Hey Girls,

Reid is one month today and becoming a handful . My sweet, easy baby basically disappeared this week. He sleeps in the late morning to early afternoon (10 a.m. to about 2 p.m. for 2 hour stretches between eating) but then around 4:00 starts fussing big time. He'll be eating, all content and happy and then BAM - wailing and flailing about. Then he calms down after a couple hours and then at 8:00 starts up again. Calms down then at midnight we are in it for the long haul. Up every 30-45 minutes from midnight until almost 5 a.m. The cycle is calm for a little while then out of nowhere, wailing and fussing. He doesn't cry inconsolably, but he needs to be shhhh'd and swayed from side to side or else he starts up again. SHEESH! I am so afraid he has COLIC!!! We started the Mylicon drops two days ago and they seem to help a tiny bit. We did the Gripe Water first and his skin got all red and ruddy, so I think he must be allergic to the herbs in it. So far no reaction to the Mylicon. The sleepless nights have put me totally on edge and I am constantly short with DH. Poor thing. I'm like a ticking bomb - tick tick tick BOOM tick tick tick BOOM!

Peach - Aiden is sooooo yummy in that outfit. Plus, wow he has really filled out, I can totally see it in his face. Too adorable. Reid has those herringbone pants too (Gap, right?) but I got his in size 6-12m for next winter. It is sooo fun to dress them up! I swear, boys are as much fun to dress as girls, no kidding! I was so happy to read about your full night of sleep in the CRIB but sorry to read that you had a set back night last night. Hang in there, you're in very good company. This HAS to get easier, right? And congrats about having your investment house under contract - those lucky ducks will be living in a gorgeous place!

Cat - Thanks for the link to the bouncy. You're right, it's discontinued. Stupid Fisher Price! I went to BRU and all the bouncy chairs seemed too "exposed" for lack of a better word, so I ordered the Boppy bouncer online. They only had the *very* pink version at BRU, but it looked cozier than the other bouncy seats. I hope Reid likes it! I can't believe Tysen is in 3-6m clothes already. Reid is fitting his 0-3 really well now, but something are still roomy, which is surprising considering his chubbiness! How are you handling having DD and a newborn all day? I want another baby soon but I had my best friend and her 18 month old DD over and she was sooooo busy, I couldn't get my head around how I would ever manage!

Maybe - (and Peach) Reid hates to be swaddled too but I do it at night because he startles himself with his (always flailing) arms. I feel guilty too, but then I remember he was smushed up and all comfy inside me that way for 10 months, so he just doesn't KNOW that it's actually his comfort zone! How's that for mommy justification? And I'm still spotting dark red streaks, but not continuously...are you still wearing a liner or pad?

Boston - I'm with Cat, no matter what you do about breastfeeding vs. formula, you are still a wonderful mother who loves her little girl!!! I understand about feeling guilty though - whenever I even give Reid a bottle of b-milk that's been out for more than an hour and has gotten cold, I feel bad, which is so silly! I think we just beat ourselves up about things like this but it's really not justified. My friend's son had a slight dairy allergy and she was still able to have milk on her cereal, in her coffee, etc. but she just stopped drinking milk and eating ice cream and yogurt - the really full dairy content things and she was fine. I hope that's the case for you too. How's the house coming?

Lorenali - GOOD LUCK ON MONDAY!!!! I know just how you're feeling - so anxious but excited and for me, a little scared too. Can't wait to hear all about your girls' arrival. We are still learning here too, but hope that you find our trials and tribulations helpful in coming months!

Robin - Hooray for moving into your new house!! I hope the staging works great for you. It was a good price you got for six areas!

Nat's computer is out of commission due to flooding (no naughty DH this time ) but she's going to try logging on next week.

I'm attaching a few recent pictures of Reid. The one of him in a little jacket and jeans I couldn't resist taking because he somehow put his little hand in his pocket!!! My mom was holding him and was like - look at Reid!!! Even though he's being such a booger right now, I cannot resist loving him up all day long.

There is hope. We had another good night last night. He went to bed at 8:45pm, woke at 1am, bottle, back to bed till 6am, bottle, and then back to bed till 9am. Wow! So the magic trick last night was the Miracle Blanket. I had always referred to these as a baby straightjacket but a girlfriend swears by hers. I called her in desperation and tried hers last night. Worked like a charm! Houdini never escaped from his swaddle!! He was even smiling when I put it on the second time like "Yay Mom for helping me get sleep!". I also let him sleep in the Fisher Price Soothing Motions Glider so he would stay more upright and took lots of time for burps. Now lets see if I can repeat it tonight

He does love the bjorn all of a sudden. I took him and the dog for a walk yesterday and he slept the whole time. Then, I put him back in it to go to the mall to get dh a valentine's gift and that became his evening nap. Today, dh is off so we're headed up to the family farm.

If anyone else is having issues with escaping from the swaddles, try this:
Baby wraps, baby accessory, colic, infant sleep, remedies, infant health, crying baby

yeah peachy! So exciting. Hmm, maybe i'll have to try that blanket. Coupon ED85U gives you $5 off plus when you add a blanket to cart, you get 10% off one right now. Course, then you pay about $7 shipping, so my final total was about $28 again. If you order two , you get 15% off each. I just got my baby bjorn active in the mail yesterday and am so excited to try it out. My back's been sore from walks w/ the other one. I'm also going to try nursing w/ it on-- anyone done this? it says you can....

