Mirka, I am SO happy you're back...

I am crying laughing about your "butt hole" story! Not that it's funny that your mom had so much pain for so long, but the part about "excuse me, I have to turn my butt hole back inside." Teeeeeeheeeeeheeeee!!!!

Maybe - Yes, I gave my notice a couple weeks ago. The big countdown to me leaving has begun! I'm so ready to be a SAHM. Glad to hear that someone else is having a doula too. I consider it a gift to both my DH and me. We're debating the postpartum doula...if we get one, I'd have one come for overnights, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. probably three nights/week for 3-4 months. We're just weighing the cost which is pretty steep!

Peachy - I'm sorry you had an annoying and frustrating appointment today. You're so funny about the compression socks! I've also officially reached that point where I can barely see my toes or bend over. I can't wear knee boots unless DH is home because I can't get them on or off without help!

Boston - I do Kegels only when someone says or writes Kegels otherwise I totally forget! And the perineal (sp?) massage...forget it. I definitely can't reach either!

I'm off to eat some cereal for dinner...Golden Grahams tonight!

MM - Hmmm. Knee boots. Let's see... if my normal size 8.5 foot wasn't a size 10+ right now then I would probably be attempting knee boots this winter too! I'm jealous.

Mirka - I always love your stories! I have to admit I had a laugh too. I can just see myself having to explain the inside out butt to the OB. My chart is getting bigger by the minute! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry too for all the pain that your Mom went through. I don't know why the doctors don't listen to us. I figure if I made a decision to go through ER and sticking myself with needles then we should get a vote on this end too. Guess only time will tell... but I'll keep pushing for you Mirka!!

i know...it seems so surreal...I still have to pinch myself sometimes!

Peachy- that OB sounds so annoying!
Mirka- ok, I just about died when I read your story! I would have LOVED to be there as you explained that to the RE!
MM-I guess I missed it! I know you kept trying to give notice and something always came up! I’m glad the deed is done. My DH will be home for 2 weeks after the baby and then my mom will be here for about a week (or 2 after that) and one of my best friends will be here for a week after my mom, hence the reason I’m on the fence about the post partum doula (besides the cost factor!) I’m looking forward to the labour doula!

I'ts 2 a.m .and my insomnia is back in full force. Ugh!!!

I thought I'd check to see if Cat or Nat were up suffering along with me...glad to see you are not!

Joy updated her blog with PICTURES! There's one of little Campbell being held by her dad and it shows how tiny she is. Darling. I loved reading about how much Joy loves her little ones...gives us all so much to look forward to in coming WEEKS. (I was about to say months, but who counts in months at this point?!)

Peach - I can't believe your feet have grown 1.5 sizes! Poor thing, no wonder you're in flip flops most of the time, I don't blame you. I'm sure you are, but be sure to drink TONS of water!

MM- How are you managing w/ the lack of sleep? Do you drink any caffeine? I got my Janie & Jack shipment yesterday. The loafers I bought are the cutest EVER! I'm hoping db finishes up the molding soon so i can start washing & putting stuff away...

Mirka- i'm all for little white lies if it makes such a big difference. Me, I'm the opposite of you and peach- i'm deathly afraid of a c-section and would much rather have this child vaginally- as long as he doesn't get too big.

Peach- So your dr didn't review your urine jug stuff again? She just said to wear compression stockings? Makes you wonder what exactly is in your chart.... You might want to request a copy

My dr's appt isn't until this afternoon. I have to remember to drop off my hospital registration on the way there. MIL is babysitting for the first time ever during my appt. kinda scares me... Would it be odd to hire a babysitter to be here at the same time?

I'm thinking of doing a let's dish session in a few more weeks so i have lots of meals in the freezer when this guy comes. Anyone else doing anything like that?

MM& Maybebaby- I've heard good things about doulas. Are you guys interviewing the labor ones or do you already have them picked out? I think Maybebaby has hers because I remember you mailed me the birth plan a doula gave you, right?

Mirka - your poor mom!! I can't even begin to understand how painful that must have been for her! I agree with you, it's important to find a doctor that is willing to work with you and honor your wishes about C-section vs vaginal delivery. I'm glad you found one that you're comfortable with!

MM - so glad to hear I'm not the only one that keeps forgetting to exercise my va-jay-jay. And I can't believe how little you've been sleeping! How are you managing to function?

Peachy - too funny about the compression stockings...I'd have had the same reaction. I only wear slip on shoes now and DH has to help me with my socks sometimes. I'm glad you didn't back down about the c-section with that doctor!

Cat - I'm happy to hear the loafers are as cute in person as they were on line! The let's dish session sounds like a great idea!! I'm not planning on making a bunch of stuff to freeze (ILs have minimal cooking tools and appliances in their kitchen)...I'll just rely on my Sicilian mom to cook up mass quantities of food to store in the freezer. hehehehe

Cat, I do believe that you are afraid from surgery........some people are. I am not. When they operated my both knees, I ask them not to put me sleep, I wanted to see what they are doing and how they do it. Do I have control issues???
How many children your MIL had?? What is scaring you about her being with your DD? Is she too old?? Or you are worry she will take a nap while she is there??

MM, at night I get up every two hours, if I would know, that you cant sleep and are on line, I would not sit in dark kitchen by my self, but chat with you!!

Maybebaby, MM, Peachy, some day, maybe on weekend, when there will be not much going on site, somebody remind me and I will write story for you : "WHY I DIDNT HAVE OBGYN WHILE I AM IN USA" ( I did try twice, but that was enough!!!!)

