So to vent here but the plumber was supposed to be here at 10 to replace the hot water heater, he got here at 11:30, had to go get parts and a hand truck, they didn't start working until 12 and now at 10 to 3 they are still working because he did something wrong. I had a day of errands planned and my Mom was taking Nicholas to even out that she took Evan for a day of fun Friday. Pete has been popping in and out between conference calls and his freaking golf lesson. He doesn't understand why I'm not thrilled that he is interupting my schedule and the stupid plumbers are making so much noise that Evan can't sleep. My Mom offered to watch the boys for an evening so Pete and I can go to dinner but I would really rather go out by myself and do what I wanted to do. I know that sounds wrong but he gets to go out and do whatever he wants all the time. I want to return a thing of ice cream that dh brought home with a whole in it and get my free q-tipos with the CVS coupon. There's no peace and quiet in this house.
If Emily isn't very interestred in finger foods I wouldn't worry. Nicholas loves eating the Earth's best biter biscuits but Evan doesn't. Evan likes the little fruit bag and Nicholas just slams it on the tray. I think they just take time. A lot of the finger food stuff doesn't really have much nutritional value anyway, it's more practicing a skill that's important.

lynn, that would bother me too! I hope by now that the plumber is done and that you got to do some of your errands!

Lynn - Urgh. The hot water heater should have been an easy fix
I hope they got everything resolved and you got a nice peaceful hot shower this morning.I had an early morning. Had to leave the house at 7am to take Cooper for his surgery. Needless to say, by 8am I had already cried twice today. I hope everything goes smooth. The waiver form was brutal. You had to check if you wanted your dog resuccitated (sp?) and what type of cpr you would want preformed. I felt so guilty for putting a dog through an optional surgery but hopefully this buys him a couple more years on his life. Aiden went back to taking his morning nap today so I guess yesterday was just a fluke when he stayed up for 4 hours straight! |

OK I spoke to soon about the morning nap. He went to sleep for 10 mins and then woke up. WTH. Now I can see him going around his crib attempting to maybe go back to sleep but it's been 10 mins already. Anyone else's LO giving up that first nap of the day already? Aiden had been taking that first nap about an 1hr15min after waking and that's when I usually shower. I kind of figured the nap would just get shorter and shorter and not that he would just suddenly not nap one day.

Robin - How much sleep does Alex get at night? I seem to remember he goes to bed pretty early right? Aiden still goes to bed about 8:45pm and wakes up at 7am lately. So, he had been taking the typical 3 naps a day. Looks like I'm in for an interesting day....

Opps. Sorry Robin! I was thinking he was one of those 6pm bedtime ones. That's nice that you and Irina get to spend some good time with him after work. Considering he's sporting those 4T jerseys, he must be getting enough sleep
Just not a napper I guess. He probably gets lots of hugs at daycare when everyone else is napping!Aiden went back to sleep after crawling all around the crib and french kissing with his music bear. See how long it lasts this time. Anyone putting any toys or stuffed animals in the crib yet? We only have the music bear but it hangs from the rails. My weekly babycenter email was saying this is when the babies start to go through an attachment phase with blankies and stuffed animals. |

Hi Peachy- Good luck with Cooper, never has a dog had so many well wishes I'm sure he'll do great.
My boys seem to still need three naps but they do have late bedtimes, like between 9 and 10. They still take that morning nap an hour after they get up. They sleep again after lunch and usually at 4-5. Nicholas needs a cloth diaper to get to sleep sometimes. If he can't find it in the crib he will just keep moaning. My cousin tie dyed one for him with food coloring so it would look cute, I just don't know about the treatment that sets the dye. I try to keep giving them different stuffed animals at different times becaus eI feel like if they attach to something it does ease transistions. Be careful though, my friend's little guy has a hugh blanket as his didi and it stinks and is always dragging on the floor, then he chews it. GROSS

I just checked in with the hospital again. The surgeon called me earlier to tell me Cooper had made it out of surgery but still wasn't awake. He did well in the surgery. The malignant tumor was a little deeper than the had thought and they had to take out some muscle tissue too but they won't have to send him home with a drain for the suture which was one of their fears. The other tumors went well too. They'll send everything off for a formal biopsy and probably know in about a week what type of cancer it is. Cooper is awake now and they are hoping I'll be able to bring him home late tomorrow.
Thanks for all the thoughts ya'll My Mom just came over to see Aiden crawl around. Unless I go up to the farm on the weekends, we don't tend to see my parents and dh's parents are non-existent. Anyway, my mom watches my neice every Wed. for the past year for the majority of the day. I've asked her repeatedly if she would think about putting aside time for Aiden too. Well, she just told me she could watch him from 10:30-12:30 on Tuesdays. Ummm... anyone else think that is weird?? I was kind of hoping for a little more than that. With Atlanta traffic it's hard to get anything even done in two hours and be back home. Aiden goes down for his nap around 12:30 and she said she would want to leave at that point. I should have guessed she was going to weird like this. My mom hasn't worked in about 27 yrs. yet she manages to fill her days with all sorts of shopping and bs. ![]() |

Glad to hear Cooper made it through ok! I hope you get to bring him home tomorrow! Sorry to hear about your mom. I can't believe she'd only want to spend 2 hours with him? Well, the finger food didn't go over very well and I ended up having to fish it out of her mouth because she started to choke. I think I'll hold off for a few more months! She made the funniest face though like, "What is this crap!?" Too funny!

Gina, definetly hold off, Nicholas and Evan both used to gag on anything that was bigger than puree but now I put cheerios on their hand and help them get it in their mouth and they move it around to chew it. I'm going to hold off helping them get it in their mouth now though, when they can do it they can eat it.
