Yes....they're like REALLY BAD menstrual cramps. But, I'm not feeling it all over my belly...just really low on my abdomen, across my hips...and the last one I felt in my back.

Boston- Did the triage nurse say to call back if they got worse or to go to the hospital or what?

She said to call back if they start coming at regular intervals. My hospital won't admit me until the contractions are so strong that I can't talk when I'm having them.

Are people bugging you, or do they even know that you MAY BE IN LABOR?

Well at 40 weeks and 2 days, almost 100% effaced I'm thinking there's really nothing else it could be but labor.
Not to wish you pain but hopefully they will speed up for you so you can get to the hospital!

Carley - No, people are leaving me alone. No one knows anything. I asked the one woman in my department that has given birth recently what her contractions felt like but, she wasn't much help....she didn't feel contractions until they were REALLY strong. So, I'm just sitting at my desk trying to keep my mind busy and get some work done.

Laurie - yeah, I know...it's either game time or my body is practicing. hahaha I was really hoping to hold out until Saturday when my OB would be working labor and delivery. But, oh well...if it happens now I'll be just as excited to meet this little one!

YEAH!!! BOSTON is in labor From the point you are, I think it took about 6 hours before I decided to go to the hospital w/ dd-- BUT you were 100% effaced and so far dilated that Julia doesn't have far to go. Do you have the contraction timer up?

My appt went okay- 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I think i need to bounce on my excersize ball some to get the effacement further along.

Yep...I've been TRYING to use the Contraction Master website. Some of these puppies are lasting just over a minute...ouch!! I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but, I don't know if I'll be able to last as long as I was hoping to before asking for the epidural! It seems like I'm getting one really strong one...then a couple of seconds break and then another mild one.

I think that's a great appointment, Cat! 2cm is great...now start bouncing away!!

Well, that's good. I wouldn't be thrilled if people kept coming by asking me the one question that we are all really used to (and sometimes tired of) hearing: 'how are you feeling?'.

Boston is in labor!! That's what my contractions felt like when they started. Just horrible period cramps. Don't worry, you'll know when they get stronger I say you're working a half day and then find yourself a nice comfy chair in the hospital lobby to labor in. Oh, and don't forget to eat some food!!

Just talked with Havana. She's very sore but hanging in and super excited to take her first shower any minute. I'm going to go visit her before my 2:40 OB appt. and I'll take my camera too.

Cat - Good news on your end too! I hope no one offers you any more sex advice around there today.

MM - Are you busy ironing away over there today? Can you update us from the hospital with your iphone?

Vanessa - You'll boil soon... I can't beleive how close (and post) due dates so many of us have been. I thought we had more early comers over here.

Bri - Ok. I won't feel guilty. I thought they were supposed to be eating more than that. I know he's getting at least that much with the breast feeding. I guess I should put the medela pump on the max setting and see if that helps. I just thought I would be getting more with each pumping. I think I've just got a big appetite on my hand. Must have gotten it from dh - he eats all day long and has been a 32 waist since high school!

Well, I got about 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Better than the night before but still leaves room for improvement. It's a learning curve. Everyday I seem to figure out some new little hints on how to get this guy on full and sleeping well. And, I'm sure just as soon as I figure it out, he'll be ready for stage #2!

Peach- it's great to have little bags/bottles of 1-2 ounces in the freezer. Then you can customize his feedings. Don't worry about having too much pumped. If you get enough pumped, then dh can bottle feed him some of that and pump a whole feeding (prob just 20 min pumping) and that will help build up supply too.

I just "borrowed" the excersize ball from the gym. Only problem is it's too small to reach my keyboard correctly. I'm thinking of rearranging my keyboard somehow...

Thanks Cat. I don't know why this pumping thing is confusing me. I guess most of my girlfriends had tons of bottles in the freezer and I can't figure out how

I'm just hoping to have a few feedings saved up in the bottles so I can sleep in a little on Sunday and dh can get up to do the feeding!

We need to get you a wireless keyboard so you can bounce away and post (forget about work). Don't you need a target run...

My little guy is started to stir so it's almost feeding time. I'll post when I get back from seeing Havana.

I arranged my office so that i can bounce & type and work on my one monitor and have the board up on my other monitor! Um, peach, I may have already made a target run after my appt (grabbed some lunch) OH and you haven't been home w/ Aiden for that long, it takes a little while to build up a supply, and at times you could still run low- Aiden will go up & down in his feedings. don't stress over it!

Boston- you best give us one last post before heading to the hospital. And my cell phone is on, feel free to call/ text message/ email, whatever you or dh feels upto!
