Boston- The other issue we have in our house is that we mutually decided that I stay at home at least the first year as it makes no sense to work if majority of my income would go to cover day care costs and once you factor in gas....you may as well forget it. Dh is used to my income and that has him now stressing as well...not that we are broke but we don't have the luxury of making a purchase just because we want something. He is now looking at jobs...in the VA and Oh area....if we move my mom will be devastated.

MaggieMay- Last Tuesday he weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and was 18.5 in long. I love the comment about the best thing about your MIL...I am LMAO.

MM- you have a 2 week appt? huh. We had a 1 day, 1 week and then 1 month. It's funny how they're all different. Glad you and Havana are FREE AT LAST!!! And Reid looks so old now! He could easily pass as a much older child. When does DH start back at work? See I like that my mil is in town because when she comes to visit, it's only an hour and I can "happen" to disappear half the time

Boston- we have tense moments too and we're in our own home. I think the lack of sleep makes a BIG difference. Maybe you can nap more? Sounds like DH could use some naps too- doesn't he know now to snap at a new mother? I've already cried a few times just because I took issues w/ DH being short or his tone of voice. Then he sighs in exasperation... Today is my first home w/out DH and w/ both dd and baby. Doing okay so far... dd is eating a snack now- grapes, cheese cubes and now she's moved on the frosted mini wheat cereal...

Bri- too funny that the end of the discussion was just an agreement that you're adjusting! Good luck w/ DH and the jobs. My short term disability kicks in this week, but i find w/ myself stuck in the house that i'm spending far less-- no daily trips to Target

Robin- hmm, Tysen fed at 6:30 but has already been up to eat again... I'm so jealous of the warm weather-- today it's supposed to be a "warm" 40 degrees. (i know that is prob warm to boston and maybebaby but not to me!) DH suggested a walk w/ both kids. Hmm, w/ hats, parkas and gloves- maybe!

Cat - Good luck on your first alone day! I hope dd is an angle and gives an extra hand.

Boston - We have all had meltdown days. Don't feel bad. It's just a phase. Or so I hope! I just teared up on Saturday during one of those fussy 4 hour stretches on your own with the baby. You are being quite the trooper not in your own house! I would be in the asylum if I were living with my ILs. Whatever happened to the apartment idea if the house was running behind?

MM - I love the new pictures! He is growing so quick. I'll have to watch my happiest baby dvd. Glad to hear it is working for you and the ILs are finally gone. And, 7 is a tiny shoe size!!

Nat - So glad your delivery wasn't too horrible and just a small tear. I had all over swelling after delivery and it does get better quickly. Rest up over there and let dh pamper you while he's home!

Mirka - I've been forewarned about the one month marker. Everyone keeps telling me it's another growth spurt and they'll be fussy. Aiden was good yesterday but then woke up at 4am and refused to go back to sleep for 1.5 hours. I did finally give him some Mylicon gas drops since he seemed to be gassy and it settled him a little. Hopefully, today will be better. Does he like a baby swing at all? Aiden is ok about the swing but I was thinking about trying a bouncer.

Bri - I'm sorry to hear about dd's surgery I hope it will go as smoothly as possible. Is it a long recovery? I'm sure Jayden is going to be out of those premie clothes in no time!

Robin - Sounds like a fun day over there! Do you like your baby bjorn? The sling didn't work for us and I'm tempted.

So, Aiden projectiled vomited this morning. It was on dh's watch while I was in the shower so there is no telling. He also had an explosive diaper with dh last night. So bad that dh decided to cut off Aiden's onesie Interesting theory on dh's part...

Aiden has his one month checkup on Wed so the question list begins

Mirka~ I am so sorry to hear that Gregor has been having some issues. I do have to admit, dh and I were laughing at your comment on taking him back for an exchange....hahaha
Hang in there. Have you tried massages for baby. I know with dd and ds I used massage every evening and it worked wonders. I even did massage during fussy times, and it worked. Just a thought. Thinking of you...

