Well, I didn't throw up on the way to work so, that's good! hahaha I am still feeling sick though. I am going to head down to the cafe and see if the chefs here can whip up something for me...I need a little bit of protein and, for some reason, I want scrambled eggs. I am sure my stomach won't be happy with them but, toast isn't helping much!!

Boston, if you want them, then your stomach should surprise you and handle them. Wow, to have chefs at work! Can you have them "whip you up" every meal?
What time is your appt?

I wish! We have 4 chefs and they generally prepare a few breakfast specials and they prepare a lunch special each day (and we have a salad bar and sandwich bar). They do a really nice job. I have an "in" with them so they're extra nice to me. hehehehe I got down there and they had just made a spinach and tomato quiche! So I'm eating that and so far, so good! My appt isn't until 4pm today. I'm so impatient!

Mirka, hopefully you'll be able to log on and update us as soon as you get the call. I've got my fingers crossed that all is well.
Boston-sounds amazing. There's a little cafe next door and now i'm debating running out for a snack. I have yogurt & fruit & a nutrigrain bar here for snacking but an egg & cheese & bacon sandwhich on an english muffin is sounding good And that is FOREVER away for your appt, might as well be tomorrow!

JOY!!! SO happy to hear of the power outage! I was getting so worried about you. even DH was asking "whats going on, has she posted yet?" He was so upset when I told him you fell! That is so exciting that they are all measuring ahead of schedule! I bet they were all snuggly in there all the time and were like "hey, Its ok, mom-chill!"
3-D! wow! I bet that was so cool! Did they have it at your regular OB office? I cant wait to see them! Boston, are you having the NT test today? I saw that it said risk assesment on your signature. What is that anyway? 4:00? ich. Peachy and I are having lunch today and shopping so at least I wont be checking in every 5 minutes to see if you're back yet. Cat-what was for breakfast this morning? Maggie-I bought the lamb blanket for my nephew when he was a baby, and it turned out to be his favorite. He took it everywhere. I knew exactly which one you were talking about!!

Cat - I KNOW! I hate the late afternoon appointments. But, they're much easier for my DH to attend with me and I'd rather have him there than go to an early morning appt on my own.
I think that egg sandwich sounds pretty good! I know that when I eat egg in the morning, it takes me longer to feel those hunger pangs again. LUNA bars have been helping too (when I'm not feeling too sick)...they have protein and a lot of folic acid and calcium.havana - Yeah, the NT test is today. They take measurements of the fetus and blood to determine if there is a risk of Down's or any other trisomy defects. I don't think I'm really at risk but, I wanted to just cover all the bases. Plus, it's a chance for an u/s...I just couldn't wait until my 20 week appt for an u/s! hahaha Have fun with Peachy today! You guys are so lucky you live so close together!!

Hey guys!!
I feel like a whole new person today! Still scared to go anywhere near stairs, but oh well! I just didn't realize how off my balance is now until that happened yesterday! Be careful in socks on hardwood floors!!! Boston - good luck today! I'm glad you are feeling a bit better! For some reason scrambled eggs usually sound good to me too! And, Pop Tarts...not healthy, but they fill me up and are easy on my stomach. I keep telling myself that I really need to go to the dentist because I'm sure my teeth are a mess after all this puking! Best of luck at the test today! Don't let the genetic counselors freak you out! Our counselor was really nice, but they basically prepare you for all scenarios and it is a bit nerve-wracking. Not sure if you will have the same set up, but just thought I'd give you that head's up! The u/s is really cool because they have to meticulously measure the back of the baby's neck, so sometimes it takes a while and you can just watch him/her play around! Havana/Peachy - have a blast at lunch/shopping today! I think we're all jealous that you get to hang out and meet up! My dh has finally realized that I really do consider all of you my friends. He used to think I was silly for being on this forum so much, but now he asks how all of you are doing, etc. Hahaha! Cat - I'm so jealous of your appetite!!! Hopefully, mine will come back soon! Mirka - we have our fingers crossed for you!!!

Peachy & Havana- sounds like an AWESOME way to spend the afternoon. Are you doing maternity clothes shopping?
Joy- where are the pictures? And I know what you mean about you guys turning into friends. In fact, I keep eying airfare specials, just noticed there's some great ones between here & Chicago (and we have family in Chicago begging us to visit) so don't be surprised if I end up out there to visit Havana, I had a blueberry bagel w/ cream cheese for breakfast #1 at 6 am. then peppridgefarm milano cookies for snack at 7:30 and then i just ate a nutrigrain bar- kept myself from leaving to go find fried food. Boston- I od'd on Luna bars my first pregnancy, I ate 2 a day for a while and now i can't go near them. Just the thought makes me sick to my stomach for some reason. And I'm jealous that you get u/s today!!! There's a 3d center kinda near my work and i'm so tempted to stop by... Robin, anything new in Charlotte?

Cat, there is a new shopping center that has lots of shops that carry maternity. You would love it because it has the biggest Old Navy I have ever seen in my life. One of the sections inside it is for Maternity. Its huge and kind of overwhelming. Dont worry, there still is a better selection on-line. There is also a Anne Taylor Loft with maternity. I'm not sure what else, but we're going to look around.
Oh, I thought of you last night. I try to cook alot, and I made homemade hummus. yummmm Its especially easy on the stomach with plain toasted flat bread or pita. I'll give you guys my made up recipe if you want. I made falafels and grilled chicken with it. super easy and healthy. Sorry-Im sure Im making one of you guys hungry. ![]() Hey has anyone thought of going on a "babymoon"? My OB suggested it before the baby comes. She said that was the only thing she regretted not doing in her pregnancy. -getting away! Sounds fun, huh?

Ok Robin, I'll put on my thinking cap for you. Inside the country, and water...hmmmm
Also, I wanted to tell you that my veteran baby-making sister told me that those NT tests have a high rate of false positives. She had that test with her 2nd pregnancy and they told her that there was a 90% probablilty that the baby was going to have downsyndrome. She was freaked out of her mind, and she also had the cvs test. To make a long story short, the baby was born as healthy as can be with no problems. One huge problem that did come up later was she formerly lived in Europe. She moved to the United States when he was 2 years old. He was progressing very well, Singing, ABC's, animal noises, everything. Well when she moved here the school system made her give him additional vaccinations. All the typical stuff that the recommend for kids these days. Sadly, he developed Autism. She and many of her doctors are convinced that it came from the vaccines. He has trouble speaking now, (he's almost 5) and he has regressed about as far back to the stage before he was 2. My DH and I are going to really investigate the vaccines that they give babies to see what is going on. We're definently going to give the baby some vaccines, but my sister is horrified and she would kill me if she knew I was thinking of some. Have you guys seen this on the news? Sorry to tell you this scary story!!!!! I just want you all to be aware of what we're giving our babies later. I mean do they really need the chicken pox vaccine??
