Peach, glad your pedi was able to make you feel better And the sheet i linked to is a cotton sheet, not really a sheet saver. you just have to unzip around the edges to change the sheet, the bottom doesn't get changed as regularly.

Too funny about your parents and the congo line!

Bri- ah, so you have a pack and play. gotcha. Are you still liking the triumph? You don't have issues w/ the straps over his shoulders sometimes cutting into his neck? I'm thinking that was my issue w/ it rear-facing.... dd still loves it forward facing though so i think we'll just be getting another convertible for ty. (we just bought the sunshine radian and still need one more)

Cat- Pete did the same- slept in the guest room until they started sleeping through the night. I do all the over night getting up and I take them downstairs as they get up in the am because "he's gotta function at work". I say that much less resentfully than it sounds. The great thing is until last night they didn't get up at all at night. I have to completly replicate the co-sleeper setup in their crib tonight. The co-sleeper is just like a pack and play that goes next to your bed with a side down between, they haven't both been in my bed all this time, just in case

Robin - I bought Aiden two pairs of shorts at Target this week and they are great. I'm sure Alex is going to sleep soundly tonight!

Bri - I know Jayden is the first one around here on solids and I've got some questions. We're starting veggies soon. How many times a day do you give Jayden solids? What time of day do you do it? And, do you still give the bottle too with that feeding? Do you do the solids before or after the bottle? Thanks!

Lynn - You are doing such an amazing job with your hands completely full.

Well, my stomach sleeper flipped again tonight as soon as I put him down. I'm giving up over here! It's official.

Peachy- When I first started I gave him a new veggie or fruit every couple of days...just once a day. Now that we've determined that he has no reaction here is how I do it....

Breakfast - half a container of fruit and several tablespoons of oatmeal ( Rice cereal constipated him to bad) and 5 oz of breastmilk

He then gets 6 oz breastmilk for his next 2 bottles usually one around lunch and one mid afternoon.

Dinner- Half container of veggies, several tablespoons of oatmeal, and 5 oz breastmilk

Before bed- 1 oz cereal mixed with 6-7 oz breastmilk.

For breakfast and dinner I feed him the solids in his highchair first, and then give him his bottle.

If at any time he goes 2 days without pooping...I give him 2oz prune juice mixed with 2 oz water, and that usually does the trick!

I get the Gerber stage 1 organic foods that come 2 containers per package. They are like $0.90 a set at the grocery stores, and Target also carries them.

Thanks so much Bri!! That's exactly what I was trying to figure out. We're already doing oatmeal in a bottle so we'll put that on a spoon for our first attempt tomorrow. I'm assuming at the beginning to do the new veggie for the one feeding before the bottle right? Is this whole starting food thing in any of the baby books? I'll have to look back through. Most the books aren't too specific and my Ped. was vague. Guess it's time to sanitize the high chair!

Yes, veggie before bottle..

I followed a similac chart I received. I get formula coupons and formula cans in the mail and use none.

peach- i think this is another area where you find out what works for you. At first, my dr said to feed the bottle or breast first then food at each feeding because she said most of baby's nutrients should still be formula/breast milk. BAbycenter has the same thing under how to start on this link, but i've read other places that say food then bottle, so... figure out what works
Introducing solid foods - BabyCenter

Also, if you go to gerber's website, you can print coupons for food
Gerber
and you can register for them to mail you coupons

good luck! let us know how aiden likes it!
Bri- where's a picture of Jayden eating?

Hi ladies, I guess I forgot to mention that the boys have been eating too. With Nicholas I don't worry about him drinking enough because he takes over 35 oz in bottles everyday but Evan really only drinks about 24-30 so I make sure he drinks before food. I have a good friend who's little one is tiny (9 months) and 16 pounds and her doc said solids an hour after bottle. I give the boys rice with a veggie or fruit once a day and not the same time everyday. From what I've read the time doesn't matter and with the two of them it has to be when they are both in a good enough mood. I've tried when they're hungry and it doesn't go well, they are too impatient. My guys have no problem with constipation so I like the rice but I have barley to try next. I'm sticking with the Earth's best stage 1 and target has the best selection. I'm not crazy about the gerber organics that are in plastic just becaus eI feel so mad that they came out with this info about the BPA after I was using Avent bottles for 4 months. Now I'm tring to find a glass dish to heat and feed them from. Ideally divided so I could have their food in 1 dish. So far they like carrots, pears and sweet potatoes and real bananas.

Peachy If you don't mind I'll send you pictures to see if you can upload them. Can you do it if they're on shutterfly?
Thanks Cat i registered at gerber, every coupon helps
