Peach didnt get the Hep B and neither are we. I have lots of information on all the shots if anyone wants it. I have shared it with a few of you. Just PM me your real email address and I will forward you the current shot schedule of vaccines as well as the new proposed schedule of vaccines. I just thought it would be important to be very educated on the vaccines rather than simply say no to everything. Take Hep B for example:

Hep B is transferred via blood transfusions, sharing needles or having sex. (like HIV) Since we all have been through the ringer with IVF, I know 100% that me and dh dont have Hep B to pass to our baby.

Some of the other vaccines like menengitis I am not putting off bc it truly important to the baby, etc.. Just educate yourself and make sure you dont run into a pediatritian like Mirka's at the hospital. Our OB said there is not medical reason to circumsize (although we are for traditions sake) and she said its completely 100% up to us...Peach said that the hospital didnt give her a hardtime about the Hep B.

I am fine with the Vitamin K shot at the hospital as well at the PKU test..

Robin - I'm Cat's buddy....if I get a message over the weekend I'll hijack my ILs computer and get an update to all of you.

I'm not planning on refusing the Hep B vaccine....but, Havana, I'd be interested in your new proposed schedule of vaccines...I might want to spread some out as time goes on.

Hey do you guys remember when i told you all that DHs grandmother didnt like the name Matteos because it was the bad guy on her soap opera?? Well I have found out that the mom and the brother dont like it now too because of that and I had a nervous breakdown over it. Imean for real nervous breakdown. They are calling him Matthew. Matthew is his name so I cant really argue but I tried so hard to name him something adorable that would translate both ways. I wanted to call him Matteos exclusively.

THOUGHTS???

Havana - please don't let this bother you too much. You were so thoughtful to search for a name that is wonderful in both languages. Their reason for not liking the Spanish version is completely irrational...and, unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about that. Try to laugh at their craziness even though it's bothering you. At least they can call him Matthew...it's better than them choosing the name of a character from their telenovela that they love to call him by...at least they'll use his real name. hehehehe I know it would irk me too after putting so much time and consideration into finding a name they could pronounce easily...try to laugh about it as much as you can.

Ahhh...and this is why you ladies are the only people that know Julia's name so far. hehehe I didn't want them to give me any input after we worked so hard to find a name we both liked. I figure when we introduce them to her by name, any unnecessary comments they may have been inclined to share before her birth will remain unsaid. hehehe

Anyway, Robin, you should just tell your family "too bad." Charles is a wonderful middle name. They're not going to call him by his middle name anyway and it's not their name so, why do they care so much. And the name you chose is a classic name...it's not you chose "Twizzlers" or "Pokemon" for a middle name!

Hey I second what Boston said, Robin! Charles is a great name! And why do they care about the middle name so much anyway?? Hardly anyone uses it!! Charles is a HUGE name in my family but my sister already took it. One of her kids has 4 names, no joke! I think she thinks hes royalty. or in parliment anyway....

So Robin Maybe we can name him Alexander Charles Maxmillain Cheshire, Esquire. That should shut them up. Or you could spell something with all his initals. haha

i'm here. i just took a while at target and lunch.

Havana & Robin-my dad and mom both HATED the name when we choose it-- they asked if we were sure and "where did you get that name?" BUT, it has grown on them. After they reacted that way i stopped telling people the name but now it's on the wall and we're telling people and no one else has expressed dislike. And my mom and dad are calling him by his name now, my mom said it's grown on her and once they have their little grandbaby in their arms, they will love him name and all. TRUST ME!

Robin, I think Charles works well for a middle name. It's a family name and special to you. That should be all the matters. Tell those who oppose (and this is for all of you having issues with family and names) that they had their turn to name children and now it's yours. The name means something to you and DP and that's what matters most. Good luck at your appointment this afternoon. I'm anxiously waiting to hear what your doctor plans to do.

bri- update on the monitors. I asked my friend about the gowns, seems i was mistaken about those and the monitors:
"the gowns did NOT work well with the monitor
it left their feet open, to yank at the chords
maybe not as much of a problem if she uses socks, so they can't use their toes, but we had a hard time keeping socks on them when they were that little
and as he got older it became necessary to keep him in footies because he got REALLY good at yanking the chords

my biggest suggestion that i've passed on to ALL people i meet who have monitors is to tie a knot in the chords, and place the chords inside the band of the diaper, with the chord above the closure, so that if the kid does manage to yank the chords with his/her toes, the knot will keep it from yanking off his chest
a NICU nurse suggested that, and it works well"

Havana- That is crazy about the name! After you spent so much time trying to figure it out to make them happy, too. Oh well, like Boston said, at least they are using his actual name and not inventing something else for him. You can still call him Matteos if you like that better.

Maybe-Thanks. I'll have to post some more pics soon.
