Thanks Robin. The heat is horrible. It was 100 degrees here yesterday. So much for walking outdoors! It doesn't even cool off below 90 before Aiden's bedtime.
I don't know what to do with dh lately. I feel like I'm talked out. We keep talking about the same things over and over. Just like the other dhs around here, he just isn't pitching in at all. I wake up over morning with Aiden and have him on my own all day. Plus, I'm still working and doing all the household stuff and trying to pitch in with Grandpa lately. I've asked dh repeatedly to wake up with Aiden twice a week to give me a little break and I've told him over and over that I need some non-mom time to myself. Last week I was gone for 3 days at the farm with Aiden by myself. I come home and dh wakes up with Aiden the next day but that's it. Oh, and he'll get up with Aiden and then when Aiden goes down for his first nap an hour later dh gets back into our bed which just wakes me up. I've never gone to conseling before in a relationship or alone but I'm thinking about it. Even that is complicated with dh's schedule changing every week and trying to find someone to cover for Aiden. I just need part of my pre-baby life back if that makes any sense... |

Robin- No, the tablets are next. We are running a temp this morning of 101. He is fussy and the last two nights have been rough. I feel like I have a hangover from lack of sleep. I can't wait to find out what you are having.
Peachy- I have gone to counseling and it did no good( this was in my first marriage). I do think that they should help out more especially since you can not have a more planned pregnancy than the one we all went through to get our little ones here. I feel like mine should be more on board, but oh well. I can't change him just have to take care of the kiddos. I think that he is working on another tooth, though I see none on top nor do I feel them. His nose is running on one side only, he is cranky, not sleeping well, and dd is looking forward to school starting at this point because it has been two very long days. How bad was the accident?

peach- i find i'm happier if i just accept that there will never be 50/50 on housework. Although there was a study a couple years ago about dh's who do more housework get more $ex. I sent that to dh and amazingly, he did a lot more
I find that when they do some work around the house, praise and $ex go along way to them helping out more... Sounds like you could use a date night as well- to concentrate on the two of you. Things are easier w/ two parents, even if you're doing the lion's share... Hope you work things out!!!Men who do housework get more sex from their wives | Mail Online Lynn- you really do have your hands full. I hope the ac is fixed soon!!! We use middle of the road filters ($10 a filter) and change every month- i have BAD allergies. 6 month checkup today (a little behind)- 29 1/2 inches long and 21 pounds. He HATED the oral vaccine-- cried for that and the shot but now he's sound asleep... Robin- 3 weeks sounds like a long time but I don't know how our boys are about 7 months already, so I imagine it'll be here before we know it-- can't wait to hear! Alex told me he wants a baby brother and a sister ![]() Bri- hope you get some rest! that's how i got really sick... too many nights awake between the two kids... I'm sorry to hear Jayden has a temp I hope he recovers quickly! Are you just doing tylenol or have you tried motrin? I like motrin cuz it lasts longer... I found w/ dd that if i gave her tylenol about an hour or two before bed and then motrin at bedtime that she'd sleep a lot longer w/ the teething and w/ fevers... but it's tricky during the night to remember when you can give which...

Robin-Can't wait to hear the sex of the twins. Do you guys have any guesses? How's Irina holding up so far?
Peachy-I know, post baby dh relationships do seem to be way more stressful. We have definately had some really tough times since Josh was born, but it kind of ebs and flows. Dh actually did alot more housework, cooking, etc prior to Josh being born, so I don't know what happened there, b/c Josh certainly is not taking up too much of his time. The thing that irritates me is, like you, I get flak if I want him to get up 2 days a week w/ josh, when I'm up at 5 or 6 in the am depending on the day all week with him! Grrrr. Hopefully it'll get better. I think there's nothing wrong w/ trying counselling-maybe a third party can help open the communication? Bri-Yup, teething is tough. Sorry Jayden has been having troubles. I think we're in a waiting period for the next teeth, thank goodness. cat-I like your study. I'll have to let dh know.... ![]() |

Wow, seems to be an all too familiar tune with the daddy's around here. I spent the day at my parents yesterday so they share in the cuddling time. I told dh to take advantage and hit happy hour with the co-workers, he walks in to announce I should start planning to go back to work full time and proceeds to tell me how unhappy everyone is at work, what does he expect he works for a bank and we're in a recession. If thats what happens when he goes out, I guess I won't be offering. Meanwhile I'm already planning for baby #3. I've mentioned counseling to him a few times. My parents just started after 34 years of marriage and it is really making a difference for them. Sometimes just the threat brings him around a bit.
Thanks for the advice about the air filters guys, we haven't changed them since we moved in, you all probably solved the problem

Lynn - Opps. Guess the leaking water wasn't the AC? Hot water heaters usually last around 15 yrs so the good news is it's a cheaper fix than a new AC and will last longer. I was in banking for years. Everyone around me was such a downer. I don't know what it is with the field.
I realize from all the wonderful responses that it seemed I was complaining about dh doing housework. HA! The only housework he is supposed to do is take out the trash/recycling to the curb and he missed 2 of the 3 pickup days this week. The only reason it got to the curb today is I left him a huge post it on the door last night. I was actually meaning helping more with his son. Or, taking Aiden on his day off so I can have some time to myself. I guess there is no chance of that happening either? Last week it was dh's day off and I had to take the dog to the hospital and Aiden to the Ped. and dh "opted" (I didn't know there were options) to stay home and just watch tv. Today I was crazy busy all morning between Aiden and work so I left for daycare w/o doing a round of bottles which isn't like me. Well, dh didn't go to work till 3pm but I still came home to a sink full of dirty bottles. Just examples. DH is off on Sunday and I've already prewarned him that we are having a serious sit down about how he can become more involved in our life as a family unit. I hope everyone has a good weekend! We might actually stay below 90 all weekend. I might be able to step outside the air conditioning without dripping in sweat ![]()

Thanks Cat
Is anyone doing this isagenix stuff? 4People from our church are all bombarding us with it because dh owns a gym. It's ridiculous because they all know that the other people have contacted us. I hate pyramid schemes.

Great rainbow Lynn! I don't think I've seen one in years. They always feel so special. How is it with 2 teething in your house? Scary?
I thought Aiden was getting his top tooth. He was cranky, constantly sticking out his tongue and rubbing it against his top lip, and tylenol made him more cheerful. But, now it's been 5 days and nothing. Hmm. He took about 8 steps forward with the crawling today and I managed to catch it on the video camera. Maybe that's why he's woken up 45 mins early every single day this week... We had goregous cool and breezy weather today so I couldn't resist taking Aiden to the park! I think we're headed there again tomorrow with dh in tow and a picnic. Aiden will love this park when he gets older. We can walk there from my house and it has a great toddler area and then all sorts of stuff for bigger kids like a mini rock climbing wall. Here some recent pics... I took them on two separate days but Aiden happened to be wearing the same onesie. We really do have more clothes! ![]() Last edited by JustPeachy : 08-09-2008 at 06:53 PM. |

Oh, Lineali, I love rainbows..........I want some picture like that toooooo!!!! Cat, how do you feel now? Did you finished your antibiotics? I think I wrote to you, that last weekend Gregor got first tooth, right?? Where was daddy?....in casino.... This weekend Gregor got second tooth!!! Where was daddy????? ......in casino again!!! ....3rd time.....in Las Vegas. I cant even write to you, how many thousands is gone in last 12 days and 3 casino visits! What a sick person! Peachy, I can make you feel so much better about your husband, I have so many stories! I think in all of them is some amount of selfishness to some degree, some more some less, they will always put themself on first place if they can. Hi Maggie, Bri, Robin! |
