Cat - I think you should take dd to stock up on all different fairy princess outfits after halloween this year. She is too cute! Our HomeGoods had lots of fairy outfits when I was there the other day. DH's restaurant is still under construction. Hard to believe. The good news is they have guaranteed dh will be on their payroll by Sept 1st at the latest whether the restaurant is open or not. In the meantime, he's talking to some people about doing some short term wine consulting on the side. It's definitely "interesting" times as they say!
Lynn - I would love to see pictures of the men watching all the babies At least your MIL will understand the mess isn't yours. I was just thinking about logistics. Do you bathe the boys together in one tub or one at a time in the tub? Just curious. I'm sure they will be glad to see Mommy in the morning! |

I wanted to bring one but babies are not invited. My SIL isn't bringing her almost 1 year old and DH's cousin (sister of the bride to be) isn't bringing her 9 month old twin boys either. Oh well, I've been getting away with having DH help more by saying it's practice and I want to make sure they'll take bottles/ go to sleep for him
he's falling for it.Peachy I used to fit them together in the baby bath but now it's in a row, they wait for each other in the bouncy seat before or after. We don't do bathes everyday. Good night all

didn't realize homegoods had such things peach- i'll have to check mine out- thanks!
I now have ty in the sitting contraption for the tub and him and dd take baths together (as long as she's not too dirty, if she just did some gardening or something, he gets a bath and then she does) Lynn- I can't believe that nursing babies are excluded! I would probably take my baby anyway! It's a shower for goodness sakes, nothing so formal.

cat - that's too funny... hehe... we have a 4 bedroom house + one room that is not finished, we are meeting with a contractor in 2 weeks to see how much it will cost us to finish it... it's a good size room, 18x14' so i think it will be big enough for the twins... they will have to share it (assuming Irina is carrying 2 girls) ![]()

DayCARE - Name tag question.
Girls, I am turning to you for professional advice. For the girls who are sending their baby to the day care, do you know where I could order small plastic sticker name tags for bottles, cups, spoons etc. I used a non erasable marker, but it seems to fade off after a couple of days of washing. Thank You. Kavitha |

Also, Mira went from taking very little milk and food at the day care, to finishing all her bottles. So, the day care people asked me to fill up more in each bottle, as she gives them a look (like where is the rest!!) after finishing it.
At home, I nurse as well as she is used to taking bottle from week 3. |

kathy- glad she's taking bottles now! And my daycare provides stickers for the bottles. the sharpie markers stay on the cups that we used w/ dd, but i have also resorted to use blue painters tape (sold at home depot or loews) and that peels off VERY well and you can use the marker on there...

Kathy - I was going to suggest the same as Cat and using either masking tape or painter tape with a sharpie for the name.
Question for those doing food already. Aiden loves the food! But, now I'm running into 2 problems. (1) he really doesn't want his bottle and sometimes throws a fit but would eat endless food and (2) he won't take the bottle unless he is starving which means waiting 4-5 hours between bottles and I'm having to keep him up late to give him that last bottle. Any ideas? If he only takes 3 bottles a day, then that is only 24oz. of formula a day and I don't think that is enough. I'm going to ask the Ped. on Monday too. |

my ped had said to feed bottle then food... but i know that differs by some peds. let us know what your dr says.. maybe try a cup w/ formula (something new?)? they're able to drink thru straws at 6 months- it's really good for oral motor development & dd did it...

Thanks Cat. It's a little confusing now that Aiden put himself on a schedule. This is our typical day:
Wakes around 7:30 & bottle Nap from 9-10am snack around 10am bottle at noon nap around 12:30pm wakes around 2:30 & snack bottle at 4pm nap around 5pm wakes around 6:30pm & snack bottle at 8pm I know I could take out the last snack and maybe he would take a bottle a little earlier but aren't we supposed to be transitioning to more food now that they are 6 months? |

Cat, Thanks for the links. I like the last one too.

We had a "rough" day over here. Urgh. I guess it's just a transition stage. So, Aiden absolutely refused to take his 4pm bottle. I tried, dh tried, and finally at 5pm we had to give up
He would take food so we gave him an extra snack. I'm not sure what to do. He did take the 8pm bottle no problem. I guess he's just trying to transition to less formula per day?? I think we're going to keep his first bottle at 8oz and try smaller bottles for the two middle of the day feedings and see what happens. Problem #2. Aiden randomly decided he no longer wants to be rocked to sleep for naps. He just started screaming on Monday when I tried to rock him. We've just been laying him in his crib and he puts himself to sleep for naps. But, at night, I've still been rocking him to sleep. Until tonight. He pitched a fit when I started rocking so I put him in the crib. I'm so sad.... it's been 15 mins and while he's not crying I can see he isn't asleep either and I don't know what's going to happen. These transitions are so tough when you've got a good system going. I know in the long run it will make life much easier to not have to worry about rocking him and leaving him with a sitter but I hate watching him struggle to fall asleep. |

Cat-Thanks for the blue painter's tape idea. We've got a ton of that!
Peachy- Sorry Aiden doesn't like to be rocked anymore. I would definately miss doing that. Josh has actually decreased his rocking time in the pm and becomes really cranky and squirmy if I don't put him in bed a little before he falls asleep, so that's what we've been doing now. As for the food, I asked the pedi at my recent visit and surprisingly he said to give him as much food as he wants and let him decide on the bottles. I was really surprised. He said as he eats more food he will start to decrease on the bottles. right now he is drinking usually around 24-32 ounces per day. He also said to start giving him water from a cup, which I have been doing and he loves it! I don't give too much, but it's nice if we are out b/c we can give that to him pretty easily to avoid him getting dehydrated in the summer heat. Hope that helps! |

Maggie - Thank you SO much. That helps a lot. I spoke to 2 friends last night that have kids a few months older than Aiden and they reassured me too. It's so weird to me how the baby will just suddenly decide to change something! I wish I was that decisive!
I guess the good news is he loves food and actually slept perfectly. I'm sure there will be some other drama in a few weeks. Thanks for the reassurance! |
