Gina - I am sorry for all the stress with MIL. I agree w/ Cat.... maybe dh needs to invite her over on the weekend so he can see how they are together. It is hard to trust someone who hasn't spent much time around kids. My own mom was a kindergarten teacher and she still isn't great with the baby! Just take it day by day.

Grandpa is hanging on. We got him on some different meds now that he is up here with doctors that are closely monitoring him. He's a little more lucent and with us if that makes sense. My parents are taking my grandparents to the farm for the weekend so we're going to go stay up there too. I've been taking Aiden over to see Grandpa every afternoon this week so it's been lots of running around.

Cooper is doing ok too. He goes back to see a vet. oncologist on Tuesday. What a week. I finally took Aiden to get professional pictures done yesterday. We went to The Picture People and they did an incredible job. I love them! As soon as I get my email link, I'll post some. Of course they spelt my name wrong on the first email attempt.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'm off to pack up some stuff before I go pick up Aiden from the gym daycare. A good friend of mine is in her 2ww after ivf and 2 years of IF treatments. Just called her to check in. Brought back lots of memories

Too funny Robin! Wow a lot changes in a year!

We are headed back up to the farm for the weekend. DH happens to be off and my grandparents and parents are up there so we're going to spend the night.

I'm still waiting on the link for my pictures of Aiden. I have no patience... Already called yesterday to see what the hold up was!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! In the past few days, Aiden has figured out how to go from crawling to sitting and back to crawling and has finally got the forward crawling down instead of just crawling backwards and around. It happens so quick. You can just see the wheels turning when he sees a toy far away that he wants

MIL is not coming back! Dh and I had a nice talk this morning and I explained everything that she had done wrong and he totally agreed that she shouldn't come back. I coudln't believe it! So he called her and told her we didn't need her. My parents are coming back. I am SO relieved I can't even tell you!

Peach~ We had Emily's 6 month pictures taken at The Picture People today. I just love that place! I can't believe Aiden is crawling!!! That is so great! I posted some...

Cat~ I do like the idea of "supervised" visits for the mil! That will be the only time she gets to spend with Emily!

Gina-I'm glad things worked out for you with the MIL situation. She sounds like she was being very disrespectful towards you. The pics of Emily are adorable.

Peachy-Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I'm glad to hear he is perking up with you guys, though. Hope Cooper does well at his vet onc visit.

We are taking Josh to the Aquarium tomorrow-it's supposed to rain (as usual) and he really loves fish, so I think he'll enjoy himself.
I went to the RE to plan for my FET this fall, and I was diagnosed with hypothyroid-I guess it can happen after pregnancy. They put me on meds and will check the levels again in Aug. Anyone have this and have it reverse? (fingers crossed)

Yeah Gina, way to go. I have many issues with MIL. She was actually thinking that she was going to be watching my boys next yaer when my mother had retired early to do it. My Mom has her faults but she would spend the whole day, teaching entertaining and enriching the boys' day where MIL would be just like you had, watching TV and feeding them all kinds of things I don't want them having. She always makes comments like "Sorry boy, I would let you try it if Mommy wasnt' around" Yeah my baby is dying for pie. Anyway we finally came to the agreement that my Mom will watch them when I work 2 days a week in September and MIL will filll in if I have to go to the grocery store or so I can do individual things withb each of them. We found out SIL is pregnant with #2 and will be in Minnesota for a year so MIL will be heading out there to help her for a few months over the winter. All worked out great.
The playdate went great, different ages made it interesting. I'll get pictures up soon. Lynn

Thanks Maggie. How was the aquarium?

Lynn~ Sounds like things worked out with your mil too. I'm glad!

Cat~ Actually, dh's grandparents raised him...she doesn't get the credit for that one! Did the Picture People email you pictures? I didn't think they did that?

I still don't have my email from our pics Apparently they did email it but spelt my first name Rachel instead of the correct way Rachael even though I spelled it twice for them. I called them friday and they swore they would send it out again. Looks like I'll be making another call tomorrow... We just got home from spending the weekend with Grandpa. We're trying to think of some possible long term solutions if we can get him a little more stable and mobile. My mom is freaking out about living with her ILs indefinitely.

Gina - The pictures are adorable! They did a great job. I was super happy with mine. I'm glad everything worked out with MIL afterall.

Lynn - The party looks like a huge hit! Have you recovered yet?

Maggie - I am hypothyroid. Have been for years now. Sometimes it's more stable than others but I've never heard of it reversing itself. I think 25% of all women have thyroid issues. I know in my family alone my mom does, my paternal grandmother and my sil! Anyway, mine is a little off again after pregnancy now. I just went to the endocrinologist last week. Once they start you on medicine, they should be able to check your thyroid again in a month to see if the dosage is right. It takes a while to see if the dosage is working. Is your RE going to monitor it? Makes sure it is closely watched during your pregnancy too. It's common to have to adjust dosages during pregnancy.

Cat - Hi! Miss ya! Everything going ok?

Oh, we tried the sippy cup finally yesterday. Aiden's been drinking out of a normal glass if we hold it for him. He loved the sippy! Got it immediately and is hooked now.

peach, we tried a sippy today too. i've been attempting straw cups because they're better motor-devlopment-wise but he was getting frustrated (hard to find a good baby straw cup that's bpa free so i was using a toddler straw cup which just wasn't working) so i decided to try a soft-mouth sippy and he drained about 1/4 cup of water before i realized he was drinking it! he was very upset when i took it away. He was so much more excited about the cup than a bottle. So, tomorrow I think i'll try putting breast milk in the sippy- that's what i did w/ dd. By one year, she was drinking cold breast milk out of the cup and then we just transitioned to whole milk. Isn't it fun to watch them learn new things?

Maggie- how was the aquarium? We still haven't taken dd there (and she's 2) but she does love the zoo... picture people does email you your sittings and then you can order pictures later online if you'd like. it's a nice feature. I don't know if you have to be part of the portrait club for it to work or not.

peach- if you have the stub from your sitting i think you can go to their website, create an account and "claim" your sitting w/out them emailing you anything.

So funny that we all tried the sippy cups over the weekend! I was thinking about switching to all sippy and no bottles soon too. Aiden's never been in love with the bottles. We just started the transition to soy today. 1 ounce soy and 7 ounces alimentum. If it goes well, then every Monday, we'll add another ounce of soy.

Cat - Urgh! I threw away part of my receipt already. Geez. I saved part of it (survey code) so maybe it will have the info. Not sure if I'm desperate enough to dig through the trash
