Hi ladies, sorry I disappeared. I'm so busy spending a lot of time at the NICU and then pumping at night. I'm taking a medicine to increase my milk production and it exhausts me. You would think I could just do 1 thing without medical intervention. I couldn't concieve, give birth and now can't hardly make milk without major medical help. The pumping is going better and the boys are really growing. Nicholas is up to 3.14 and Evan is 3.8. They take about half their feedings by bottle and the other half by the n-g tube. It's funny but the nurese tell me they were too tired to try bottle feedings in the morning but when I'm there they always seem to think they can handle it. I hope you are all enjoying being pampered by now. I have another item to add to the bag, I only needed light days pads by the time I was heading home. You can bleed less with a c-section. Anyone who is still nervous about the c-section, it was really not bad.

Mirka - I haven't met a male lactation consultant either but let me know if they have them in Texas! That would be too funny.

Havana - No weight guesstimates today. They'll only do those every other week so I have to wait till Monday. Did you find anything for dh's birthday today? Between the germs at the ob's and the mall today, you must be bathing in antibacterial tonight

Nat & Maybebaby - Have fun at those last classes tonight! Nat I can't believe you're still bathing Jake. I gave that duty to dh last month. Too much bending over and wrestling!

Robin - We're very proud that you have your own internet at the new place. Let us know about tomorrow's checkup.

Lynn - Thanks for all the advice! I'm so glad you and the babies are doing well. Try to squeeze a few catnaps in there. Don't feel guilty about anything. You are doing great over there! Medicine is invented for a reason

Cat - I think my dh would be the one ready to pour those protein caplets into the jug! He really wants to get the show on the road now. The nurses want me to start this one first thing tomorrow and then turn it in Friday. No more all protein diet for me. That was yuck.

Just finished a nice dinner out with dh, my db and (nice) sil, and my gay boyfriend. Very yummy but I'm glad to be back home in pjs. Does everyone feel this way these days? Oh, and we ran into dh's boss and I made sure he knew it was any day now since they seem to have no contingency plan for when dh leaves the restaurant and his other manager is taking off for Christmas. Could get interesting...I told the boss he would be our first call and I hope he likes opening wine

Lynn- thanks for the update! What med do they have you on?

Peach- how did dh's boss react to that?

Nathalie- um, might be time to do the doggy wash at petsmart?

And I once again crashed by 7 pm... although then i wake up more at night so i really need to push myself to stay up later...

Cat- Did dd sleep through the night. I too am trying to stay up a little later, last night made it to 9:30pm. Got up at 5 am this morning!!

Peachy- Was is Dh's boss in denial? Good thing you ran into him. Sounds like you had a great evening last night. Oh, I bathe Jake in a walk in shower, with a shower hose, that we have in the finished basement. Easy to do, except that he hates to get his face washed. Dh normally does him but since the house is spotless I want him to smell really good right now so I will get to it today.

Lynn- Thanks for the update! Sounds like they are doing really well.

Maybebaby- How did your class go?

Mirka- Hahaha!! Yes, I will answer any questions though I am no expert on the classes!

Nat

Havana - thanks for the Joy update!! I'm holding up well at work. I think I'd go nuts if I wasn't still working full time...I'd be sitting at my IL's staring at the walls! It's not very difficult for me to sit at a desk and talk with you ladies all day.

Robin - I can't wait to hear how the cervix check goes! And congrats on getting your own internet service. hehehe

Lynn - So glad to hear the boys are doing well and growing. Thanks for letting us know that a C-section isn't that bad. Phew.

Peachy - I'm with you...I love just going "home" and putting my PJs on. I'm feeling less social these days.

Good morning ladies!

Last nights class was good, we focused on caring for the baby,..bathing, swaddling, calming them etc… And ladies I think we are some of the most prepared bunch! I spoke to one couple who didn’t even look at car seats yet and they are due in 2 weeks! There were quite a few couples in the “we’re looking at furniture” stage..yikes!

Hi Lynn! I’m glad the boys are doing well

Nat- how did your class go?

Mirka- I’m ready to answer any of your questions!

Peachy- I LOVE to be in my PJ’s cozied up at home! I can’t believe your dh’s boss! This is one of the busiest season…good luck to him

Maybebaby - I'm glad your class was a good one! I was amazed at how unprepared a lot of people in our classes were too. In my childbirth class most of the people were due around the same time as me...and we were the only ones that had a pediatrician lined up. Hopefully it made you feel good to know that you really ARE prepared!

I feel pseudo-prepared... Still need to install carseat and pack my bag and put sheets on the bassinet... I keep thinking i have a long time, but last night i started to get some pressure pain and lower back pain. I decided to treat myself to a decaf peppermint white chocolate mocha this am w/ blueberry coffee cake. yummy! I figured it's the holiday flavor and it'll be gone soon...

Maybebaby- What is " claming "?

Nat- dd is consistently waking up now to go potty but it's not too big a deal as i generally have to go tooooo. And she goes right back to bed, unlike you!

Cat- sorry- I meant “calming” even though you say you are pseudo- prepared, you are way more prepared than most!

Boston-same with our class! In a group of 10 couples only 3 had a pediatrician! And the latest due date was Jan 25. It feels great to be prepared!

ok, i'm off to get some work done! Talk to you all soon

work???

ACK! they're cleaning the bathrooms-- all of them! And the one they've finished had the floors sanded or something and bleached so it's full of dust and fumes. the others are all closed off!!!! Might have to run over to target to use the bathroom!

havana- my hair came out in clumps after having dd. I never really noticed it getting thicker during preg, but looking back at pictures it definately did. And then your body reaches a point, where all that lovely thickness starts to go away...

Yes I think dh's boss is in denial that he's going to just walk out when he gets the call! Dh is the type that always covers and helps everyone. I've made it very clear there is no just-finishing-out-the-night when the labor starts up It wouldn't be a big deal in some of the company's bigger restaurants with more than 2 managers. But, I just don't get having no any coverage lined up for a restaurant with only 2 people in a management role - one of whom is taking off for several days for xmas and one whose wife is due any day! Just poor planning. Dh's boss is a nice guy just a few years older than us with kids so he understands and just laughs.

I'm glad everyone's classes went well last night. I agree - I think having all of us comparing notes daily has inpired all of us to be prepared early. Thanks Ladies!

Cat - No bathrooms!! Urgh. I see an early lunch in your near future.

Nat - Ahhh. I understand now the dog washing. My guy loves the bathtime (he thinks it's his personal massage hour!) but it's still a lot of bending.

Robin - Can't wait for the update for our next in line!

Back from my uneventful ob appointment. She says everything looks good. Tested for Strep B. Only a one stop test for me. She checked my cervix and I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. Could happen anytime between now and my due date she said. Have been getting lots of that pressure on the cervix pain lately. Yesterday it stopped me in my tracks literally.