Nat~ It's so good to hear that you are doing well, and little Sean too!! I am so happy for you!! .....Anxiously awaiting to see pictures of your little man.
Take care and again Congratulations.

MM, Reid is just so handsome, I just love him!!!! I am glad you are alive after weekend! Denver is good city, I like it there, your ILs should love that place too and stay there!!!!! Keep sending them pictures, so they dont think they are missing something.......

Oh Boston, my poor thing, I know how you feel. You have to try somehow survive this time. I am sure you will love your own house so much when you will move into it, that you will do not want to go outside and for sure you will do not want to go visit your ILs at all for year!! And I hope they will leave you alone!! If that would be all by my decision, I would just keep sending pictures and didnt want ILs to come visit....... right, MM?????
You see?? MM did survived her weekend!!
Boston, it is here similar, just only for different reasons, I want to be nice, but it is just too much on me, I feel like I want to disappear.......
DH is helping with holding baby and talking to him, but other than that - nothing else, I know he dont feel well, all the time eating pills for pain and sits and hold his ear and moaning, so I dont want him to do more, but at last if he would be quiet and stop reminding me mess around, dogs are bringing in lots of pieces of dry grass, if I leave them out than they cry there behind door for hour and dont want to lay down there, dishes, laundry, cooking, crying Gregor, moaning DH, into all of this I am working on Tax 2007....... it just feel bad, I dont want anymore answer stupid questions like "what will be for dinner" ...if is just only 10.30am!!! I feel like I am sucked out!!!

Bri, I dont think Gregor has problem with gas, he is not pasing gas at all, just only round time he is pooping, but yes, he likes to lay on his tummy.

Peachy, I have two swings, one smaller and one bigger (with two directions), but he stays there just for few minutes without crying. Yes, I did also try if he will stop on his own after 5-10 minutes, but he didnt and it did feel to me like I am torturing him....

Cat, I hope you are right and I have just 2 more weeks to go!! Gregor was 1 month old yesterday (like Peachy's Aiden and our one month appt is on Thursday.

Nat, I am so happy to hear from you! Post some more pictures! I am glad for your little man.

Trish,

Peach- I'm laughing outloud at DH cutting off the onesie.

Mirka- You are superwoman! You have so much going on. When are your parents arriving? I hope that helps you. And maybe last night was a fluke and Gregor will be better tonight I hope so!

Boston - sorry, but we all have good and bad days... this too shall pass...

Peachy - the sling didn't work for us, that's why we bought babybjorn, which works great... Alex didn't even wake up when we put him in it or took him out...

MM - Reid is adorable! glad your monster-in-law is gone

Bri - i hope dd's surgery goes well!

Mirka - what's for dinner?

Cat- It was quite humorous. I had just given Aiden a bath about an hour before and then left him with dh so I could get washed up for bed. DH brings Aiden up to our bedroom and starts saying that he thinks he's wet but can't tell... Well, I look at his clothes and I can see poop and he was wearing a onesie and a sleepsack! DH then decides that if he takes the poopy onesie over Aiden's head that it will be a mess and he'll just cut it off. Good thing it was just a Target onesie! Don't you wonder how they even come up with these ideas??

Mirka - I'm hoping it just a 4 week thing too. Aiden has had a bad day over here too. Not wanting to nap at all! I just took him for a long walk and he finally feel asleep in the stroller. Now, I've got him in the stroller with the back door of the house open and him pushed up to the door so he won't realize we're back home. I'm dreading the next four days since it's supposed to rain over here. It is very hard on the nerves when they are just screaming for no reason at all. And, you have a husband that doesn't feel well too. Can you assign dh one duty a day so he can help a little? Maybe one day a week he's in charge of dinner or laundry? Hopefully, the babies will be more interested in their swings soon. I tried again today but he started fussing after about 10 mins. I just keep trying everything!