Robin, our dogs (some) were sleeping with us in bed, from time when they were puppies. As they did grow, we kind of learn make space for them and find ourselves on the edges of king size. Than I did build "extension" and made our bed be 3 feet longer, so Bear and Sophie would still think they are with us in bed but they would not be there anymore but on their own sheets and own foam, Bear did stayed there, but every morning we did wake up with Sophie being between us and her legs everywhere.......it was very hard process to take extension off and teach them not to get up anymore. So, now is our bedroom full of dog beds on floor.

Somebody asked me how much they eat, not much, every 10 days I go buy 55lb bag of food. But I have to cook for them special gravy to put on top, they love it when it is little moist........

Boston, thanks for feeling with us!!

Mirka, i'm glad you got some space back in your bed- sounds like you may need it for Gregor And i'm not afraid of other surgeries- I've now had quite a few of those. If they put me completely under, i'd be fine. It's the spinal tap that freaks me out most about the c-section. The epidural also freaks me out and i'm going to try (again) to not have one...

10 days for a 55 lb bag is a good amount! My neighbors get their dog food delivered- it's supposedly around the same price. I think we buy a new bag of dog food once a month- and it's not the 55 pound size! (of course, we only have one little lab)

mil had 3 kids BUT a) is older and can't really lift or keep up w/ dd (she keeps asking to take dd to the lake but that is NOT happening) and b) She yells a lot. She hasn't ever yelled at dd but she yells at her own children all the time and dh says she yelled all the time growing up... I made DH promise he'd come home early from work so she's only along w/ dd for 30-45 minutes... I kinda want one of those nanny cams...

boston- want to send your mom down here for a few days to cook?

Mirka- I almost slid out of my chair and fainted at your mom's story!! Though funny, I am sure it was painful. See, that is what I am afraid of. Women who have hemrhoids during pregnancy or labor usually have to deal with if for life. YIKES!! Okay, I won' complain about buying a 40lb bag of food once a month when you go through a 55lb bag every 10 days!!

Cat- Yes, Dh was a hefty 11 lbs something and 24 inches long (my MIL is only 5'1!!). I am a little nervous. Glad you liked the shoes. I have to wait to buy all of that stuff afterwards because I want it specifically for a boy or girl. Hahaha!! Nanny Cam for MIL. Don't blame you. SPINAL TAP??!! What??!!

Robin- Hahahahahaha!! Kegels, yes I keep forgetting too. Were you up early yesterday? I am with Havana, take the freaking hair dryer!! You will regret it if you don't.

Havana- LOL! Dh not knowing the rest of your purchases. He never needs to know. Remind him about the Orbit!! I am just a little scared of the tearing & hemmies. Friends have told me. Plus since I already had hemmies I know how painful that was. Do not want a repeat.

Peachy- I couldn't get on all day yesterday after like 10am or so. Wouldn't you just love to see what is written in your chart? Sorry that the ob wasn't that nice or accomodating. Keep fighting.

Boston- Oh gosh, I cracked up at the stretching! Can you imagine your IL's catching you and having to explain that one? I have heard that we are supposed to be doing it but I don't think I could reach either. Did you buy your breast pump yesterday? I too want your mom to cook for me. mmmmmm....

Maybebaby- That is wonderful that you are getting a doula! I have heard so many great things about them. And I see them once in awhile on TLC A Baby Story.

MM- Oh no, insomnia is hitting you too? I am sure with everything that you have on your mind it is hard to stay asleep. I just read in my Parent's magazine today (yes, I was up early reading at 7am) that 84 percent of pregnant women suffer from it. I think that is a great idea to have a postpartum Doula, I am envious!

Website was down for me all day yesterday. Dh has gained 7 lbs and is mad about it!! He said that his portions are out of control because of MY eating habits!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... Ob visit went great gained 2 pounds since last visit. My u/s is scheduled for next Tuesday at 1pm.

Nat

Peachy - sorry you had to mett the "know-it-all" Dr. i am actually surprised, but we like all 5 Dr's at our office... and i am still not packed... but packing a suitcase? i am thinking a small bag would do, but apparently i don't know what i should be packing...

Cat - good luck at your Dr's appointment this afternoon. Your let's dish session sounds like a good idea (if you cook... hehe..) i just have a list of phone numbers to delivery places around here...

Mirka - you cook gravy for your dogs? no wonder they are so big

Morning girls... well I am not going in to work today. Last night I started having a lot of BH contractions and they started to become pretty uncomfortable. I also had some back pain. Also my belly just kind of ached right in the middle about 2 inches above my belly button. I got off my feet and took some vistaril and the contractions slowed down. Anyway... went to bed and slept okay last night. I'm concentrating on counting the BH this morning to decide if I should call my OB. All of the deliveries here this week have me nervous...

Hello.....Glad to see everyone else is still doing good....

Jayden is doing fine though he did get jaundice and was placed under the lights yesterday. Since his arrival he has had two episodes of where he stops breathing but corrected himself each time after about 10 sec.. I wish that he'd quit doing that. They have increased his feedings to 9 ml and he is tolerating that well. We will see what today brings.....

Nat- Breastfeeding is not comfortable at the beginning though it is supposed to get better. I have found that ice packs between pumping help reduce the swelling and makes the milk flow easier. I have the lamisil cream that I put on my nipples after each pumping session and it helps though it is really un comfortable at the begining.

Maybebaby- I walked 16 hours after surgery and used the potty for them so they released me 23 1/2 hours after surgery. I paid dearly for it since though but I really wanted to get out of there so that I could see the baby..

Mirka- Your story is funny and your dogs are huge..

Cat- How is dd doing with her big girl bed?

Robin- You better have your bag packed....

Havana- Our latest purchase was the pump rental from the hospital as the one we purchased did not work well at all. That is it as far as purchases go for now...

Peachy- My feet and everything seems real swollen right now so I still can't fit into my shoes. I hope it's just from the surgery...

Here are some pics from Monday.... we didn't take many yesterday as he was all covered up due to the lights.....
