Thanks Robin! I can't quite decide if I should try changing it up. I was trying to keep everything stable since we started mixing in the soy formula this week. How often does Alex take a bottle? 4 times a day or less?

Peachy~ Emily is only getting about 14 oz of formula a day and then I bf once in the morning for about 10 minutes. She gets solids 3 times a day, 1 1/2 ice cube trays. So she is getting liquids every 4-4 1/2 hours and solids every 3-4 hours. I was worried that she wasn't getting enough also, but the pedi yesterday told me it was perfect and not to change a thing. I think they will let us know if they are hungry! I give her a sip of water or juice diluted with water after every feeding of solids.

Thanks Gina and Robin! I feel like I dump so much formula these days but he's just so hard to predict. I keep thinking I could make the two middle bottles of the day smaller but then today he decided to take 7 oz. for the 4 pm feeding. It's just random. I've written it down but there is no pattern. He loves the solids and any type of biscuit, puff, cookie. Our formula costs $10/32oz. so you feel really wasteful when you wind up dumping 12 oz. a day. But, I know we are moving in the direction of more solids and less formula so I just refuse to go backwards now to only formula. He was in the 33rd% at his 6 month check in for weigh but the ped. wasn't too worried either so I just have to relax I guess. If he's hungry he'll eat.

Gina - It sounds like you are doing the solid feedings between the bottle feedings like I am. Did I understand that right? Did your Ped. say that was the way to do it for now? Are you doing 2 or 3 bottles a day plus the bf'ing in the morning? Just curious.

I just started food twice a day. For all feedings w/out food, he gets 6 to 6.5 ounces in a bottle and then at the feedings w/ food, he's taking cereal w/ fruit in the am and a veggie in the pm and he takes the am feeding w/ a 3 ounce bottle and the pm feeding w/ about 3 ounces cold in a cup. Peach- can you make up two smaller bottles that have 3 ounces and if he takes one and wants more, give him the other? I have the same issue w/ not wanting to waste liquid but here it's hard for me to keep up w/ demand (he only gets breastmilk) so i've sent "refills" in separate capped bottles to add a little more to a bottle if he's crying for more.

She gets 3 6oz bottles a day + bf in the morning and early evening. Yes, I'm giving solids in between bottles. The pedi said he thought it was perfect and not to change anything. I read that you shouldn't give a bottle at the same time as solids and if you give a drink with solids it should be from a sippy cup. So that's what we've been doing the whole month of July. It's really helped set up a schedule for her now that she's starting daycare today. I know how much to send with her. I did buy some extra formula for emergencies. But we give her 6 oz and even if she gobbles it down we don't give her more, even if she seems like she could take it. But she is not on the small side, so it sounds like you should give more if he wants it. I am now bf'ing twice a day and not pumping anymore. It's so nice not to be hooked up to that cow machine!!

Peachy, I love your response about hep B shot. My dr office keeps asking as well. I'll remember that one for next time.
Mirka, great video, he is like a super baby. If hubby is being so awful, can you just kind of get a little break away with you and Gregor? I know you have so much to do on the farm I wish we could help you so you could take a break and that lady calling you the grandma is crazy, you look great for a lady who has a super baby, takes care of a very cranky husband and runs a whole farm. I wish you called her bling or something.
Peachy good news about Cooper. Sorry rushing before Nick is up

Just got off the phone with Havana and she said to say hello and that I *had* to post this hilarious story. I was literally crying when she was telling me! So they are in "little Havana" aka Miami right now with her DH's family. Since no one in the house speaks english, Havana has been giving her spanish a whirl. Well today she MEANT to tell DH's grandmother that she "looked attractive today!" But instead, she told her "You look like sex today!" Bahahaaaahaha!!! I guess grandma looked up at her and said "que?!" DH was too busy rolling around on the ground laughing to translate properly. Did I mention that grandma is 86?

Peach - I love your response about the Hep B! Why is everyone so shot crazy? I am grateful my ped and his staff just follow the schedule I requested because I dont know that I could be as ballsy as you! Great news about Cooper. What a relief! Sorry I cannot be of any help about the bottle feeding since Reid has been on his extended/forever bottle strike for so long!

Mirka - OMG. Gregor is SUPERBABY!!! He needs a cape and a mask! Are you secretly part of The Incredibles family? So sorry that DH is being so difficult - that's putting it nicely. I know he has been through a lot, but so have you and it is really unfair that you have to be around all this negativity. You and Gregor can always escape to Oregon, I could drive you out to the country and you'll feel right at home.

Nat - About the Jumperoo try moving his legs up and down or moving the little scrunchy things up and down. Once he "gets" the bouncing, he'll never want to stop.

Bri - Our home is on the market too. Good luck! It was SUCH a pain getting it ready to sell. The market is really weird right now, so hopefully yours will go quickly. Mine has not sold yet! If it doesn't we are happy to stay since we love our house. Keep us posted!

Hi Cat! Happy Friday! Are you at home or in the office today? If you're home, IM me, I have a quick question for you.

Oh and I can't remember who asked, but Reid also LOVES remotes, keyboards, etc. DH took one of our old keyboards and cut off the cables and made it into a toy for Reid. It's his very favorite thing!

MM, Reid is so cute. Did I told you I would eat him??? Bite by bite............just too cute!
...and why you want IM only from Cat?? Why not mine IM???? Funny Havana story!!! Hm...Oregon, that sounds faaaar, but who knows?...maybe one day......

Lin, never did hear word bling before. I have to be careful with words, sometimes I still messup and say something what I should not!

Cat, maybe you forgot, I did ask you please, if you can tell me, how did you find out Ty has ear infection? how he did act??

Peachy, thanks for invitation! I dont think you need to be worry about formula amount what Aiden eats, that is what Gregor eats, but he eats really good everything else, just make smoller bottles so you dont waste much.

Hi Nat, Gina, Bri, Maggie!
Thanks to all for feeling with me, but I will be fine again.

Guess where my husband is? Went to casino again with his mother. This time Luisiana......
And he went because he has "C"
I dont care anymore. It was very nice day today and I have now great evening, so quiet and so relaxing. He should stay there for few months.

Have a great weekend everybody!!!

mirka- sorry! he wouldnt nurse on one side- he cried if he was laying on just that side-- also he got a little gunk in his eye--often a sign of ear infection in babies.

Mirka,

Nice to see Grogor cruising. Mine is so contended just rolling. A month ago, she pretended that she was going to crawl. But hasn't crawled yet.
Sorry to hear about DH's activities. It must be hard. But you have your parents for moral support. That is good.

MM,

Nice pictures of Reid. Great idea about the keyboard. Mira likes keyboard too and now I can find a old one to play with.

Peach~ I missed it...what was your response to the hep b shot? My dr is fine with the alternative shot schedule right now, but said we may have some disagreements at 1 year. We'll see.

Yes, the MMR. The alt schedule says to do all 3 separate and to do mumps first. Dr says to do measles first because of the recent outbreaks. I agreed...so I don't know why he thinks we'll have a problem?

did he say he could get them separately? That's great if he did. I haven't approached the one year appt yet. My ped said she had no problem doing what i wanted but I didn't give her the whole schedule, i've just said when i go in for an appt what i want him to have. I guess i need to talk about separating the mmr at his 6 month though so she'll be ready for that at the 12 month.