MM- soo cute! Tysen's only outgrown the 0-3 cotton onesies & sleepers from gap, old navy & target. The outfits from Janie & Jack finally fit. I REALLY hope things get easier for you soon. Let us know about the boppy bouncer.

anyone else getting cookie magazine? It just showed up in my mailbox and i have no clue why... but it was fun to read... it had an article on serena & lily this month, and an article on how to vacation in paris w/ your kids... (sounds amazing, but not on our to-do list just yet)

Hi everyone.
MM- Oh my gosh, Reid is adorable!! I love his cute little jeans outfit, and you're right, it is fun to dress little boys, too! You cracked me up with the time bomb. I definately know how that feels! Luckily Josh is back to sleeping longer (about 6 hours this week) so I feel soooooo much calmer and happier! Hope Reid gets there soon. Josh also has a cranky period in the evening, usually between 4 and 6pm. I feel so bad for him then.

Peachy- Yay for the baby bjorn. Glad Aiden likes it. The swaddling was definately helpful for us too. Then Josh started to really dislike it (around 6 weeks or so) and we switched to the sleep bags and he's done really well with those so far. I hope I'm not jinxing myself.

We have our first playdate this Tues and our 2 month pedi appt the same day. Josh will be getting the first round of his immunizations. I know he needs them but I can't help being a little bit nervous about them. I am attaching a couple of new pics of Josh. Hopefully I downloaded them right.

Maggie - Josh is adorable! I'm glad to see some more chubby cheeks I'm nervous about the 2 month shots too. Got to do some research on those one of these days...

MM - Reid is such a cutie and look at the burberry jacket! It is fun trying all those outfits that had been in the closet for months. And, yes, those are the gap pants with the herringbone. They even have a real fly! Keep up the faith over there. I think we're all struggling or at least you can add me to the list. I have at least a breakdown cry every 3rd day. Yesterday morning I spent about an hour crying to dh about how I was a horrible mother and just couldn't do this anymore and sit at home with screaming all day while he escaped to work. I've decided sleep deprivation and screaming babies have got to be the worst form of torture!

Cat - Luckily, I have a store in walking distance from my house that is full of baby goods including the Miracle Blanket. If it works again tonight, then it'll be on my to-do list for tomorrow. I hear you with the sore back! Mine is killing me from wearing the bjorn so much yesterday and today. Let me know if the Active is any better. I saw that about BF while in the bjorn.... interesting idea... might work with those snap down tank tops...

We spent the day in lots of fresh air up at the family farm today so I hope this guy sleeps well. He's only taken one nap today so I'm hoping he's just a night sleeper and eventually will like the swing (or something) during the day other than being carried around. I feel like my arms should look more toned with all this carrying! Just finished organizing medical bills for our taxes this year.... so far we're up to $28K and that doesn't include childbirth or any of those other u/s in those last few months that still need to be billed for. GEEZ!! I hope Aiden wants to go to a state college for free!

Let's all just keep hoping this gets magically easier between months 2-3! Cat and Bri, you can laugh on your end!

Lorenali - GOOD LUCK!!! I am sending sooooo many happy thoughts plus endurance and strength your way. You are going to do great! Havana called me the day of my induction and kept saying "if I can do it, you can do it." I'm saying the same to you. Cannot wait to read that the girls arrived! Many hugs.

Evita - Reid says thank you for saying such nice things about me! Are you getting excited to meet your little one?! I so admire that you haven't found out whether you're having a girl or boy. I am not that patient! You will find out very soon - how exciting!

Peach - I LOVE my miracle blanket too. My best friend swore by it and said I just had to get one, so of course I got two! It has saved us more than once. I cracked up about Aiden smiling when you put him in the second time. Gosh, he is SO cute!!! I love his strawberry blond hair. Doesn't the tiny Burberry just kill you? I couldn't resist...had to order it from the UK! Dh was like - "I don't even want to know where you got that or how much it cost." As for the sleepless nights - solidarity, sister. It must get better and just imagine the celebration we'll have when it does.

Cat - I got Cookie too...wonder where they got my info. I loved the article about Serena and Lily since that's where I got Reid's bedding. I'm also mysteriously getting Parents magazine. Hmm...you still need to tell me how you are managing being at home with a toddler and newborn. Inquiring minds want to know!

Maggie - OH MY. Josh is so gorgeous. Those eyes! He is going to be a ladykiller. Thanks for the encouragement about it getting better at six weeks. Here's hoping! Have fun at your play date and let us know how the 2 month appt. goes. I am stressing already about vaccinations and having to defend our decision to space them out.

I got cagey today so called my BF who was also feeling trapped after being home all weekend with a sick toddler, so we left the babies with the boys and went to go see 27 Dresses. It was adorable and get this -there are SO many great chick flicks coming out this Spring! I literally want to see them all. There's a new Patrick Dempsey one coming out called "Maid of Honor" I already have the opening date on my calendar.

Btw - Baby Gap is having a HUGE sale right now. I got tons of stuff for $9.99 and under.

Hope everyone else is well!!!

Good morning, everyone... so many posts over the weekend, i can't beleive it...

Boston - sorry about Julia's rush, but as Cat said, how do they know that she is alergic to milk/soy? it could be a number of other things too.

Cat - our house will go back on the market next week. We will do an agent open house, but not sure when.

Lorenali - good luck to you today!!!

MM - great pics of Reid! Love them! sorry he is not sleeping well. Alex sleeps well at night (thank God)... he was very fussy Saturday all day long, so on Sunday we put him in his stroller and out the door. We took a short wallk and then just left him by the door (left the door open, of course, so he was in our field of vision the whole time)... he slept from 11am until 4pm!!!

maggie - Josh is absolutely adorable!

my mom called yesterday and asked if she can come over and take care of the baby for a month or so when i go back to work! We didn't ask her, she just offered and of course we said that we would love it she is so excited and so are we! that means no daycare until April
