Massage Cream on my belly and butt after each shower (a lot of women get stretch marks on their belly, butt/thighs, and breasts during pregnancy)! hahaha Hey, can't blame us for trying, right?

Joy- sorry you’re so sick I am a little queasier than normal, but it’s an any time of day thing, not just morning...

Havana- no problem about the cream I like it so far.

Boston- I hope those books are right, cause my mom does not have one mark after 2 of us, neither does her sistera or my grandmother BUT I’m not taking a chance, I’ll still use the cream, at worst ill have extra smooth skin

A little update on my bed rest. The good news is that the best rest did wonders and my RE is happy about the progress the bad news is he still wants me on modified bed rest. I will go to work for 4 hours 2 times this week (taxi there and back) the other times i have to take it easy. He gave me the ok to travel to Ireland but is not too thrilled about Paris (with the walking and such) if we do decide to go to Paris still, we will take a bus tour like the senior citizens do

I’m also off the baby aspirin, but I’m still on the POI and estrace. My RE also referred me to a doctor at the hospital of my choice. I will see him starting around the end of July (approx week 15)

Hi Maybe!
Im so glad to hear that your bedrest worked! I'm sure Peachy can speak more to this when she travelled to Philly, but when you do travel, make sure to rest before the flight, after the flight and dont do alot of walking, late nights, etc.. Its not so much the flight itself, its all that is involved in getting to the airport, to the gate, switching planes if needed, etc..just make sure you guys leave in plenty of time. I think its great that you wil have your DH with you to take care of the bags, etc..

Did you see the baby on the ultrasound this go round? How did he/she look? Could you see anything new? I'm so bored waiting around for my u/s that I love to hear about anyone else!!

I want to order this fetal heartrate monitor off of amazon.com. The good one is $115. I read all the reviews, and the cheap ones are exactly that. Anyone else thought of that?

ok, i am still catching up with all the posts... anyway..
baby aspirin - never took it... Dr mentioned it, but i didn't feel like i need a blood thiner, it's thin enough... hehe...
stretch marks - yes, it's genetic, but i like my belly being rubbed, so i got Tummy Honey Stretch Mark Prevention Butter... i love how it smells, not strong at all and very nice...

Havanajims- Thanks I will be taking it very easy! The good thing is that we don’t switch planes. I will only be carrying my purse which my DH wants me to lighten up!

Yes, i did see the baby, he’s getting bigger (22 mm) and 170 bpm, the doctor is pleased with the process of the baby, he just wants the hemotema (sp) to fade.

I thought of buying on too, I will get to play around and test the one in Ireland.