Does anyone else's baby hate to sleep flat? It's on my question list for the ped. I can get him to sleep a little as long as he is on an incline but he hates to be flat. I've heard that's a sign of acid reflux but maybe it's just a baby thing.

Mirka -- You can come disappear to my house in Oregon and I will cook dinner for you and Gregor and email DH to tell him what we're having at 10:30 in the morning so he doesn't ask you! You sound very ovewhelmed, I hope that your load is lightened soon. When are your parents coming?!?! I know it isn't funny, all that you're going through, but I just love the way you describe everything, even the moaning! Even though English isn't your first language, you are gifted with words and humor. Good idea about sending the ILs lots of pictures. I send some once a week, but maybe they need more to keep them away. There is a house for sale across the street, but DH convinced them they wouldn't like all the rain in Oregon, so they decided not to buy it. Whew!!! Reid loves you too!!!

Boston - I know what you mean about being short with DH. I have been with mine too, even before the trauma of his family coming to visit. I think it's the hormones and sleep deprivation. And for me, it's feeling this huge responsibility to provide ALL of Reid's sustenance!!! I'm sure not being in your own house for so **** long is also adding to your stress. Is there any ETA at all for completion? Imagine how insanely happy you will be to move in! Hang in there!

Cat - We had a one day visit and then multiple visits because of the jaundice and then a two week visit. They say the the baby should be back at his birth weight by two weeks so maybe that's why they have it then? I think Reid looks older because of his hair! And, it looks like it was cut and styled - he even has little sideburns! He's starting to look more like me I think...

Robin - What function are you going to tonight and who is watching the little one?

Peach - I died laughing about DH cutting off Aiden's onesie!!! That is SO like a man! And Reid projectile vomitted about an hour ago. I have done laundry for him almost every single day.

MM - congrats on surviving the "Korean War" (you're too funny). Sounds like your MIL had all kinds of interesting critiques and criticisms for you. Geesch!! I have to give you credit for not telling her to sleep with one eye open every night! hahaha I can totally relate to feeling territorial about the baby. I have been feeling that way all the time when my ILs are around...I mentioned it to my MIL and she has been better about hovering less and not trying to stimulate Julia every minute of the day. You're lucky that your ILs live in Denver. Oh, and oh my goodness...Reid is SUCH a cutie!!

Cat - I'm glad to hear that you're first day at home alone with DD and DS is going well. I am sure you've got your hands full!!

Peachy - DH did ask if I wanted him to find a place for us to live until the house is done...but, I feel terrible doing that. Business has been slow because DH has to basically build it from the ground up at his new firm. And I'd hate to spend all that extra money...though if it means my sanity, I will do it. I love your DH's solution to get the onesie off of Aiden. hahaha My DH will only put Julia's nighgowns on feet first instead of over her head because he's afraid of suffocating her. Our guys are too funny. Julia doesn't like to sleep on her back. When we put her to bed on her back, she rolls onto her left side every time. I did put a blanket under the head of her bassinet mattress to create a small incline to help with the spitting up at night. I read in one of my baby books that it was OK to do that...I just can't stay awake for an extra 20 or 30 minutes after the middle of the night feedings to hold her semi-upright and let gravity help her digest and keep from spitting up!

Mirka - you poor thing! You have so much going on right now. I hope you have some extra hands helping you out! Yesterday I felt like I wanted to disappear too...hop on a plane to someplace warm and turn off my cell phone. You will get through this. DH will be back to his old self before you know it!!

Last night, I told my MIL that I appreciate her help but, I'm trying to live here and function with Julia as if we were on our own...that I need to know I can do it...especially so that being on our own in our own hosue won't be such an adjustment. Her reply was, "Well, I think that's silly. You wouldn't go cold turkey without our help when you move back into your own house." Uh, yes, that is the plan! To move back into our OWN house and have our OWN space and only have you over to our OWN house when you're invited! hahaha
